Never buy online! Purchased a 80$ backpack for my daughter never received it. Was asked to send a picture of my front door, which has a ring camera on it. They claim they reached out to FedEx and said it was delivered to the mail room asked for a refund they denied it. Said to file a police report. I had a terrible experience today at this store. I had a one hour window between dropping off and picking up one child from an appt. So i quickly came straight here with my younger child to pick up some clothes. The website said it open at 10am. The calendar on the door said it opened at 10am and the door was open, so we went in, were greeted by one of the staff and we began shopping. We had picked up several items and were continuing to shop, when one of the staff came up and said she had accidentally opened up the store an hour early and they were not officially open until 11am despite all of their postings on and offline about opening at 10am. She told us she asked her general manager if we could stay and finish shopping but she was told we had to leave and could come back in 40 mins. I told her that i didn't have time to come back bc I had to pick up my other child. She apologized but said there was nothing she could do. So we handed back all of the items we had picked up and we left. It really just makes no sense at all, even if she opened early on accident, why I couldn't just finish shopping and leave. I had recently discovered this store and was very excited it was nearby as I have a preteen and teenage daughter that like their clothes but this really just puts me off of the whole place. A very cool store with top notch customer service and trendy items and some really nice frickin pants. Although I may have looked like an out of place grandpa here it was still a pleasant experience - the way a retail situation aught to be. Things are probably a tad expensive but this is a cool store with very trendy items. I'm not sure if people are already cool when they come or if the clothing is so good it can transform average people to look cool when they wear the stuff off these racks. Its too cool here in fact I think I'm barely young enough to walk into this spot. Oh, well... one last time. Top notch customer service. Friendly greeting upon entering that feels genuine and in the fitting room they call you by name. Its a nice touch to have lots of attention as you would get in the most upscale clothing stores. The clothing is interesting and they carry lots of lifestyle brands that have to do with surf and skate. Pick up anything here and it is awesome. They have these "frickin pants" that are awesome. So frickin modern they will make your head spin. An asymmetrical yoke in what could pass as dress pants. Show some personality at the office. Like I said an overall pleasant experience - this is what every retail situation should be like. If walking into a store were always this pleasant I wouldn't have this history of re-buying all the same stuff I know that fits online over and over again as I normally do. read more

I have to start by saying that the floor staff is really friendly and mad it a point to say hello and asked me if I needed any help when I was shopping. That being said. Read the fine print on their sale signs! Over $300 of clothes and shoes here the other day for myself and my kids. There is a holiday sale going on that if you spend $100 in the store you get $20 off your order. But what they don't tell you is that you don't get the sale prices on anything else you bought if you get the $20 off. So I spent over $300 and only got the original 20 and all my other items that were on sal were charged at full price! I was like WTF? I returned the items back to the store that were supposedly on sale and asked why I was charged full price when they are on sale and the manager just said well the $20 off is the better deal so you only get the $20 off? So I asked her if my wife had paid for the other stuff separately, and I bought the sale items separately would I have gotten the discounts, she just said yea I guess... I'd have to say the manager there was not very helpful at all, and seemed annoyed that I was even bringing up any sort of an issue. I am just surprised at a time like this when a lot of people are struggling to survive and spread thin because of Tempe economy and covid, and countless other things. Not to mention that brick and mortar stores are in constant competition with Amazon and online shopping, that these stores don't do more to help their customers get the best deals. The more you help people get what they need and make them feel like you are trying to take care of them, the more the will come back and the more they will buy and their friends will too. I don't think I will be returning to this store anytime soon. Just make sure that you check your receipt if you visit this store. read more

Horrible customer service, specifically the female manager who is full of an entitled attitude. I was sent the completely wrong shoe size and the shoes were dirty when they arrived to my house. After waiting for 20 minutes in line, the lovely associate was about to finish my return when the manager came over and proceeded to tell me she refused to let me return the shoes because they are dirty, and that I would have to mail them back. Her way of "rectifying" the situation was to give me a free return label, as if it is convenient to mail something back that was incorrect in the first place when I was literally standing in the store. Even if this isn't her official policy, I would highly recommend she receive training on how to better deal with customers instead of making us feel like the problem. I'd also avoid calling customers "love," as it is extremely condescending. read more

WARNING: UNUSUALLY STRINGENT RETURN POLICY. It will refuse to accept ANY returns of certain products - items that every other retailer accepts based on my past experience. The policy is NOT verbally disclosed at checkout and is apparently hidden in fine print on the receipt (which the customer gets AFTER the purchase). I prefer shopping here 'cause its easily located versus driving to the mall. Tilly's is jam-packed with a little o' everything. Shoes, purses, lots of freakin' purple, even mix 'n match socks. actually... I love the belts sold here. I still sport one I bought a while ago which has rainbow colors on black. I receive compliments on that all the time. Clothes selection is hit or miss. I don't like wearing t shirts with huge logo advertisements but I do like hoodies and they carry both winter and light summer 'hoods. Staffers here are fake polite. Basically they're always way too engaged in their own personal conversations to actually care and smiles are fake like "help you with anything... nah? 'aite! (as employee walks away...) Nice selection of shoes. I have bought a few pairs of sneaks here. pricey but have lasted me longer than expected and comfortable to wear. read more

Service is really poor here. They mark discounts and pricing in a get mis-leading way and then act condescending when you ask to clarify. Alex at customer service gave two customers in front of me bags at no charge(even when offered to pay) and then when I asked him for a free bag he denied doing that. I mean, I was 12" away during their transaction... I asked him about the items that were on the same shelf and he told me I had to go look for Alejandra in the store. Really, I have to track down the manger "somewhere in the store"??? There is a store manager here named "Jess" (Jessica) who refused to give out her last name, but swears she is the manager of this store and the Walnut Creek store. Absolutely horrible person who has no idea what good customer service is- she refused to honor a price adjustment after employees in her store had told me that they would honor it (I told them I had forgotten the coupon when I made the original purchase, and they said it was no issue, just come back with the receipt). I have had price adjustments like this before at this store and the Walnut Creek store, and no one has ever given me a hard time, so the issue is with this "Jess" store manager. Only shop here if Jess is not there. And people wonder why people would rather buy stuff on line vs dealing with a brick and motor store- SMH... FYI- originally this person told me her name was Jen, and that's not her real name. When I went back to the store I found out her name was really Jess. So Jess provides poor customer service and then lies about her name so she can't get in trouble. Wow. I'll be waiting for karma to pay her a visit. Also, the other employees at this store (Brittany and Lauren) were trying to defend her and not give out her real name (all they said was that her name wasn't Jen). Then they continued to be difficult with my requested transaction, even though a person from the corporate office had called them earlier and told them to take care of my transaction. After reading reviews for this location and Walnut Creek, I'm shocked that the store hasn't done anything to hire more quality people. The worse customer service... I stood in a long line with my son to look at an over priced Jansport backpack when this young sales lady called us to the counter. I asked to see another back pack for comparison since I already went in line previously to see one. When my son quickly made a choice, we were ready to pay. The sales lady said to get back in line since she was going to take the next person! I said to her that I just came from a long line and shouldn't have to get in line again. She just ignored me. Then another customer was in the same situation as me but she didn't make her stand back in line. She helped her and rang her up right away! I couldn't believe it and when it was my turn after 10 minutes or so, not even a simple thank you was exchanged. I would never ever return to this store. Tillys is a good little store for young peeps. I got my daughter some school clothes here, and everything seems to be about $20, which is great. Cute & trendy. The staff are always really helpful and sweet. It's kind of a surfer/boho vibe. My daughter is 12, so I'm really only tuned into the younger kids clothes, not the teens and young adults, but everything looks like what I'd want to wear if I were in high school or college again. This is like a cheaper version of PacSun. They have lots of cute attire here for boys, girls, women and men. Non-sale items are usually pretty reasonable in price. I've seen a few brands sold at Forever 21 here even. They have a decent selection of all kinds of clothing, shoes, wallets, accessories. It's a good alternative if you don't want to get hassled at the mall for clothing. It makes me feel young again when I shop here...I am young and dress young already but it makes me feel like a teenager when I shop here. Yeah, that's more like it. read more

We've been shopping here for my son's clothes and accessories for several years, and the exceptional service I received today gave me even more reason to continue making Tilly's our first stop for all of those teenage staples. I needed to exchange a relatively expensive Christmas gift to Tilly's because I had ended up with the wrong style somehow. It was an item that stores, including Tilly's, don't normally refund on. But the assistant manager listened to my request and explanation, and after calling three other stores and searching Tilly's online for the style that my son had actually wanted, and not being able to find it, the assistant manager spoke with the manager, who agreed to refund my money. I had been very worried that my son would have to settle for something that wasn't really what he wanted, and I felt like I'd let him down at Christmas. I was worried that Tilly's wouldn't exchange it, but everything turned out fine, thanks to their great customer service. A lot of stores wouldn't have done that, and few stores managers would have been as friendly in the process of dealing with such a return as the assistant manager that I dealt with today was. I went in to exchange a pair of shorts for a bigger size and Aaron assured me not only was the back room unstocked, but that everything was out on the floor. He then proceeded to do my exchange, and said that they would order the size i needed and ship it to my house. I decided to take that route and not only did he have trouble processing the exchange, he overcharged me. I made sure the item would be in the same size and color I wanted them in and he assured me of that. When I got my online receipt, not only did it show that they were not the correct size, but now the correct color. This store has terrible service and I will be using another location, no matter the 10 mile addition. read more

This is a great store if you ask my 13 year old daughter. We do always find SOMETHING to buy here. There is a TON of merchandise. Which is what I say is "the mess". There are racks and racks and racks of stuff everywhere. It is hard to navigate without knocking something over or off the rack. On the positive side, we rarely wait more than a few seconds to be assisted in the dressing/changing rooms. Everyone is friendly. It makes you actually LIKE teenagers again, lol. They have a very small shoe "department" up front and we have been very lucky there. Many clearance or sale items but very little selection. What they do have is usually what's in style and we are the lucky ones to pick up a pair of $48 Vans for $28!!! Yay me!! read more

They claimed to have free blankets for the first 100 customers on Black Friday. I showed up one hour before the store opened and got in line to get one. I saw the managers/employees walk in 5 minutes after I did. They didn't bother to tell us they weren't doing the giveaway until 5 minutes before the store opened. Can I give them ZERO STARS? They need some serious classes on customer service. The clothes are geared towards Tweens and clearly they believe that they can take advantage of that in every way! I went in to shop for the first time because my daughter was talking about it. I asked about their return policy when I purchased a few things for her with the intention of taking them home to see if she liked them and if they fit. I was told, 30 days to return with the receipt and tags attached. Of the 5 items I purchased, 1 didn't fit. I went back a week later to return it and the kid gave me such a hard time. He made me wait an extremely long time and then after all that time he told me that I paid cash therefore he was going to give me store credit. I just about lost it! I have told all my daughters girlfriends moms already and you better bet none of us will EVER step foot in your store again. Tilly's has always been my favorite store until today. My friend & I went today. We went to the underwear section & my friend wanted a piece of gum out of my purse. This worker that was a guy was starting at us. Then rudely this lady came up to us and said "so are you guys going to pay for the underwear you put in your purse?" We opened our purses , and told her there's nothing there we weren't stealing. The fact that she said it in front of other customers & assumed that we stole which we didn't is beyond disrespectful. She yelled at her other co-workers saying "why didn't you ask them?!" I was beyond embarrassed. When my friend went to go buy this cute bralette she told us "don't get bootyhurt, a lot of people your age steal from this store." She assumed and didn't ask permission. Good place to buy clothes & accessories. It's kind of a surf/skater shop (think PacSun), but they have cute stuff for guys, girls, and kids!
