Don't waste your time with this dealership. Twice I've been interested in a car from them, twice have I been given the runaround. Their website said the vehicle was available so I called to set up an appointment to view the car. I was given excuses, such as undergoing repairs and general not ready for sale. I was asked to follow up at the end of the week and whenever I did I was further informed that they "know who I am," "have my number," and "will get back to me when it's ready." I was never called back, and both vehicles had since sold without even entertaining my interest. I bought a 2006 Scion Xb in ALMOST immaculate condition. It has under 100,000 miles and is super clean inside and out. However I took it to be checked at a mechanic nearby before purchasing and was shown surface rust scattered all over the undercarriage. The car was marketed as Mint Condition but no mention of rust. I bought the car anyway and found a shop that removes the rust and restores the undercarriage. Make sure to take your car for a pre purchase inspection to really know what you are working with. The car is amazing other than that and Richard has been super nice with holding the car for me, being very transparent with how he charges for the cars and how much he paid for mine etc. I would buy from him again. read more

Go somewhere else, as this will cost you more than you think. Believe the Yelp reviews, I made the mistake of not doing so and read on to see my mistake.. I had been texting with Richard Lee, a PATHETIC excuse of a Sales Person and Business Owner, the night before about a car, he gave me his information and I called him early the next day to ask a few questions about the car which would determine if I would like to set up an appointment since I'm coming from far- he was hesitant in answering any questions and was pushy about coming in, I gave in as honestly was interested in the car. We scheduled an appointment and he introduced himself and gave me the keys to the car, without asking for any ID or License, and off I went to my appointment at Future Auto Care for a Pre-Purchase Inspection. I had talked to Sean(Future Auto) about the appointment a few hours earlier to be set up for 1:30, when I got there it said 2:30, no problem with me as I have friends around, left the car and off I went. Around 3:45 Richard calls me about the car and I let him know that it is in for inspection and haven't gotten a call. By 4:45 I get back to Future Auto Care and they inform me the problems on the car, which I noticed while driving it in but I'm no mechanic maybe it would've been a cheap fix, but after hearing about them made me pass on it. After driving back to Hi5 Auto from Future Auto Care (about a 10 minutes drive), I get to the lot and call Richard, I hand him the keys and let him know that I'll pass on the car because of the problems, said good day and went off to get into my car. As I'm about to back out I noticed Richard speeding in and blocking me, to which I am confused at the situation. He says that the car is not running the same way, which somehow he noticed from driving it 10 seconds. Accuses me of tampering with the car and switching the transmission, MAKES ME CALL THE MECHANIC and the Mechanic tells him the car had been there that whole time, it has just been busy- at this time Richard is not practicing any social distancing and spitting on my phone yelling at the mechanics at Future Auto Care, to which I had to ask him to back off. Wouldn't believe me after calling the shop nor back away from the truck, told him we would have a problem and he said to call the police, I said that I don't support such actions but if it comes down to that I will have to in order to leave and He wasn't hesitant about it, in fact went inside the shop and brought out one of his younger partners as to intimidate me, but I wouldn't buckle. Future Auto Care even called back asking if everything was alright because Richard was acting so belligerent, and he started cursing everyone out- The Mechanics at Future Auto Care and Me. After realizing what a dumb mistake he has done, he gave me an awful excuse along with an even worse apology and moved on. I had a pleasant experience buying a 2008 Saturn Vue from here 6 months ago in July 2019. It was very reasonably-priced and I was able to take it home the same day. They offered the option of buying a 3-month warranty but I declined. Fast forward to now, middle of February 2020, and I'm having to replace the transmission. Richard and Andy aren't exactly what most people are used to which is probably why they have these types of reviews (see below.) Personally, they're salesman who like to cut to the chase. They don't want to waste customers' time, so they have a very straightforward approach to selling cars. They have a fairly simple process, but sometimes mistakes happen. The DMV is responsible for title changes and most of the official work is done there, not by the business. I've experienced a few mistakes but nothing that I couldn't handle myself and with the business owners. If you're serious about purchasing a vehicle, make sure you visit their website for a thorough overview of the vehicle and then call to make an appointment to see the car. If you want all your nightmares about buying a used car come true, then go to this place, choose and pay for one of their 'low priced" cars. It was too good to be true FAST! after buying a car from them, I drove to SF only to have a big engine noise blow up -on my face- while driving on Bush st in the city. It was a Friday late at night and I texted the guys at Hi5 Auto only to be screamed at and told that I was going to be "sued" for asking for my money back and that it was my fault as they had no responsibility whatsoever after having sign the sale papers and declined their cash-front questionable "warranty" (I was told all this by the owner Richard Lee). I claimed that the car was bellow expectations and that the whole used car experience was gone to the toilet with a big metal sound coming from behind or bellow engine area and that they should give me either a full refund or pay for towing the vehicle and pay for the repairs. After a long not so friendly discussion Richard finally agreed to do some repairs next day. He send a guy named Tom, supposedly "his mechanic". Tom towed the car using his AA insurance and three days later Tom call me to picked the car up in Fremont. He said he had to replace the STARTER and provided me with the old part. My concern at this point was if the fly wheel or engine transmission was compromised by both towing the car and having drive w/ a broken starter in the city. He assured me all it was fine but as mentioned: The whole buying experience had gone bad at this point, I simple didn't trust the car or this people. A few weeks later, the front suspension was doing/having strange loud noises. I changed the front struts but the comfort and road noises didn't go away so I decided to buy a new front end suspension kit (control arm, bushings, end links) and I called Tom for a price on a possible installation. He agree to do so for 250usd. I drove again to Fremont and waited for the work to be done and Tom even let me use another car while waiting near the Fremont Walmart and after about 5 hours later Tom said the car was ready. I pick it up and drove in heavy traffic back to SF but begging to feel some funny steering handling upon arrival to the city late that night. This metal noise and bad steering increased in the next week or so. And after a close inspection, I noticed that one of the sway bar end links had the bushings missing! Basically, it seemed that purposely the link was installed with the bushings removed! something NO ONE (not even an inexperienced mechanic) in their right mind WOULD DO. I am not sure why he did this installation wrong or purposely wrong?but certainly it did look like he did it on purpose and thus so another problem was created for me and the car, more money and time lost. I had to bring the car back to Fremont where Tom agreed to reinstall the sway bar en link bushing, however, the car after the reinstall had a bad suspension noise now coming from the opposite side (passenger side clearly due to a bad install of the front end suspension) I told Tom how disappointed I was and he seemed to have no real answers to all of this his faulty installation and as to why he left the sway bar end links bushings out on one side the first time after 5 hour installation time? To charge me for another visit? Not sure! what the logic was there and I wonder. At this point, I didn't trust the car nor this people and left with a car with a suspension noise. I later had it realignment after having to buy also new tires as the tires they give me originally were 12 year old and dangerous as I later find out. I am writing a NEGATIVE review now...my engine head gasket blew up last week. Even though, I have been taking good care of this car with synthetic oil and factory coolant and new spark plugs etc. I begin (short after the sway bar end link experience) to notice a sweat burn smell coming from the air flow vents inside the cabin. It was coolant leaking out from the back of the engine head gasket area! And now the car engine has fully a blown gasket and although it drives it has lost power and overheats after short periods of driving! also I have no heater. You can clearly see coolant leaking from head gasket area on the front of engine near alternator area also. This review is WELL DESERVED for other people to know. Be AWARE. For all the money I lost and you will lost too! I have spend a lot of money with this car and now my mechanic in the city tells me they probably put a gasket sealant in the coolant before the sell because it seems there is coolant white marks on some areas of the engine gaskets as if coolant has been leaked before! Not to mention in between all this problems I also had a check engine light appear from time to time. The car at this point is worthless! After a year of so from purchased! In short, this is a dishonest dishonorable business run by crooks selling broken cars for the cost of in "good condition used cars". BE VERY CAREFUL! read more

FRAUDULENT BUSINESS. Richard and Andy are crooks, plain and simple. Stay as far away from this dealership (also known as Fremont Motorsport) as you possibly can. Their ad for the car said "runs excellent" and "no mechanical issues." How convenient that the engine light comes on 2 days after buying the vehicle. Turns out it not only needs a new catalytic converter (how did it pass smog?!?) but the engine knocks, meaning a couple thousand more dollars to fix it. They refuse to fix the problems or buy back the car. I will be taking them to court. I wish they could be decent human beings. Not a good dealer service, I went today to check out a 2006 Lexus is350 they are advertising and it was very ugly and messed up inside , (At lease make an effort to have the car looking somewhat new inside ) as far as exterior it was decent, engine was pretty healthy but overall it was in bad shape.... Could not be happier with my purchase! Got a great deal, yup, no haggling but the price was already good. On top of the quality of the vehicle, they went above and beyond fixing broken exhaust manifold bolts. Tom the mechanic spent a great deal of time making it right, for no charge. Great service, fantastic price, couldn't be happier. Both Richard and Andy were friendly, honest and easy going through the car buying process. Saw a screaming deal on a car online, gave them a call and they had the car washed and ready for a test drive when I pulled up. No pushy salesmen - Richard gave me the keys and let me inspect and test drive as long as I needed. It's been said in other reviews, but this is not your average used dealership. They look to specialize in finding good cars at good prices (ie. auctions) and turning them around fairly fast in a small square footage business. Jonny was a nice enough guy but he's got a tricky racket when it comes to selling a Prius. He buys an old Prius at auction then works with his friend Omar who replaces old battery cells with new/fixed ones. This racket did not work out well for me. My story: April 2017: I buy a 2006, high mileage Prius at a fair price, certainly not a deal but I don't think he ripped me off. **The refurbished battery is a big selling point.** June 2017: The hybrid battery dies. I'm just within the 2-month warranty so Jonny replaces it for free. November 2017: The new hybrid battery dies. I'm past the warranty but Jonny arranges (what appeared to be) a good deal to have it fixed by Omar. January 2018: The new, new hybrid battery dies. That makes THREE hybrid batteries dead within NINE MONTHS! Finally, I said enough is enough. Omar gave me a "warranty" that would have lasted to February 2018 but I didn't want to deal with the headache of going through this all again (and probably again and again and again). I finally went to a dealership to get the hybrid battery replaced by someone who knows what they're doing. In the end, the "fair" deal I got from Jonny cost me thousands more than what I had originally paid. I may as well have bought a newer, lower mileage Prius for all I spent on this lemon. P.S.: It turns out the "good deal" I got on the new hybrid battery in November 2017 wasn't really that much of a deal. Omar told me he was replacing the entire battery for half the cost of materials. When I brought the car to the Toyota dealership in January 2018, they told me they believed the original battery was still in there and whoever fixed it simply replaced individual cells that had gone bad. I bought a Lexus GX470 from Hi5 and I couldn't be happier. I took it to have a check up done by an independent mechanic, and they suggested maybe 1200 dollars worth of minor repairs. Hi5 split the difference with me, and did half of the repairs for free with their in-house mechanic, and I did the rest with my normal mechanic. Overall, I got a great deal on a beautiful GX 470 that I love. I can kind of understand some of the poor reviews here because Richard, the owner, drives a pretty hard bargain... so the meek beware. But, in my experience, he was really fair in doing some of the necessary repairs and giving me the same price for the car. I believe Hi5 specializes in Lexus and Toyota, but don't quote me on that.. but, when I was there, they had a nice selection of both. read more

First off, this is a carefully chosen selection of cars on consignment, not a typical used car dealer. They are very picky about what make, model, and general condition of vehicle that they will showcase and allow to be associated with their business. If you visit their website, you can see the selection of vehicles that they have. Ask them for a copy of the Carfax report and they'll give it to you as soon as they're at the office. They're also willing to let you take any car to a local mechanic to be inspected. Because the cars are on consignment, they don't know anything about the history of the vehicles outside of what has been told to them and what is listed on the Carfax report. They offer some warranties and "cool off period" options, but I wasn't interested in those, so I can't speak to their merits. Total price is listed price plus sales tax plus DMV paperwork fees. To ballpark it, just add 10% and then add $100. The owners are there all the time and are friendly, but don't negotiate nor have knowledge of vehicle history because this place is mostly a consignment shop. Where should I start with these people? I recently bought a 2008 Lexus is250 with 75,000 miles n it in November of 2020. At first, it was great, but then I had not received my Title, Registration, and proof of Insurance only a few weeks ago. Not to mention the car already has a leaking head gasket and poor gas mileage. The owner Richard Lee is a phony and should be looked at as someone who likes to take your money. Offered no help and consistently told me the DMV is backed up after he specifically said he would send it himself. OH, and he also put his cars on craigslist from the owner. Turns out he is a dealer that doesn't tell you about his business until you actually buy the car. DO NOT buy a car from this guy. I have opened a complaint with the BBB DMV investigation unit. He talks a great game but actually hung up on me when I was asking for my new tags. He put the wrong name on my Pink slip and when I asked about it, he told me I need to go to DMV and take care of it myself. He did not have the new DMV tags sent or me ( Car's registration had expired) and then I asked for them, he told me that's not standard and that I had to get that from DMV. So I am now driving around a car with expired tags which is a ticket. As stated, I have opened a complaint with the BBB DMV investigation unit. I'm very disappointed with Richard at Hi5auto. Called this morning for the first time to inquiere about a 2012 Lexus CT 200h. The first time called to find out if the car was still available for sale because I was planning to come out from Riverside (6 hr drive) so he was courteous. Second call was just to inquire for more pics, he asked me to send him a text to the dealer's phone number. I tried sending the text but the dealer's phone won't support SMS. So I decided to call again to let him know that but he was being rude and accused me of stalking just because my cell number happened to have the same last 4 digits of a previous buyer who according to him is being inquiring about different cars. Came in without scheduling an interview which is not the way these guys do things yet richard pulled a car out of his inventory and let me test drive it with not problems at all. Fell in love with their 2006 Lexus iS 250, only one problem, the master switch for windows wasn't working. No problem at all Richard fixed it up for me, upon fixing this he found another problem and fixed it free of charge. Meantime Richard put me in a car so I had a car to use. Drove the lexus for 2 weeks and Richard requested that i return so he can make sure my car is running fine and i'm all taken care of. NO, NO NO. got my Scion xB 2008 here. We all know those cars are TOYOTA reliable!! 100% awesome cars. Customer service- OKAY. No different than any other dealership trying to get your money. I got no deal here. The day I bought the car I had agreed with the manager with a price and even tho it wasn't a deal I was fine with it...., after that the young men that was helping me wanted to charge me the registration fee $158 extra because the cars registration was about to expired in like 3 days or something like that which meant the price we previously agree to wasn't valid anymore... I realized then they lost my business...but I needed the car so I decided to get it knowing I will soon change it but WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE! I left with the car ( they didn't even give me the floor liners but it was okay ) a FEW weeks later, brakes on the car started giving me problems, transmission needed to be change ASAP , and then a few days later I found out the tires that the said were " VERY NEWWW" were from 2011... they had cracks and need to be replace as soon as possible.... the car, has cost me more money than my previous 4 cars ( ALL SCIONS) IF you want someone who will care for you as a customer not sure about this place...
