This store has proven to be a Huge Disappointment! Today, May 19, 2026 I went in to pick up two prescriptions and had to wait seemed like endlessly and then did some grocery shopping and wound up at self-checkout! What a disaster. No regular checkout registers open, the aisles were jammed with vendors unloading their wares onto shelves and I found myself dodging every possible obstacle that presented itself. Anyway, at self-checkout, the damn device detected my personal bags and the prescription bag and wouldn't allow me to finish without the obvious fat ass that was supposed to be monitoring the area, finally walked back very leisurely to the area and point blank accused me of being the problem with my bags. I'm 80 years old and I don't need some damn lazy idiot telling me that I'm the problem. If he had been working for me back in the day, I would have fired his lazy damned ass. read more

I had an experience at this Fred Meyer tonight that leaves me very unhappy. I would've left a worse review. Had it not been front end manager Gill at least he was professional and about my interaction tonight. I came to return a pair of Levi's that I had just bought a few days prior, I forgot the receipt so I just thought that I could give them my rewards number and the card that I purchased it on for a refund.. unfortunately for me, I came on a night when nobody at the customer service desk was working that should be over there. At first a nice girl was going to help me. I think her name was Rachel. Very nice smile seemed like such a good person, because I didn't have the tags with me. I told her I would go over and get another pair of those pants and bring them up. They only had one pair over there that were a size 32 in and mine 33 wide. When I came back, her machine had gone down so a tall grey haired guy told me to go down to the next register. I told him the pants were still down with her. He didn't ask me he told me that I needed to go over and get the right pair 33 he then shoves the other pair back at me to put away. His name was Rich. He then waits for me to come back up. I brought a different pair of these pants. It was in a different color I didn't know else to tell him he was just standing there waiting for me to do all the legwork. He then goes off somewhere, then comes back and looks at me like I'm an absolute problem and said this was gonna take a very long time that he was have to go manually search for the number at this point I just asked for my pants back, I realize I should have brought the receipt or at least the tags that was my fault. But having been an executive for target I know that there's also a way to get those numbers at least with target "receipt look up" where they could look up my information the day that I bought them with my rewards number and get that item number that I purchased, he was not gonna make this easy for me. Neither did he really want to and that was very evident. There was about four of them back there and they said none of them normally back there that they were all training and that Rich was from electronics. Well, Rich has zero customer service/ people skills and should not be working with the public at all. The other girls were very kind. They just couldn't help me. Nobody could help me. It was the weirdest interaction I've ever had in there. Then I go to get some meat from the deli counter. The guy back there is having a with somebody. I am waiting to be helped, another guy walks up. He immediately stops his conversation to greet that guy to see if there's anything that he wanted and at that point I just walked away and he said oh were you wanting something? I have never been treated like this at this store before it was absolutely like I didn't exist oh another thing is that a lady when I was dealing with the people at the customer service desk this gray long-haired lady that had glasses on was literally standing there spying on the conversation, just staring at me peeking around the corner from where the shoe department was. That was so weird and creepy looking as soon as she noticed that I noticed her she turned around and walked off like she was doing something over in the junior clothing. Such a weird weird interaction tonight. also Rich says that Im going to get the lowest price for my return because I didn't have a receipt. I literally showed him my fred Meyer reward card and the card I purchased them on. Gill gets an A Rich gets an F! read more

rat colony, mold in refrigerators, shitty management- if you don't believe me, say you saw a rat and they will most likely not be shocked. i've seen rat piss in the snack isle and holes in bakery items and chips. they also never properly clean the bathrooms and i have regularly seen feces on the floor and wall of the women's restroom. truly a disgusting grocery store. management needs to step up or get fired and replaced. read more

Fred Meyer has always been on the expensive side, but I shopped there in the past because they had some items that I couldn't find elsewhere and the had a decent organic dry goods and bulk section. Some time over the past couple of years they remodeled the store into a shopping disaster. The bulk section has been whittled down to practically nothing and now the organic dry goods are mixed in with the non-organic (soup for example). Plus they drastically decreased the range of those products. So now there are these looonnnng, narrow aisles with everything intermingled. No one that I have talked to thinks the new design is good. I now avoid this store almost entirely because it's very unpleasant to shop there. The two stars is only because they still carry Foster Farms chicken which is hard to find, so I go in for that and nothing else. read more

Two days in a row I've had to stand in the pharmacy line for over an hour. It's not the pharmacist's fault they're short staffed. However it is the young & dumb store manager's fault that things are priced wrong & shelves aren't organized correctly. Yesterday I bought two packages of tp which I was charged 7.49 a piece for when on the shelf it said they were on sale for 5.00 a piece. They fixed that transaction & then charged me 13.00 for the mascara I bought today. In the picture you'll see it's marked as 8.00. The manager said he can't sell me it at that price because it's labelled wrong. When I told him he needs to go fix the shelf then he said he'll let someone know.....if you're the manager you're the one who needs to know & do something about it. If you want to give yourself a huge headache & be charged more than the prices state, then by all means go to the Fred Meyers on Kings. I however will NOT be shopping here ever again!!! read more

This guy was psychologically "off", I actually had to request a manager to speak with to let her know how obnoxious this clerk was. His replacment wasn't much better; she had a snotty, condescending demeanor with a high pitched voice. Went home, thought about it, returned everything we bought to the tune of $90. One is a front line cashier, another stocks the organic aisle and a third wanders throughout the store with a clipboard. I usually go to Fred Meyers because they have good deals on some of our favorite groceries! We enjoy having the benefit of gas points as well. What me and my partner love most is that we are able to redeem our bottle drop money here and get 20% extra when we spend it at the store. This helps out with groceries! Usually we go to self-check out because there are many of them so it's pretty fast and no lines often. David at the self-check out area is always really helpful and fast! We have received emails stating that the Fred Meyer in our area now does pick-up and delivery. After making an account, selecting +60 items, and trying to check-out we had two very frustrating results. 1) There was no option to check-out for pick-up. No matter where we looked, no check-out and choose a time slot option. 2) When selecting delivery we were able to find a check-out button and choose a time slot after entering our address. Once we selected Continue to Pay... then the site tells us that delivery is not an option in our area. THIS WAS A FRUSTERATING WASTE OF TIME AND A TERRIBLE WAY TO TREAT CUSTOMERS! EDIT: I spoke with the pharmacist this morning and he resolved all our issues. Was able to do it without a problem. WOW. He is the best. The guy last night should probably find a new job. I have never been more disappointed in a pharmacy. Fred Meyer Pharmacy is probably the worst choice you could make if you actually need your medication. I was rear ended with my boyfriend in the car. We had to go to urgent care and got prescriptions sent to Fred Meyer. I went to the pharmacy last night with my boyfriend around 6:00PM to pick up our prescriptions. They told us that they would be ready in an hour. We came back an hour later, and tried to give the pharmacist the claim number for the incident so they could charge the insurance of the person who hit us. They accepted me but then told us we could not pick up my boyfriends prescription. They said it was because he needed a different claim number. This lead to me yelling at everyone at Allstate wondering why I wasn't given another claim number. We spent all night trying to figure this out. We didn't find out until the next day that another claim number isn't needed. There is only one claim number per accident. The pharmacist lied to us and caused tremendous amount of emotional stress and my boyfriend had to go without his medication for the whole night. We are hurt and this is unacceptable. Fred Meyer pharmacy needs to get their sh*t together. I am never ever going back to this pharmacy unless it's to tell them how angry i am. read more

I purchased a PlayStation 4 game for my kids. Apparently I should have looked more closely at the fine print on the back of the box, nested in amidst a lot of disclaimer text. But no, a clerk had unlocked the cabinet, and was waiting just patiently enough in her coronavirus mask, and I had to learn a lesson about reading every bit of text on video games purchased from Fred Meyer electronics. I got home, my boys and I popped it in the PS4 for a little more "stay at home, stay safe" time together. Uh oh, this particular game requires not just the purchase price, but an additional annual subscription to play it. Not just online play, but single player. A mandatory subscription to play the single player campaign? Hell no. I went back this morning, only at this time noticing the rather restrictive return policy. I was informed by customer service, and then by a manager that they would only exchange opened items for the exact same title, and only if it was defective. No, it was not defective, but a crap title with a hidden cost beyond the purchase price. Amazon it is from now on. I've never had a problem returning items to Amazon. I gave it a one star for the Fred Meyer Pharmacy! And the Pharmacy ONLY- Reason: - They are slow at acknowledging that you are there. Even though you are the first person in line, you have to at least wait 5-7 minutes before some says 'I'll be right with you'. (5-7 minutes might not seem very long, but when you're standing there by yourself looking like a fool, yes it is very long.) What the heck is going on? Why the long wait? Because you're a pharmacist now, you stop providing good customer service? Yes, I know you provide generic medication at a lower price to attract customers, but having them wait there looking like a dummy doesn't exactly help. I know they know I am there because we've made eye contact! Don't you think it's because they're busy and short staffed, because they are not! It only takes one second, just one second to say 'We'll be right with you'. That's all it takes. I just want my presence to be acknowledged, so I know I am being helped soon. The pharmacy has really gone downhill. The staff is incompetent, which is dangerous.There have been multiple mistake made this past year. Each one because the staff did not take the time to read their own files. While I was very sick from chemo, my family picked up my regular refills of medications. Fred Meyers staff mistakenly included a medication that I am deathly allergic to and has been reported this store (was in their file). By trusting the pharmacy and following their directions, my mother almost killed me. The last straw was when their tech hung up on me while I was trying to explain they had made a mistake with the insurance. There was no swearing or yelling on my end, he simply didn't want to follow up. I got the information that he claimed they didn't have with a five minute call to the same number they had and relayed it back. Finally the INSURANCE company called them asking why they hadn't made a request. This delayed my son's pain medication (after a crushing injury) by three days. Our family has been going there since 2000, I referred my family members (9 in all) when they moved here...we have decided it will be worth the trouble to switch. read more

This is for the pharmacy: I have yet to have a bad experience. They always fill scrips in a timely manner, will call to notify you it's ready...which is especially helpful when the meds often make you forget. Their service is kind and respectful and helpful. They even contacted rite aid for me since rite aid was impossible to deal with and would not give me my scrip back when they couldn't fill it. I never have to worry when I fill a scrip here which is a huge relief. It's a small corner of the store and their hours are typically long to make a pick up time easier. There is a very small waiting area but I've never seen a need for it. They even have a walk up window outside with pharmacy parking, but no drive through. Hands down my go to pharmacy. read more

This is a great store, you can buy practically anything you need here. Grocery items, clothing, home goods, jewelry, flowers, etc. I wish they had Fred Meyer in SoCal. I always buy groceries here when I am visiting family in town, they have good steaks, bread and produce. I was here last week and found some nice casual clothing on clearance perfect for Southern California weather, they had a big section of clearance clothing, understandably most was geared for the colder/wetter climate in Oregon but I found a beautiful lightweight sweater at a bargain for windy/cooler days at the coast. Its great no sales tax! That probably saved me $10 alone at least, shopping here during the week. It does get busy being a college town, but I have always had quick check-out and friendly service here. I have also visited the Portland area and Newport, Oregon stores and pleased with all. read more
