It has been many years since we visited this restaurant. The food doesn't seem to be as good as in the past. 4 out of 6 items I tried were barely warm. One was nice and hot. Wontons were stale. The beef and peppers were good. Beef was tender and the dish was hot. The hot and sour soup was hot but too spicy for me, but it had a good flavor. The white noodles were tough and chewy. It was cold. Overall, it was ok for a buffet. It was ok, I just got the cold items . It will probably be many more years before I return. I find the quality depends on the time I go. Until about three PM the restaurant seems to have lots of heavy duty business trucks in the parking lot, so the patrons have hardy appetites. They are quiet and respectful. If I go close to 3 PM the food is usually freshly made as that is the time the more expensive menu starts. This is definitely not the type of restaurant you want to sit and enjoy a leisurely meal. Being that it is a buffet, there is no wait for service or your food to be cooked, unless you order hibachi, so it will most likely be fast in, fast out. It is a large restaurant that caters to families and most always it is full with all ages from babies to the elderly. The staff is either rushed or bored, there's no way to know. I find if I'm nice to them, they're nice to me. I serve myself at the buffet, eat, and leave. That's what it's for! read more

This is still one of our favorite places to eat for Chinese foood buffets. We have taken many family and friends and it's typically a hit. Our kids love the ice cream. My mother in law likes the almond cookies. There's a ton of options for the person who doesn't like Chinese food. They also have sushi that is typically served fresh, and a stir fry area that's pretty good. My father in law loves the curry soups offered but I personally find them spicy. Waiters are attentive. Plates are cleared when you are done. No one likes to go to a buffet and look at a table full of half eaten dishes. I can appreciate the attention to our experience. We usually go on a Sunday but tonight we went and the food was still just as good! Sundays are usually VERY busy and tonight obviously wasn't anywhere close to what they are on a Sunday after church. Horrible customer service waitress was rude and rushing and it was so dirty in there

Some restaurants should be closed. This is one of them. I love a good buffet but this place is dangerous. The negligence is horrendous. Everywhere you look is dirty and it made it impossible to trust the food was safely prepared. In fact my stomach started to turn when I looked at the floor where the food is being served. The place is very dirty and the staff does not care. I told the manager and he didn't look concerned. Our city deserves better. I really wish the health department would rate them accordingly. Gross. The bathroom smelled like sewage. I can't imagine they cleaned the toilets very well. All the floors were dirty. Carpet looked like they have never been shampooed or cleaned. A restaurant should not have carpet anyway. Especially a high traffic restaurant like this buffet. The poor babies are sitting in really dirty booster seats with old food stuck to them. This place looks so dirty. And they charge a premium for mediocre quality food. The food looked better than it tastes. It's not a good experience. Please, go to the one down the street. I enjoyed my experience here. Visited around noon on a Saturday and pretty busy, but no wait. They had tons of noodles, chicken dishes, fried dumplings, crab Rangoon etc. They also had raw sushi which tasted pretty good. Their was a sushi chef making the sushi right there next to the station. The price was around $20 for 1 person for the buffet for weekend lunch. Overall I'd recommend if you're looking for a buffet experience. read more

Pros: Wide variety and a large restaurant with ample seating. Lunch has gone up in price but is still reasonable for the quantity and quality. Service is attentive and excellent; I am a semi-regular and my drink order is always remembered. Took the family here to try out and we really enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly, selection was huge, and the price was very affordable. $12.99 for lunch (adults) and includes hibachi, sushi bar, soup bar , salad bar, and many other options. My granddaughters love this place. I'm not typically big on buffets but this one is always well stocked, clean in appearance, and a wide variety of Asian food to include a sushi buffet. If you're a family that would like to try different Asian dishes, this would be a place to do that. Service was very good too. Back again. This time we arrived at a more decent hour and were able to sample the full fare. And this time I'm able to give a more comprehensive review of this establishment. The place looks a little more grungy than the last time. The table and the salt shaker looked a little greasy. At least the silverware looked clean, but I'm not giving this place high marks for it. This is a low bar to hurdle. The steamed fish was bland and a little bit too slimy. The egg flower soup was clean tasting. The vermicelli noodles were dry and cardboard tasting. The other Chinese dishes had the same flavor note across the board. Very soy saucy. The fried bananas were serviceable. The hot wings were blecch. The curry soup tasted too much cilantro and not so much curry. The fried items were, thank goodness, good. The dessert cakes were mercifully moist and okay Finally, do not eat the sushi here. I'm not a sushi snob but my god, it was too fishy, the rice was starchy and wet. Overall, a truly disgusting fare. All in all, if you're a college student on a budget, this is perfect. Serviceable cheap food. If you're more discerning, avoid at all costs. You won't regret the price, what you will regret is the experience. read more

We used to enjoy coming here with the kids as they loved just being able to to get there own food. However, this place has been going downhill. It's totally over priced now at $20 p/p (and that is without any drink. The food and selection has become worst and feels it has cheapened but worst of all are the staff behind the food counters (Sushi and Hibachi). They are plain rude. The guy behind the sushi counter is terrible, he gives you the death-stare when you touch his sushi rolls. My wife didn't want three rolls there were stuck together and he started mumbling something at her when she carefully tried to split them. They all are so rude, do not speak or even look at you when you thank them or even put a tip in there jar. We are definitely not coming back here as it isn't worth the money anymore. read more

The place itself still looks like it's previous occupant, Golden Corral, except for the lion statues in front. The inside is your typical buffet set up.... booths sitting around the trough! The buffet is off to the side, the sushi and hibachi cooking area in the middle and the salad and desserts on the other side. The servers are quick to pick up after you so you have a cleared table when you return. Not much in friendliness but good at busing tables. Horrible service. I arrived at 8pm, one hour before they close at 9pm. I was immediately informed upon being seated that I needed to hurry up and get what I wanted from the hibachi station because it would be closing early. When I went over to the hibachi station, they had not restocked any of the meats and most of them were empty. Throughout the time that I was there, the wait staff was much more interested in their closing activities than they were in serving customers. I was not offered a drink refill until I sought out the attention of the waitress. When I returned from getting my dessert, the waitress immediately placed my bill directly in front of me, almost in my plate. I moved it out of my way so I could finish eating. At 8:45, 15 minutes before they close, a different waitress demanded that I stop eating so that I can pay my bill immediately. I paid with my credit card, she returned and placed the receipt on the table for me to sign. I wanted to finish eating my dessert. She came back and again demanded that I stop eating to sign the receipt. I even asked her, can I please finish eating first? And she said no I needed to sign it now. I find this to be incredibly rude and horrible customer service. I have never experienced wait staff in a restaurant demanding that a customer stop eating and sign their bill immediately! I am a food service manager, and have worked in the industry for over 40 years. I would never permit any of my staff to treat a customer in this manner. read more

Look, I'm Australian, born and lived in Hong Kong for 14 years. I've been eating Chinese food, everywhere, for 75 years and still alive! To worry about sanitation, check the Health Rating, and go and enjoy any and all the 'buffets' in Raleigh. You will survive. This place is close to me, the food perfectly edible, variety great, wonderfully cooked and tasty. Service is good, and each 'station ' does a great job. I'm sorry but I just can't do the A-OK here for my dinner tonight. Much of the food on the steam tables was entirely too picked over and even the entrees that were mostly meat were overdone to the point of being chewy and dry. The kitchen was bringing out refills often. The sushi was actually decent and they do have a hibachi grill here which was doing good work. Other than being chewy and dry, the chicken/broccoli was oversalted and others were too sauced. That said, there were spills in the food area, the table and the seats were not clean when I sat down and the general feel was that the staff was just too busy to keep up. A solid 3 star. I came in a Wednesday night after my son's karate class nearby. Lots of cars in the lot. It's a good sign. Large selection of hot entrees, seafood. Honestly I don't like Aaliyah of the entrées but the selection is large e enough fir me to find something good. Salad bar is minimum - but then again I am not here for salad. Dessert section is normal but lots of ice cream flavors to keep my son happy. There is also a noodle station and hibachi grill - looks yummy but didn't get around to try. I have not done a Chinese buffet in ages but sometimes you just have to scratch that itch. Popped into Hibachi China Buffet which is just north of my old favorite, Hibachi Grill Buffet. The parking lot was busy and full of trucks, a good sign. Inside Hibachi Grill Buffet it's got two sides, one with salads, ice cream and cold entrees and the other (larger) side with all the hot entrees. About 10 items per buffet stations, six buffet stations in total, choose from Chinese favorites, crawfish, dumplings, salmon, and more. Add in a soup station, sushi station, Mongolian bbq and you've got some serious deliciousness for lunch. And given the customer volume, everything gets refilled pretty quickly with fresh food! I personally enjoyed the dumplings, fried chicken, broccoli-beef and sushi. The Chinese stir-fry dishes have a generous amount of proteins (chicken, beef, pork) which was a pleasant surprise. And while the dining room and furniture is a bit old and worn, it seemed pretty clean during my visits which is impressive. At only 8.99 or so for lunch it's a really good deal. Service was super solid and my drinks were refilled, plates cleared in a timely fashion. So while a buffet may not be for everyone, sometimes it just hits the spot giving you tons of choices and quantity for your meal. I'll never go back here. 1. Host was so rude. He took my party to a table and I noticed that the table was dirty so I asked him can he have someone clean the table before we sat down. He said the table is clean. I said no it's not and pointed at crumbs on the table. He rolled his eyes and said it was clean. I asked him can he just have someone clean it anyways. They both said I'm not your server, that girl over there is. They were literally within 10ft from my table doing nothing. 3. The food is absolutely terrible. For a Friday evening, they were pretty slow. Possibly because of the state fair? Since they weren't too busy, their food sucked more than usual. I know that going to a buffet, I'm not expecting high quality food but food was cold, soagy, and plain bad. 4. This place is so filthy and disgusting. When I first went in, I only noticed the table being dirty then one person from my party noticed how dirty her heels were. That's when we looked under our table. I don't know what it was but at that point we were so annoyed and said we'd never come back here. 5. While we were eating, servers reached for the napkin holder, dropping unknown crumbs on our food, which we ended up not even eating.
