Crawfish tower!!

Ya'll need to come try the new crawfish tower! Fast service, presented greatly, taste amazing!

Assortment of rolls

*Carry out Review only* Did a pick up order and the drive up window was easy enough! The rolls themselves were small in my opinion width wise. They tasted pretty good and freshly made!

Gluten free chicken and shrimp fried rice!

Phenomenal service from a knowledgeable staff! Great gluten free options, with dedicated pans and utensils! We will be back!

Spicy Edamame

It's like a classic diner combined with sushi. I loved the little origami hung up as well, cute ambiance. The place is pretty nice to get dine out, the service allows it easy to get the food. I dined in, and I got some of the spicy edamame. Which was actually spicy, fair warning. I enjoyed the food too, it was fresh, and not to badly priced.

Hibachio offers delicious food, great service, and an amazing dining experience! Highly recommend!

The staff were friendly and always had a smile. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen with soy broth, pork belly, scallions, bamboo, diced onions, and an egg. The broth was the star for me. It had this deep, savory flavor with a little sweetness underneath, almost like the soy had been cooked down into something richer. Warm, comforting, and full of umami without tasting too salty. Every sip had that roasted, almost earthy depth that made me want to keep drinking it. The pork belly was ridiculously tender. Soft, juicy, and rich, with just enough fat to make it melt in my mouth. The egg was creamy and silky in the middle, and the bamboo and onions added some crunch and freshness to break everything up. Simple, warm, and really satisfying. This was exactly what I wanted from a bowl of ramen.

Instead, one came sickeningly sweet with an unlisted cinnamon syrup, and the other still had a strong cinnamon taste. When we questioned this, the server casually mentioned the cinnamon syrup--something not disclosed on the menu. I had to specifically ask her to take one back rather than her responding promptly. Next, they brought our sushi rolls, but no plates, no soy sauce, and not even dishes for dipping. We had to ask for all those basics. I specifically chose two rolls without cream cheese--because I don't want cream cheese in my sushi--and yet one still had it. The server's response was to chat with a manager but not to offer any solution, compensation, or correction. Overall, if a menu lists certain ingredients, that's what should arrive. Adding things like cinnamon in a drink or cream cheese in a roll--especially when people might have dietary needs--is careless. They need to be more attentive to both the menu and the customer's feedback.

amazing staff and food!! super attentive and finally a good sushi place in mansfield…read more i could see how it could be a but slow if it's a full packed restaurant but we came friday afternoon and jr was steady pacing. there is a limit per round that you can order and luckily it was just me and my bf so it was enough for us two. i don't feel the need to drive to dallas/ carrolton for decent AYCE compared to Jinghe i think i prefer here for distance and better seasoned food/ quality ie the ramn and sushi rice too. they don't stuff their rolls with rice to fill you up which i like

I've been wanting to visit Kanpai for a couple of months now, ever since they started advertising…read moretheir AYCE option. I'm a sucker for sushi, and Jinghe has been my favorite spot for the past two years, until now. I never set my expectations too high when it comes to AYCE sushi, since you're basically sacrificing quality for quantity. My friends and I went on Saturday night, and paid about $65/person after the 20% automatic gratuity for party of 6. I was nervous about the limited sashimi options compared to other AYCE spots in the DFW area, but I still wanted to check them out. Kanpai offers a few limited nigiri options like wagyu, chutoro, otoro, foie gras, and uni. Those are usually $10-20 a piece at regular restaurants, so I was excited to have them included with the meal. Of course, they are limited to one per person, but that's still a huge plus compared to other AYCE spots. We started off with the limited nigiri and almost all of the appetizers. The one thing that made the experience frustrating was the limited amount you can order per round. Yes, the rounds are unlimited, but each person can only get 5 PIECES of nigiri per round, and I think 3 orders of sashimi? We actually never understood the exact limits because each waiter seemed to give us a different answer. That said, the food came out SO FAST despite it being a busy Saturday night. The restaurant is small and cozy, but most of the tables were already filled. We were all surprised with how quickly everything came out, especially considering the good quality as well. After trying various appetizers, I was super impressed. This place doesn't even taste like an AYCE sushi restaurant; it feels more like an izakaya, which I guess it should be since it's in the name. The tako karaage, fried oysters, spicy tuna poppers, soft-shell shrimp, beef tongue skewers, tempura shrimp, hamachi kama, miso salmon, mazemen, and more were ALL SO GOOD. The batter on the shrimp tempura was flaky but not heavy. The extra options like ramen, skewers, grilled fish, and rice bowls made it easier for everyone to find something they liked instead of just eating sushi. Not everyone in our friend group likes sushi, so it was really nice that the appetizers were actually solid. The edamame was amazing too; not like those overboiled, soggy ones we're used to. The only downside is that their 5 orders vs 1 order of edamame is basically the same amount, just served in one small straw bowl. After devouring all the appetizers, it was time for the main course. I wasn't expecting much since the appetizers were so good, so I assumed the sushi would be mid-tier at best. The uni nigiri was actually HIGH QUALITY, along with the foie gras. The wagyu was so-so, and the otoro/chutoro had some good and bad cuts, but overall, the fish quality passed my normal expectations for AYCE. My favorites are scallop and black cod, which are my go-to orders at Hatsuyuki, so of course I ordered a couple of pieces to try. The scallop crudo sashimi was mouthwatering (I'm still thinking about my meal while typing this), and the salmon truffle and salmon belly were definitely my favorite dishes of the night. I think I ordered about 4-5 plates because everyone kept grabbing a piece here and there. The rolls were really good too, like... ?!?! We mainly focused on nigiri and sashimi to make our money's worth, and got a couple of rolls to split. The Maverick Roll was really solid, and they used the same flaky, soft shrimp tempura in the roll. The sushi rice could be improved, though. It was very dense and heavy when paired with the good-quality fish cuts. They also offer AYCE Happy Hour drink specials for $15 with your meal, but the downside is that everyone in the party has to get it. It sucks because one of our friends really likes drinking beer, but the rest of the party aren't drinkers, so he had to pay out-of-pocket for his drinks. We joked and told him to move to the table across from us so he could just drink happily haha. Maybe if they can be more flexible with the AYCE drink rule, along with allowing more items per round, I think this could become the new popular AYCE spot in the DFW area. They're already charging for leftovers, it would be reasonable to increase the limit from 5 pieces to maybe 10 per person each round. I was scared about the 70-90 minute time limit, but we were all full by the 60-minute mark because the service was so fast. I think we ordered about 6 rounds total, but only 3 of them were actual big rounds. I'm lowkey hesitant to post a positive review because I don't want it to be super packed the next time I visit, but I also don't want them to go out of business either. If you're like me and come in with medium expectations, I think you'll be happy. Don't expect Uchi or Hatsuyuki quality, but it's definitely good enough to satisfy my sushi cravings for half, or even a third of the price.

This place is really going down hill…read more My wife and I ate here for lunch, on a Wednesday. We were sat, and waited 12 min for drinks while we were assaulted by cigarette smoke coming from the back. Apparently, some of the staff were smoking with the back door open. We almost left, and I wish we would have. The waitress didn't want to be there. It was almost like we were bothering her by being there. I ordered the Mongolian chicken lunch. What I received was the Mongolian beef. I didn't want to wait on them to fix the right entree, so I ate it. It was okay. I ordered water with lemon and I guess they were out of lemons.... We were watching them take forks out of the dishwasher and place them into a pitcher of clear liquid. Not sure what that was about. My wife got the chicken lomein and the chicken was soggy and greasy, she only had a few bites. Brought it home, and my 17yo son wouldn't even eat it. I really liked this place when it opened. Now it is struggling. I will not be back for a while. Only acceptable Asian in that area is Oishi Raman IMHO. I hope Forney gets some decent places with the new Gateway additions.

The inside is well structured for those who want to sit at the bar to eat alone or to sit in booths around the room. Decor is nice, lighting on the moody side & the restrooms were clean. When I did dine in I will say it took over 10 minutes before the server even acknowledged me, so I wasn't a fan of that. Although I may not have been assigned to the other servers they could've offered a drink or grabbed the gentleman to let him know I was sitting there, but all chose to just smile and walk by until he arrived (which is why I'm rating them a 4/5). When it comes to the food you can't go wrong with anything they offer. I personally love nigiri, so that's what I've continued to order from them and it's been fresh & flavorful each time. It's better to dine in for your first experience because they have a list of different fish you can choose from that isn't available to view online when you order to-go. I also think it's better to come in person as they do have quite the happy hour selection. The fried rice, beef skewers, edamame etc are all great options and portion sizes that will leave you satisfied. I didn't try any of their alcoholic beverages, but I'm sure those are just as good. If you're in the area check them out!
