It was definitely frustrating, but Abraham took my concerns seriously from the beginning. He personally reached out, apologized, offered to restring my racquet free of charge, and even provided a gift card for the inconvenience. What impressed me the most was that he didn't just fix my racquet--he worked to improve the process. When I picked it up today, I noticed they now attach a label showing the string type, tension, date, and stringer. That tells me they're focused on preventing mistakes in the future, not just fixing one complaint. Every business can make mistakes, but not every manager takes ownership the way Abraham did. His professionalism, communication, and commitment to improving the customer experience earned my trust back. Thank you, Abraham, and the Sports Basement team. I'll definitely be back for future stringing and would recommend them to other tennis players.

The stars aligned and the prices were jaw droppingly low from previous purchases I've made here, online, and other outlet locations. The tough part here is having the the colors I want that are on sale and in my shoe size (10.5 - 11). Way too common and leaves a lot of colors that are not anyone's style really. The staff are super helpful and offer to help bring your stuff to the front if you're overloaded with boxes. They even offer to take out boxes for purchases to make carrying them outside easier. Good call! I was able to score a few pairs during this fire sale. Makes me sad to think they're clearing all inventory and wonder about the fate of this particular location even though the news articles mentioned this of 1 of 2 outlet locations staying open while the full price stores in the US close. I really hope this company is able to turn itself around and stick around. I've always really enjoyed how comfortable these are, even if they wear quickly and generate way too much static walking around the mall.

When I asked if she could kindly call the Hayward store to verify and ask if they could hold it for me, she flat out said no. I was shocked--the store was practically empty, with about five employees working and only three or four customers total. There was zero reason not to take two minutes to make a quick phone call. I walked out and called the Hayward store myself. Not only did they not have the shoe in stock, but when I asked the employee in Hayward if they normally call other stores to check stock for customers, she said yes, absolutely. I went back inside to speak with the manager and asked why his team refused to make a basic phone call for a customer. His facial expression showed complete indifference. It wasn't until after I brought the issue to his attention and complained that he finally picked up the landline to call around. Customer service here is extremely lacking. Employees seem unmotivated to do the bare minimum, and management only steps up after you call them out. I expect much better effort from a retail team.
