They've gone through a couple of locations and names - they were Arrow Pharmacy when I first moved here, then Waldport Drug & Gift, before moving just up the street. Joining the Hi-School franchise really improved their pharmacy service, but they have kept a great selection in the "gift" part as well. They definitely have a bit of everything in pharmaceuticals/beauty products/beer & wine/etc - not a giant selection, but enough that if you're visiting or a local and need something in a hurry, they can meet your needs (at a decent price.) Only game in town so you're held captive. Without fail, it's the same every time. RX sent from Doc after appointment three hours ago so I'm thinking plenty of time. I arrive and they say "we can get it started, it'll just be 30 minutes." What we're you guys doing the last three hours? "I think we just got it." No you didn't, the doc did it in front of me and punched in his automated security code from his phone while I was sitting here. Small town excuses. Don't expect anything to happen fast and never an admittance or offer of an apology. This is why I drive to Newport for most RXs. At least the big brands are reliable. read more

My local pharmacy, Hi-School Pharmacy, is convenient, congenial and professional. They also have drive-up convenience for order pick-up, which is a huge boon for me. I'm always bound to forget SOMETHING when I pack for my trips to Waldport. Hi-School Pharmacy has been a lifesaver to me more than once. They've got everything you could need while traveling away from home. On my longer trips, I'm bound to run out of things too. Toothpaste, shaving cream, q-tips, all that toiletry stuff. Last time, I had to make a stop to buy nail clippers and a nail file after breaking off one of my nails. Serious stuff. I don't know where else I would have had to go if they didn't have these simple things available right here. I haven't used the pharmacy myself, but I know it's helpful to my mom when she's here for a long period of time. To my knowledge, she's had no issue having her prescriptions sent here or issues with picking them up. They have a lot of gift-like/knickknack things too. I've grabbed adorable postcards here before, and they have quite a big collection of other cards (holidays, birthday, etc). They have toys, some stationary things (also grab that sort of stuff here frequently), and other sections I know I am forgetting. But if you need something, they probably have it. It's at least worth a look. Don't recall their prices being too outrageous, seems pretty standard. Cashiers have always been pretty friendly. It's nothing to go out of your way for, since it's just a general store, but if you're in the area and have forgotten to pack something/run out of something, this is where you can go to find it. read more

Who names a place hi school pharmacy? How about high school drugs. Worst service. Travel 18 miles and go to Fred Meyers it will be worth it!

This used to be a good pharmacy until the last year. Multiple times we get a message saying our prescription is ready and it's not, or we don't get a message and the prescription sits there. My wife has switched to a mail order pharmacy because she was tired of them never having her medications. The other day, I went in person to speak to a pharmacy tech to order a refill they said had no refills. He looked me straight in the face and said the doctor hasn't contacted them multiple times. We immediately called our doctor because these are life saving meds for an auto immune disease. The doctor said 'we are glad you called. We have sent your pharmacy multiple orders over the course of weeks. We have plenty of refills left. So today it will be back to the pharmacy after the doc sent yet another order. This pharmacy has been going downhill for months. Horrible customer service, meds not in stock taking days and days, sometimes a week to come in. Do yourself a favor....use a pharmacy elsewhere. You'll save yourself a lot of headaches. read more

Went in to pick up my refill. However, even though I have been to this pharmacy many times they said they did not have my insurance information. I informed them I just picked up a prescription for the very same item last month. I gave them my MEDI CARE and TRI CARE cards again. They then asked me for my husband's social security number. I gave up and walked out. I am handicapped and due to the incompetency of Hi School Pharmacy I must pick up my prescription at Walgreens in Newport. Very rude and incompetent staff. read more

Needed a prescription in a timely manner as I was ill. Hio-School Pharmacy texted my prescription was ready but when I arrived they told me it was not and the text was wrong (pharmacist's words). I had telephoned the day before and left a message when they did not answer their phones. No call back. Went home as I was too ill to wait twenty minutes indoors when covid it rampant and no one is wearing masks. Called several times only to be put on hold. When I FINALLY was able to speak someone I was told they could not fill one prescription because it would cost $5000. They did not even have my insurance cards on file yet. I had to call my doctor and have my prescription filled elsewhere. This was the first and last time I deal with them. read more

This store has just about everything for the visiting tourist. There's a pharmacy, of course, but also all kinds of gift items: toys, apparel, kitchen gadgets, "As Seen on TV" stuff, funky wall clocks, knickknack a, post cards and souvenirs, etc., and all clean and in good condition. Definitely worth a visit! read more
