Decided to stop by after lunch since I've seen some hype around this place. The hype was definitely deserved because the mango yogurt smoothie was so delicious! I love yogurt in general but making it into a smoothie with the mango jam/bits made it way better! It was very busy on a Sunday afternoon but we got our drinks less than 10 mins after we ordered! I cant wait to come back and try the other flavors :)
Picked up a blueberry yogurt after dinner one evening. It's easy to order from the kiosk and then follow your order on the screen to see when it will be ready. It's a bit awkward inside with where to stand vs where to line up and order, but not too bad to figure it out when it's not crowded. The yogurt is a lot more watery than I expected. However, it's refreshing and tastes healthy and lighter than a sweet bubble tea.
How are lines this long everywhere in downtown San Mateo given all the drink options? Lol. Hey yogurt opened recently and offers another Asian drink competitor to the scene. Drinks definitely taste good and healthy, but portion size feels oddly small despite the same pricing as everywhere else nearby. Drinks run sweet so I'd recommend low or extra low sweetness. Personally I think the fruit flavor ones taste the best. Boston pie was great too! Quite a large cake for $22
Great for yogurt lovers! The drinks are so refreshing, delicious, and all made with fresh ingredients. My personal favorite is the matcha oreo yogurt smoothie! But the matcha blueberry was very delicious as well.
It was a chill Thursday afternoon. My partner and I were walking around downtown San Mateo waiting for our dinner reservation. We decided to try out Hey Yorgurt as it was something new. Excitedly, we entered and ordered the Passion Fruit Yogurt Smoothie and the Matcha & Mango Yogurt smoothie. After a short wait, we got our drinks and tried them out. Both were really underwhelming. Everything after the very first sip had really minimal flavor. The fruit purees in both were delicious, but the yogurt flavor wasn't really present. In a way, it even tasted a little like alcohol. Though I have had better yogurt drinks, there aren't many options in the bay area, so this is one of your only choices.

Ordering can be done via kiosk or at the cashier. We didn't wait too long between ordering and receiving our drinks despite it being a long line. But we did come on bogo day. It took about 30 minutes which was p gud. The i side is tiny. not really any tables. Definitely grab it and go. I got the strawberry mango yogurt. It's really good! Super healthy too, just 260 calories per yogurt. Feels like there is not a lot of artificial sweetener, lots of fruit flavors and u get real fruit inside. It is pricey though.
I'm a big fan of yogurt desserts and was excited to see that Hey Yogurt opened in San Mateo! It seems everyone orders the mango yogurt smoothie (I mean why wouldn't you?). From 9/1-9/3 drinks are BOGO free! I got my drink less sweet and I think it was already plenty sweet enough. I enjoyed the balance of mango flavor with the yogurt. Service was pretty quick! Less than 5 minute wait for my drink after u ordered. Because it did just open, I did end up waiting 30+ minute in line to order though. The San Mateo food scene is already super good, and Hey Yogurt definitely helps to further elevate that!
Exciting new addition to the busy dessert drinks options in San Mateo. Hey Yogurt is different from the other milk tea options, as it serves its yogurt based drinks. I've tried their peach and mango flavors so far, not bad (a bit too sweet, even at very low sugar level). Recommend hopping on board while their BOGO sale is happening!
Got the mango and peach yogurt drinks with low sugar. Service was fast but the taste is a bit artificial in both drinks, which I didn't expect since it also comes with fresh fruit chunks. Good to try tho!
In an area which is oversaturated with boba tea shops, it is nice that Hey Yogurt offers a different type of drink menu focusing on yogurt drinks. I stopped by on a Saturday just after 6pm and surprisingly for a new spot there wasn't a crazy long line outside. The shop itself is small with no seating available; this is strictly a takeout spot. Ordering can be done with the cashier or on the kiosk next to the cashier. The cashier was nice and patient enough to answer questions I had on the menu offerings since it was my first time visiting a Hey Yogurt location. For a new spot, I was surprised that my order was ready in around five minutes and it was nice that one of the screens said when orders were in progress or ready for pickup. I thought it was great that there were eight staff behind the counter rather than a bare minimum skeleton crew suffering while preparing orders as with other drink spots. I ordered the matcha & mango yogurt smoothie low sweet and pineapple fruit yogurt smoothie normal sweet (the third sweetness option is extra low sweet). The yogurt smoothie component in both drinks was thick and creamy since they use real yogurt and not Yakult type of yogurt. The mango and pineapple in each drink tasted fresh but minimal; I would've preferred more fruit puree in each drink for flavor rather than just drinking sweetened plain yogurt. I was able to taste the difference between the normal and low sweet yogurt but it wasn't too distinct. The matcha flavor in the matcha & mango was almost nonexistent before and after mixing the drink. When I was watching my order being made, I noticed the matcha wasn't freshly whisked matcha but rather a premade matcha foam squeezed out of a bottle. For a newcomer in Downtown San Mateo, Hey Yogurt offers something different to the drink scene. However, I do wish that the drinks could be made with more flavor so I am not essentially drinking plain yogurt; I am not sure if this is just how the San Mateo location makes its drinks or if this is the standard Hey Yogurt preparation style found in other locations. Also, the price per drink is higher than its nearby competitors and the drinks only come in a standard cup size which seems smaller its competitors as well. That being said, I still would like to come back to try the other items on the menu and give Hey Yogurt another chance.

S E R V I C E Friendly, efficient, and prompt. Despite the 20 person line before opening, we were in/out in about 25 minutes. A M B I A N C E Minimalist, takeout only with no seating. Overall, there's already an oversaturation of boba spots in DT San Mateo so Hey Yogurt is a welcome addition that brings something different to the scene. Looking forward to returning to try their bingsu and egg tarts!
I first tried their drinks when I was in New York and fell in love that I got it twice on my trip, so when I saw that Hey Yogurt opened up a Bay Area location, I had to go! I ordered a Strawberry and Mango yogurt drink and it was very good. The ordering experience is through a kiosk, and the time from order to receiving my drinks was fast.
Super refreshing hit yogurt drink makes its appearance in the Bay Area yay! Long overdue but went during their grand opening where they had a BOGO deal! Creamy, heartfelt goodness in every sip. Pretty affordable for the area for a refreshing drink under $7!! Keeping this super simple, the mango yogurt drink is a pleaser for sure, I'll definitely be making hey yogurt a ritual when I'm down in San Mateo :) read more

Underwhelming! The logo and name is so Hey Tea coded, I was hoping for something more yummy and experimental. Tried the Red bean, passionfruit, and oreo yogurt. Passionfruit was the best of the three, but I probably won't go here again :/ read more

Been back twice for the Mango Matcha Yogurt. Still slaps! Been waiting for this place to open, and it's finally here for its soft opening! The line wasn't as long, despite one kiosk and a person taking orders, if available. The Matcha Mango Yogurt drink was sweet from the mango, not too thick from the yogurt, and light on matcha. Also got the tiramisu cheesecake. All cakes come frozen and require 45 minutes to defrost, which is perfect for purchasing before a celebratory meal! Tiramisu cheesecake is a decently small size, perfect for serving 5-6people. Not too sweet, with a heavy cocoa powder giving a bitter chocolate aftertaste. Perfectly not too sweet. Will return! Excited to see what they do with the rest of the space! read more
They're finally opened! Tried the mango yogurt and thought it was pretty good. Less sweet was definitely sweet enough for me. I like that the drink isn't very tart too. The mango syrup was a bit too sweet and tasted artificial, but there are real mango bits in the drink. Overall was a refreshing and delicious drink and would be happy to try the other flavors next time! Soft opening right now but my drink came out relatively quickly on a Saturday evening. read more

Soft opening at San Mateo downtown. Went on a Friday and there was a line out the door. There's one self-order kiosk and a cashier to take orders. I ordered the mango yogurt drink, which came out relatively fast for the place being newly opened. Got low sweetness, and it was pretty nice to taste real mango chunks (have to really mix the fruit into the yogurt with your straw). The yogurt component was smooth and the drink itself was really dense, so I got full pretty quick. Next time I might try the multi-fruit yogurt drink or the bingsoo. read more

Decided to swing by today and saw there wasn't as big of a line as there was last week. You can either order at the self-serve kiosk or with an actual employee at the front. We got their #1 drink which was a mango yogurt drink ($7.50). Ordered it with less sugar and it came out fairly quickly. However, I still thought the drink was a bit too sweet even though I made sure to mix it well. I think I personally would prefer a greek yogurt for some extra tang, but it tastes like what I imagined a fruit yogurt-based smoothie would taste like. Workers were nice and busy making drinks. I know it's marketed as a healthier alternative, but it's still a whopping 53g of sugar for a drink. Even the plain yogurt one is 38g of sugar! I may return if they truly had a zero-sugar option with just the natural fruit sugars, but it would still be a rare indulgence. read more
I was having dinner at Gao's and this shop was right across the street. Love it when all my food/drink hops are close to each other. I had heard they are currently in their soft opening and next week Sep1-3 they are having a BOGO deal, the second drink must be the same flavor. I got the strawberry & mango mix yogurt drink. Blueberry yogurt is new but I wanted to try their original first. As a fan of Yomie's, I'm disappointed that their yogurt drink is not tart at all. It tastes like a chobani with fruit on the bottom minus the tartness. It's still a decent drink but not yogurt forward unfortunately. I have a friend who likes it because it is not tart though so proceed depending on your preference. I am open to returning to try their bingsu in a cup products. read more
I love yogurt and was excited when I saw that this spot popped up on my for you page. Apparently it's healthier version than boba. I decided to stop by on my way home on a Wednesday at 7pm and there was somewhat of a line. It is currently soft opening so hours are 3pm-8pm Tuesday-Sunday and closed on Monday. There was a kiosk as well as a staff to take orders. I ordered the strawberry and mango yogurt with regular sugar and it was super tasty. The blended fruits paired so well with the yogurt. The drink wasn't too sweet, and I liked that the yogurt wasn't super tangy. I can't wait to come back to try other drinks on their menu next week since they have BOGO for grand opening. read more

I visited during their soft opening and line wasn't really long at all on a Wednesday night. Their service is fairly quick and the staff is nice! I tried the Strawberry Mango Yogurt with extra low sugar and it was pretty good! It already had much sugar from the fruits I'm sure so extra low sugar was the way to go. I was expecting it to be more tart but surprisingly was more creamy and sweet. It tasted as if you blended American yogurt with fruits honestly. Also tried the Berry Yogurt Bingsu which barely had a yogurt taste and was light and creamy instead. The ice was in clumps which was interesting. I liked how it was not that sweet or heavy. This is a great dessert option in San Mateo if you want something lighter. I wish their yogurt was way more tart but that's a personal preference. Also wish they have no added sugar options, I would definitely try that. Highly recommend checking it out! read more

HEY YOGURT is currently in their soft opening hours and will be grand opening on 9/1! Today from 3-3:30, they were offering free drinks for the first 20 customers but unfortunately didn't make the cut but that's ok because I still wanted to try their yogurt! I opted for the strawberry mango yogurt drinks and I like that they include calories so you can be conscious of the amount of sugar are in the drinks! Even though it was soft opening, we waited in line for 15 mins and got our drinks in 5-10 mins so wait wasn't bad at all! For the strawberry mango yogurt, I got low sweet but it was still pretty sweet to me. If you have a low sweet tolerance, definitely get the extra low sweet! I still enjoyed my drink but would probably only opt for one fruit puree. For a limited time, if you tag the store on IG and the hashtag , show the employee the photo post so you can get a free tote bag, blanket or hand towel! Will be back next time to try their desserts and other drinks! read more
We came on the last day of the BOGO deal for Hey Yogurt's opening and it was so good that we had to go back! The first time we went, the BOGO is for the same type of drink only so we went with a classic, the purple rice. Despite us arriving so close to closing, there was still a huge line. However, the staff were trained really well. There's a kiosk to order at and one register where you could also place your order at so the line moved pretty fast. The store pumps out the drinks. So after you place your order, you do not need to wait long. The second time we went on a Saturday afternoon and there was only a couple of people in line. This time, we got the famous mango and a peach yogurt smoothie. I like their fruit ones much better than the purple rice. I also surprisingly liked the peach over the mango! The fruit adds the additional sweetness that balances out the tartness of the yogurt very well. You also get to customize the sweetness and I've got less sweet everytime and it's pretty perfect. The yogurt smoothies are colder (maybe they blend with ice) than the traditional yogurt (purple rice drink) which I prefer. Definitely recommend this place for a healthier yogurt drink! read more

Hey Yogurt is a great option for a refreshing drink in downtown San Mateo. I dropped in spontaneously on Friday evening during their soft opening. There is one kiosk inside for ordering. Menu options include drinks and desserts: -- Yogurt drinks (mixed with fruit, matcha, or grains like purple rice or oats) -- Bingsu ice cream (Korean shaved snow) -- Croffles (croissant waffles) -- 4" cheesecakes and tiramisu Despite there being a steady stream of customers, the workers efficiently got my two drinks ready in about 10 minutes. My order: -- Strawberry and mango yogurt drink: I got this less sweet, and it is the perfect amount of sweetness. I enjoyed the different textures of the yogurt with the real fruit pieces. -- Oreo yogurt drink: I got this regular sweet. Surprisingly not too sweet either! I think it's well-balanced with the tartness of the yogurt. There were some larger ice chunks that I wish were blended a little better. The interior is clean and bright. There is not any indoor or outdoor seating, so plan on taking your orders to-go. I'll definitely be back to try their matcha drinks, bingsu, and cheesecakes! read more
Fairly new place thats just open in San Mateo. Its still their soft opening with training hours before their grand opening. You can order with the staffs but you can also order from the kiosk as well. They have good amount of flavor to choose from. They also have waffles and cheesecake as well. I had their strawberry and mango mix flavor yogurt drink which costs 7.95 before tax. First time having a yogurt type drink which was pretty good. The drink came out quick. It had some real fruit at the bottom. Will come back next time to try their other flavors read more
We came for the grand opening where they were doing a BOGO on their signature flavor yogurt drinks. It's a small, grab-and-go type of spot with no seating. There was both a barista and a POS kiosk to place orders. We opted for the strawberry mango and the strawberry. Drinks came out relatively fast given the volume of drinks they were cranking out for the BOGO. It kind of just tasted like a drinkable Yoplait. The drink itself was naturally sweet from the fruit purée and the consistency is pretty thick/dense. I'm glad I got to try it! I'm hoping to come back to try their desserts or some of their other yogurt flavors. read more

Stopped by here on a Saturday evening since the line was pretty short. I tried their green grape flavor with regular sweetness and it tasted pretty good! I'd love to come back again and try their other flavors. read more
Soft opening, lots of options! Cute aesthetic the music matched the vibe. I love a good refreshing drink and this satisfied that.. We got a bit of variety, I am a family of 4 and we averaged about 40$. This place always has a line and its for a good reason. I got a strawberry mango yogurt drink blended and the croffle x3 original. If you love yogurt this place is for you. We were greeted upon entrance. They have register and kiosk options for ordering. They have posters, I like pictures, the online videos made me super excited to try this place. Happy I did. #yumm read more

We tried the Mango & Strawberry Yogurt and the Blueberry Yogurt during their soft opening. The service was fast, but the drinks missed the mark for us. The base yogurt was quite watery, and even at the minimum sweetness level, both drinks were still very sweet. The Mango & Strawberry also had a concentrated syrup added that overpowered the fresh flavor. Since the staff was still in training, I'm hoping the quality and balance improve over time! read more
My son got me the peach yogurt drink, I did not go to the store myself as last weekend I drove by and saw a long line and store looks bright, clean. The drink I got wasn't very exciting, not a lot of peach and on top is the yogurt drink not very tart, no sweet. It's like normal yogurt added fruit.
