Since I had eyes on multiple selection, I had a lot of questions specially in long term care and possible issues. Car looks great, both the interior and the engine seems well kept. I know it has its years and miles on it so I knew what I'm walking into and that it might need a little tune up soon. A week after getting the car one of my tire sensors lit up so I contacted Mr. Jason and he sent me to Jose from Big Discount Pro Tires to get it checked, free of charge. I also felt a slight engine misfire a couple days after the tire sensor and told them about it too. It was 9pm at that time but he was still very responsive to me. Scanner saw ignition coil and got it replaced which was covered by pacific bay auto too. I was going to replace all of the ignition coil and spark plugs soon enough as was also recommended by Jose Around a month after, I felt the tiniest misfire and decided It was time for that tune up so I brought it back. Luckily enough, I met and ran into Julian, the co-owner, as we were scanning the car. He was kind enough to cover the ignition coil changes for me and included the spark plugs too. ALL FREE OF CHARGE. He even picked up my car for me and waited for me waaaay beyond closing hours bc I wouldn't make it back before the autoshop closed. So glad I purchased from them. read more

Jason guided my dad through the paperwork and was very cooperative and transparent in explaining what my dad was signing for each form. By that evening, I was handed an envelope of forms (a copy of everything my dad signed) and the keys. I am pleased to share that if I can give Pacific Bay auto more than five stars I would. So I give them 10! My journey for my first ever used car from a dealership started about nine months ago. I was in the market for a reliable vehicle and stumbled upon a 2009 Volvo S80 T6. After doing research on this vehicle I decided to reach out to Pacific Bay auto's. The customer service is beyond impeccable and the gentleman I dealt with by the name of Jason was more than helpful and patient but was also honest. I have two kids aged six and 1 1/2, at that time my baby boy was only a few months old. After great communication with Jason I decided to make my way to Fremont coming all the way from Richmond. I had no choice but to take public transportation out that way since I was not mobile. On the way over I hired a "private mechanic" to do a pre-inspection. I spent over $100 just for the so-called private mechanic to tell me that it would be an expensive choice to purchase the vehicle if there were issues because he was unable to tell if the check engine light or the battery was tampered with. For the record I would not do this again because now I have a bit of knowledge on cars and what to look for. Also if I knew this "mechanic" would give me an "it's up to you" answer I would've declined his services. But after conversating with Jason halfway through waiting at MacArthur BART to head to Fremont with my children and car seat, he reassured me that the vehicles they sell have been thoroughly inspected and would not be able to sell these cars unless they pass smog. I finally arrive at the dealership and Jason allowed me to take the car for a test drive without any pressure. And just to be clear in my mind I was unsure if I was going to be approved to even purchase this vehicle due to my credit, Jason once again was confident in assuring me that I would be able to purchase if I chose to buy this vehicle. Which made me feel comfortable with my choice, as I took the car for a test drive there was no rush and he allowed me to take my two kids with me, after about 10 to 15 minutes of driving I was sure this was a car for me. The process was fairly simple and easy, and Jason along with his colleague made me feel comfortable with the daunting task of dealing with a used dealership on my own. To you Jason I thank you for the kindness you have shown me because in this world that we live in where there are so many crooks and faulty business practices, you are a Gem. Not only are you the epitome of a Great Dealership, but also A Great man! I appreciate your honesty and your patience and I truly believe that more folks could learn from your character. I am proud to say that I bought my first vehicle from Pacific bay autos. After about 9 months I've finally had the time to see how well the car is, Given it was a 2009 I was already prepared for certain repairs to be made. Bought a 2005 honda civic from here after seeing it on facebook marketplace. I just wanted a simple 4 cylinder honda to get to work and home without any issues. this car looked perfect. I test drove the car and it WAS perfect. The car was clean inside and out.i even bought the carfax online. I thought I was making a smart purchace. I bought it $4700 total . The following weekend I got an oil change. Where my mechanic pointed out the the engine is leaking oil from the "cam cap". I was dissapointed but I got it fixed for like $125. 3 weeks after I bought the car, the check engine comes on. I was so dissapointed. Code 1456. Heres Google says about that code This isn't the only reason though, the code or DTC P1456 is caused by a leak on the tank side of the evaporative system, and the most common cause is a loose or missing gas cap, but it could also mean a leak in the fuel tank, or one of the tubes or hoses. The gas cap on this car is new which proves to me that the dealer knew there is an issue. It's kind of embarrassing that I bought a $5000 bucket. read more

I would like to thank Jason for the help in buying the 2016 mazda3. I live 5hrs from Fremont. I was looking for a mazda3 for my daughter. Since this was not my first time buying a used car I knew that used cars are cheaper in the bay area. The same car I bought from Jason would of been about 3000 to 5000 more were I live. I called Jason set a price for the car before I arrived. Set up a independent mechanic in Fremont to do a used car inspection and there was no problem Jason even took the car to the mechanic the day before I was arriving. Everything checked out the only thing the mechanic said is the tranny fluid needed to be changed and Jason split the cost with me. ( PLEASE no matter were you buy a used car from have the car INSPECTED by a independent mechanic of you choice worth the 100 or so bucks) I already had my financing set up with my bank called Jason a couple days before my arrival to give him all the info. So the day I arrived I knew what I was paying OTD. So get to Fremont test drive the vehicle signed some paper work was back on the road in less than a hour. NO sales pressure NO trying to up sell you on warranty NO sitting you in a office for hrs trying to getting to buy with each guy coming in the office with different numbers. A tag team of 5 different sales guys you know with the sales man the sales manager the dealer mechanic the guy who washes the cars at the dealerships or even the guy who cleans the toilets at the dealership wearing a tie. Here is how my negotiation with Jason went. I called him asked him "what is the lowest price on the car?" Jason "what do you want to pay?" Me "its not my car whats the lowest price?" That is it. All I can say I bought the car it was that good of a deal. 1 more thing. For people who Bi!@#h about buying a used car and something happens mechanical with it ITS A USED CAR. Even if the mechanic says its good to go. Doesnt mean 1 month later you blow a head gasket. Why do you think Honda And Toyota sell at a premium on the used market compared to Ford and Chevy. I bought a 2016 Mazda3 with 120000 miles on it. It was a prior rental from hertz. But I did my homework. Not only car fax but researched the VIN. I knew the car was a rental in San fran. Not the east coast were it was driven in the snow with all the salt on the roads. That rental co. do the scheduled maintenance on there vehicles. Is it a guarantee that next month my tranny goes out NO. And would I bad mouth the place were I bought the vehicle from NO. For what I paid for this car if I get 2 years out of it with no major problems I am ahead. OR you can go buy a bran new one like I did 2018 tundra with a 10 year bumper to bumper warranty and pay 50k. read more

I am lucky to find this store and find Julian to help me out, and get me out of trouble. I just move to California few weeks ago having no friend around. I've been debating whether I should take the plunge and buy a car I'm totally crazy about (Subaru Outback), or keep my 24-year-old Honda which is still going strong. I'm not one to spend money frivolously, however, so for me this is a very difficult decision. Today I decided to hopefully make that decision a little easier by taking a test drive of a green/gold 2002 model at Pacific Bay Auto. I'd been reading reviews and message board comments about the early 2000s Outbacks, and the only thing left to do was actually get behind the wheel of one and see how it felt. I'm someone who needs to mull things over for a while rather than make any impulsive decisions, so I have not yet made a purchase. This review is for the customer service aspect of the business. Julian showed me the hot little number and we took 'er for a spin. He was very thorough, pointing out cosmetic issues, and telling me what was fixed on the car (water pump, head gaskets, timing belt) and what was not (alignment). He was extremely honest and sincere, and not even for a second did I feel like I was under any sort of pressure or being given a sales pitch; in fact, he didn't act like a salesman at all but just an incredibly nice, informative, honest and ethical guy. He was extremely understanding about my wanting to simply just "get a feel for it" and think about it rather than trying to close in on a deal before I walked off the lot. Summary: I got a Japanese car which was manufactured close to year 2000. After selling me the car, he told me that I should never take the car to a car wash because the quality of the paint is poor. The car also malfunctioned about a week after and I had to spend about $400 for checks and fixes. Long story: I am writing a review a long time after buying the car. I always thought about it, but never found the time until now. I decided to buy from pacific because the reviews were good. He seemed nice, patient and helpful which encouraged me to consider pacific. I got the car and only on the way out of the shop he told me about the paint problem. I was in need of a car that time and I could clean it with water, so I took it anyway. When I rub the car hard with a wet towel, I can see paint marks. This removal of paint is not at all noticeable on the car, but you can imagine what would happen in a car wash. About a week after getting the car, the front of the car started shaking when I went above 60mph. After paying about $400 at an auto repair shop, I learned that the battery contacts were rusty and the spark plug wires were old and cracked. Both were replaced and the car worked fine for much more than a year. The only good thing was that pacific took my calls and offered to give me a free replacement battery (an old one with new chemicals). But, I did not want to risk letting pacific use anymore stopgap measures. I suggest that you negotiate the prices hard with him and also try to get some kind of guarantee that the car will work fine for at least 3 months. I know people who got similar cars at lower or similar prices, directly from owners and did not have any issues with them for at least 6-12 months.
