This is undoubtably one of if not THE BEST barbecue I have ever had in all my years. I went here on a whim during the (beryl) storm. They were one of the only places in the area serving hot food and Im glad I did because driving by you probably wouldn't notice its small sign.., I was mind blown. The meat was so flavorful gigantic and succulent! I had the coleslaw and green beans for my sides. They both were perfect && I'm not a fan of canned geeen beans but these were sooo well seasoned it made no difference!! . This blows papas barbecue out of the water. I hate to say that, but this is authentic Texas barbecue !!! Smokey & oh soooo flavorful ! The best! highly recommended 10/19!!! These pictures do them no justice.

I've been living near Bellaire, TX for around 2 years now and I pass the this bbq spot pretty often. I've always thought about trying but never did until around a month ago. Way better than I ever expected! I recently visited for the second time and I ordered the Fancy Stuffed Potato. Everything from the potato and ingredients within the potato were very succulent! The beef was cooked well and seasoned perfectly. I also ordered the green beans and peach cobbler on the side. The peach cobbler was good despite what I initially assumed. The times that I have been to this bbq spot it's always pretty empty, but I've only gone during the late evening, so I'm not sure of the traffic they may get earlier in the day. However, I definitely plan to eat here again!

I was driving down Rice Ave and could not help smelling the smoke from this place. I was hungry and happened to be craving BBQ at that exact moment so I thought I'd give it a go. The portions were humongous! I got the ribs and brisket plate. The side selection is limited, but they do give you quite a bit. The ribs were 4/5 - very well cooked, moist, tender and smokey - loved them! The brisket was a different story - tough and dry...I feel like I could make better brisket - I'd give it 2/5. As some other reviewers have pointed out, the sauce was definitely a winner. I have to admit that I'm the type of person who seems to like sauces on the sweeter side, but I found this sauce very good even though it wasn't sweet at all. If I come by again, I'll just stick with the ribs.

Chewy crispie french roll with fresh veggies and smoked gochugang pork belly. Delicious!!!!! The eggs rolls were just ok. I wouldnt order them again. Next time the Kimchi egg rolls will be on my order along w Guava glazed ribs and gochugang smoked wings!! The ambiance is what you might expect at a BBQ place. Wood rustic-ish interior. Friendly staff and very good unique Asian fusion bbq. I always try to patronize local run businesses over the big box chains. If you want some different BBQ w an Asian flare, give Blood Bros a try.

This was the best meal I had my entire weekend! The place had ample parking. There was a solid staff cleaning, and the place was spotless. The front desk staff was helpful and patient with newbies, recommending menu items and accompaniments from the bar nearby. I had the chorizo breakfast taco and the pulled pork hash taco - I was delighted to find out that "hash" meant a delicious hash brown inside the taco. The egg was creamy and perfect inside a taco, the cheese was good, the meat was amazing. I don't think it's possible for me to be happier with roughly $9 in breakfast food. I will make it a point, even if it's not on my way, to visit Pit Room every time I'm in the Houston area going forward. It is a destination restaurant, in my opinion!

My wife and I had had a great experience at the Pit Room previously, so brought the rest of my family here to experience. I found the food to continue to be really good, especially the fatty brisket. Stopped by around 11 am, and there was still parking in the dedicated surface lot next to the building. The smell of bbq wasn't as prevalent as last time. Once walking in, you stand in line to first order your meat...which is immediately sliced in front of you. You then move further along to ask for your sides, including as many slices of plain white bread as you want. My daughter treated us this time, so didn't record prices, but thought it was reasonable. I liked the sliced brisket a lot, along with the side of elote corn and mac n cheese. The free toppings bar had the various pickled vegetables that really cut through the fattiness of the meat. Drinks were all self serve, with a water station and soda fountain. Probably ordered a bit less than expected for 4 people, but was happy that there were no left overs, and left not completely stuffed, since we had a long day ahead of us. By the time we left a little after noon, there was both a wait for tables and parking. We had come at the right time.

I couldn't wait for my second time to show even more family how awesome this place was. Well my second visit spent about $250 on the brisket and I was surprised on how far the quality went down, brisket was so dry that after my first bite I literally wanted to throw the entire brisket away, it was that terrible and everyone that had a bite agreed and couldn't see why I bragged so much about it initially. With that price and amount of inconsistency I doubt I'll risk another visit to Truth.

Here's what I had: Ribs: Top 3 of all time. Didn't even use sauce - delicious and perfectly tender as-is. Current best: Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse, NY and other locations. Wet/Fatty Brisket: Top 3. Very tender. Current Best: Black's BBQ, Austin, TX Dry/Lean Brisket: Not rated. Pretty dry. But I don't love lean brisket to begin with. Current Best: Black's Sausage: Not rated. I had Jalapeño cheddar (they were out of the pepper jack that I would have gotten). The casing is fairly thick and hard to cut through with plastic utensils, and the inside is fairly dense. Current Best: Datil Sausage at Woodpecker's BBQ, Saint John's County, FL Baked Beans: Way better than I expected (and way better than they look, since they look like standard baked beans). I was glad I got them. Brussels: Better than expected - very tender, and the glaze/sauce they pour over is a great compliment. Overall, an outstanding meal. Easy to park. Not too crowded. A great stop on a work trip.

When the food came out I guess the staff misheard my friend order because a pulled pork sandwich came out instead of the baked potato. The staff quickly fixed this and brought out the correct order. First glance everything looks great. They gave a lot of meat which is a plus! The cream corn was very tasty and I def would order again. Things have changed at Brisket House over the last few years, so here's a new review…read more.. I stopped in last week and ordered a sausage sandwich. Their sausage used to be decent. It's more Eckrich-like today. It used to be in a Czech/German Texas hill country style. Not anymore. It's hot garbage. Pass on the sausage. Let's try again today. This time I ordered the brisket and pork ribs. They used to be famous for their beef ribs. They don't serve them anymore. It's a shame. You can't fault them on this. They probably had trouble sourcing the beef ribs for a price that wasn't outrageous. It's a tough business. So, I order a 1/2 lbs of pork ribs and a 1/4 lbs of brisket. The brisket was out of this world amazing! Of course, they're named "The Brisket House". Pork ribs were perfect. Sauce very good as well. The girl at the counter was rude and obnoxious. They used to have nice people working there. It's hard to find good help these days.

We ordered sliced brisket with mac n cheese, coleslaw, chopped brisket sandwich, and a pecan pie. The sliced brisket was so juicy and tender with so much charred flavor. The meat was cooked to perfection and got me wanting more! The mac and cheese wasn't too overwhelming and actually complemented the meat. As for the brisket sandwich, I thought it was good in terms of the meat, however, I must say it reminded me of sloppy joes too much. If I had to choose, I prefer getting the brisket sliced over chopped. As for the coleslaw, it was fresh and not too overwhelming with the mayo, which I love. The ratio of cabbages and carrots were evenly distributed. Lastly, the pecan pie was not too sweet and really soft yet crunchy. Overall, I would love to come here again, it was honestly one of the best!

Here's what we ordered. I got the Fried catfish with green beans and cabbage and my friend ordered the chopped beef sandwich with fries. I definitely had to get some kool aid as well. My fish was cooked to perfection. It was fried hard & the batter was crispy. The batter didn't miss a pinch of seasoning. Probably one of the best fried catfish's I've had. The green beans and cabbage were forgettable. Seasoning wasn't really there except for heat. My friend sandwich was decent. The bread was nicely toasted with butter. The meat could've been more tendered but not bad because it was seasoned. Maybe a little salty but better than bland. The fries was definitely made in house and it was delicious.
