Full set of acrylics, with regular polish applied. $50. Just had them done yesterday. This is what they look like. I understand that nails, even a full set of acrylics, is no longer $25. With that being said, I feel that $50 should entitle me to a little better looking nail, and in general, just a little bit better overall service. Little to no prepping of my nail beds, cuticles, etc. Little to no care as to whether the acrylic was even, smooth, fully applied. Didn't even apply cuticle oil before the standard request of "now go wash your hands", Before applying color to nails. And the application of paint? Again, I understand that most people are getting gel color or dip powders done nowadays, but I do find it standard place for a nail technician to know how to properly and evenly apply basic nail lacquer. The only good that I walked away with, in terms of application, is that she did get the shape right of nail( tip style) that I wanted. In full, I walked away with nails that looked as though they were two days out from needing a fill and polish change. I really do hate leaving reviews for businesses, that don't put them in such a great light. But being a little irked that they so comfortably charged me what they did( Do not go off of their prices on their menu posted in the shop. It said full set acrylic's - $25. Did not say $25 and up), I feel like this review is way more of a warning Of what to potentially expect, rather than a diss on the business. I will say this for the place: they are very nice, and the shop, for the most part, is clean and put together. Y'all just need to step your technical game up. read more

I think having a nail place in the mall is super awesome. We got to walk around and do Christmas shopping and then go wait to get our nails done. It was the day before Christmas eve and the mall was packed with people, trying to see Santa, get in all the downtown vibes, you know...the holidays. My regular nail lady had been out of town and I was due so this was recommended to me. We waited a very long time, since there were only two people working that day. Over an hour on three pedicures and such. I know that this industry is busy believe me, I just thought they would have one more person. I am not a patient person and that is my problem, since my normal nail lady is just one person in a room, there is never a wait like this. After waiting forever, they did stagger us to get our nails and toes done. They worked well as a team and it was a smooth transition. I did spend $80 thought when I did not think the massage was as good as what I was normally used to, the wait was long, and all I got was a non fancy mani-pedi. read more

The nails look like they have been worn for about 3 weeks and this is a picture of them on for only 30 minutes. Do not recommend this place. The 1st photo is what I ended up with. I'm currently here waiting to get them soaked off since I can't stand to look at the crooked eyes or glossy blue (that's supposed to be black 24/7) any longer. I came in for a full set of short matte black nails with two designed nails on each hand yesterday, with the design simply being a solid white eye with a full blue iris and black pupil inside it (see attached 2&3 photos for references). Instead of being told by Lulu "I can't do that design or style of nail" she told me she doesn't have matte black but can still do the design. After hesitantly asking again if she could do the eye design, she assured me she could and rushed me to sit down and begin getting worked on. After having my nails done well by her other employee, Lulu painted my nails with "Leather Black"--a glossy black that is blue at the base and very blue in the daylight (which Lulu said she had never heard before yet also never had worn that black before either)--and then hastily attempted the eye design. None of them were symmetrical and she couldn't get a circular iris nor properly fill in the white surface-part of the eye. She redid the nail and tried again and ended up telling me she didn't have enough time to do more for me and sent me on my way. $45 non-refundable after I even tipped $14. Lulu even mocked me in front of her other three customers and told me I was crazy--that "[she] had never had a client like [me]" yet here I am...I just wanted some Bad Bunny X100Pre nails. I'm just over the petty treatment when I'm watching Lulu treat all these privileged white customers the basic respect I had hoped she would treat me with. I wouldn't recommend this shop if you're asking for more than a single color nail. read more

They offer you two choices of pedicure $35/$45, never telling you their is a cheaper basic. I got the $35 one and the massage was great but they don't do anything to your toes except to shorten and file. No toe work at all which is the point of a pedicure. Very rushed. I probably would have been finished in 10 minutes had I picked the basic. Even the acrylics I saw them do were very rushed. Not impressed at all and will not be back. read more

This is the worst nail salon I have ever been to!I walked in they got me in after 30 minutes while there was no one in there and nail techs walking around everywhere. When a lady finally took me to her chair she rolled her eyes. When I finally sat down and told the lady what I wanted the was not responding, so I pointed to the picture on the wall and said like this then the lady looks at me and goes I know ok I know. Then she walked away for over ten minutes just leaving me there. Then she went right in with the drill which she filled way to deep into . After she started putting on the acrylic she got it all over my fingers. Would not file the sides or the top. She would not stop complaining how tied she was. Then my little cousin came and sat right next to me in the open chair my lady started yelling at her to leave very aggressively. Before she started painting I asked her to file the side over 5 times every time she would either say no or it's fine then laugh before she was painting I was texting my mom with my other hand when she started screaming at me to stop and that she is almost done. I noticed a few problems with the look on my way out and had to go back to ask the stylist to correct some mistakes. Myself and 2 coworkers went in for 35 dollar nails that were quoted on the phone. They said they had an opening for 3. When we got there they only had 2 nail techs so one of us had to hang around till they jumped back and forth between us 3. The nail techs were so mean. They rushed us picking out our colors and were snipity with us. They didn't push our cuticles back so they grew out in a few hours. They cut one of ours nails so short. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place. The pedicure massage was mostly the nail technician punching my feet, which wasn't relaxing and actually felt a little painful. The hot oil they used was far too hot, to the point that it almost burned me. They didn't do ANY cuticle clipping or filing, at all... When I asked them to cut my cuticles, a woman who didn't even give me my pedicure argued that they already did... The French manicure didn't come out very even at all, even after I asked that it be redone. Absolutely skip this place. read more

Absolute worse manicure of my entire life. A good gel manicure should take at least 25 minutes. Mine took less than 8 minutes, she did it so quickly and cut my cuticles a couple times - it was really painful. She made me and my two friends all bleed. She rushed through each of us, demanding "next" once she was done with one person. It was not relaxing whatsoever, the atmosphere was just rude and rushed. I was reading other reviews for this place as the manicurist called me up. It was too late. Red flags rose when they were overcrowded. I counted 10 customers sitting at a mani station with three techs running between them all. Four more were waiting for service. The nail techs were bouncing between customers and moving them around like cattle. They didn't listen to me. They sat another customer at my station. I refused to sit there as they didn't clean their equipment again after using it (briefly) on the other lady. The pedi stations were getting cleaned while other customers were sitting down. Not right after they were used. This led to a row of dirty pedi stations. I worried that they couldn't keep track of the clean ones this way. Ladies, if you ever knew anyone who got nail fungus at a pedi salon, it starts in conditions like this. I declined the pedi. My gel mani was nothing more than a few minutes of cuticle work and fresh paint. The UV machine burned me....I've had a lot of gel manis, this was the first time I was burned! They told me I'd get used to it. What?!?!? I just got out and am still picking off cotton. They charged me $30, but their sign said gel manis were $22. I figured I'm lucky to have escaped and am never going back again. Bottom line: when you get so crowded that you are bouncing between customers, quality declines and conditions get dangerous. Other nail salons either turn away customers or start making appointments long before it got that bad. Shame on you, Hi-Tek Nails. read more
