My hunt for a good Berger lead me here. With the reviews I decided to try it. My boyfriend tried the BBQ chicken nachos large and he didn't realize how big it was going to be. The chips and BBQ sauce were amazing and he said he would definitely order this again. The burger on the other hand...the tater tots should have been fried a little longer. They were still mushy lacking that crunch. The burger patty was delicious with their spices and melted cheese. The bun was toasted with butter which made it a perfect pair. The burger itself were dry. It definitely needed a sauce or at least mayonnaise. The lettuce used was shredded and had a weird taste that didn't go with the burger. It also came with tomato with I opt out. The pickles were included but nothing was different. Just typical pickles. Would have been good if they were kind of thick kosher pickles but oh well. All in all we would go back for the nachos again but not the burger. read more

Wow! I am quite impressed with this place. Came here on a Monday night. They had live music which made the place so welcoming. HUGE TV's for football Monday. 1/2 priced burgers and 1/2 priced well drinks ohh and $3 domestic beers! What?! That's unheard of. We ordered a few burgers. My FAVORITE was the mushroom with Swiss cheese. Service very was amazing. Everyone here was ultra friendly. They also have a trivia night.. I think it's Tuesday but check up on it. Definitely great for couples and family. Just a great place with plenty of parking as well. I'll definitely be back as this is my new go-to local sports bar. read more

We love Biltmore Square, a lot of restaurants choose from great views great people. We are seated quickly and I noticed they had some new additions to the menu. I've always been disappointed. They stopped doing the brick oven pizzas but they brought back flatbread pizza and if I could tell you, it's the worst I've ever had that be an understatement. The pizza was made on seem like taco tortillas and smelled like bleach. I never complain, but I had to tell the waitress and she said yeah we get that a lot but I promise you it's clean. We just can't figure it out. I'll send out the manager so the manager comes out. He says the same thing as they washed the boards and this and that but they just smell like that. I promise him if I got food poison I've been in his front yard that night, but I didn't, but the pizza is still zero out of 10 for me sometimes it's better to stick with what you like. We'll be back though. Just wanna order that terrible flatbread pizza. read more

Service and ambiance was more pleasurable than usual because there was live music when I showed up. I got my hands on the Cedar Plank Salmon, which is a baked salmon fillet with a chili lime rub, alongside steamed yellow rice. The salmon was cooked to a beautiful mid-rare and the rub was exceptional. The yellow rice was steamed to perfection. Overall, a great late-night meal. read more

We had just landed from a West Coast flight (a 3-hour time difference, obviously) and stopped in for dinner around 10 PM, even though they close at 11. Our server, Tybra, was AMAZING--the best service my family has ever received while dining out. She made every request feel effortless and never once acted like anything was a bother. Even after the kitchen had technically closed, they were still letting a few stragglers stay and watch Game 2 of the Stanley Cup, and she even let me order dessert. Not only that--she made it herself! Tybra went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and her positive attitude completely turned a long travel day around. I've given this place the last, last chance. The service is so notably bad that even the staff seems apathetic. Right now I'm in a near empty dining room and the server is slammed while at least 5 other staff members stand around joking how dead it is. Maybe they are too distracted by the 20 TV screens or the porn like Attire of the hostess. Hickory Tavern is a misogynist paradise and I'm done... I know I said it last time when the server threw a roll of paper towels at me when I asked for a napkin, but this time I mean it... This coming from a former server and restaurant manager... The side of sweet potato waffle fries was good but not great (a little too soft/not crispy enough). The blackened redfish sandwich was also good, but nothing stood out. There wasn't a lot of seasoning. The tartar sauce it was served with was okay, but it seemed like this sandwich needed a sauce with more zing (lemon garlic remoulade maybe?) to give the rather plain fish, with not a lot of seasoning, more flavor. The side of pimento mac-n-cheese was the high point of the meal. Using pimento cheese was a nice twist, and the top of the cheese covering the macaroni was nicely charred in places providing some crunch to contrast with the saucy cheese underneath. Limited beers on tap, but an interesting cocktail menu. It's definitely a great location with pretty good food, so a good place to eat in the countryside around Canton, NC.
