Awesome work for a great price! We just closed on our first home in January and there was some flickering of the lights in the kitchen and it seemed like a few of the lights were burning out a lot faster than they should have been. We called Hewlett and they sent someone out right away and he was awesome! We feared we'd need to rewire the entire kitchen, but he determined the only issue was to replace some of the switches. He went out to buy the parts and came back, was probably at our house for a few hours and we pretty much paid what was probably his hourly rate (including parts and everything.) Our lights went out in the kitchen, old knob and tube wiring. I called Hewlett based on the yelp reviews and spoke to the owner. He was concerned that he would not be able to make the repair as quickly as we needed it, and due to the old wiring wanted someone to check it out sooner. He referred me to another electrician who could get to our house faster. He even called back to check to see if we were able to schedule a repair. Amazing , caring service. This review is long overdue. Meigs, Brian and crew are dependable, courteous, knowledgeable, and engaging. The scope of work included a 200 amp electric panel and a grounded outlet for our new 60'' TV. The project was complete and they were working with headlamps at dusk to give us power in the shortest time possible. Their prices are fair and midrange: I always get 3 bids.The above and beyond was the roof repair and the set up of our Rocketfish powercenter to the new TV.These extras and all the phone calls I made to them to calm an anxious home owner make them outstanding! This company is awesome. I had a great experience from the 1st phone call to the final repair. I left a voicemail late at night, got a call back early next morning and a same-day appointment. The owner was courteous and diligently kept me updated about the service person's arrival time. Kurt, who did the work, was really fantastic. I had 2 rooms with no electricity. He carefully inspected all the electrical connections in my house. After validating that they were in good working condition, he checked out the circuit breakers and found one that was broken. He made a quick trip to Home Depot, replaced the faulty part, then carefully checked to make sure that everything was running properly - all at a very reasonable price! I called to try and get electrician out for a dryer outlet issue. Meigs responded faster than any of the 5 electricians I contacted. As usual with good electricians they are extremely hard to get out on a moments notice. Meigs is owner and was extremely patient listening to my issue even though he stated he did not have time but would refer me to 2 other electricians he trusted. After about 10 minutes talking about issue he suggested I call PGE to verify issue was not theirs. He explained to me in detail what he thought the issue was and why PGE should be called first. As I know enough to be dangerous about electrical, it did make complete sense to me what he was suggesting. I really appreciate how professional he was and taking the time to clearly communicate the options and possible problems. I am very satisfied with their work. They seem to be genuinely passionate about their work and for the homeowners they work with. We had about 3 bids on this project and their bid was the best. They also insisted that we get the permit done which was a good sign since this will allow us to determine if their work was up to code. We felt safe that they will do a great job with the project and they certainly did. They even came out to meet with the inspector which made it very easy to finish this task since they understood what the inspector wanted and as he pointed out one issue (previous homeowner installed an outlet with exposed wiring) they worked it out so quickly that the inspector approved their work in minutes! Since our house is old, some of the electrical work including mentioned above are not up to code and Hewlett Electric helped us with this one issue to cover the advertised 10% discount which we forgot to mention to them. We had recessed lights installed in 2 rooms, kitchen, a main light installed in each bedroom, as well as a fixture on the outside of the house. I couldn't believe it when Meigs said he could install it the next day if I wanted! I want them installed ASAP, but didn't have the fixtures purchased yet for all of the bedrooms and patio. HE was flexible in that they did all of the recessed lights the next day, and came back a week later when I had the fixtures purchased at no additional cost. The guys showed up on time, spent a FULL day installing everything (except the bedroom and outdoor fixtures), and cleaned up afterwards.
