Yes, the food is as amazing as it looks. There is nothing spared in terms of food, service, or the fine details, in making it quite a memorable and lovely dining experience.

We treated ourselves to the chef's tasting menu.
- 5 stars - Parker rolls. Buttery goodness. You'll want to stop at just one but it's very hard to do!
- 4 stars - Appetizers - all meant to be single bites (tart w/trout roe -- oyster w/buttermilk & white fish roe, caviar profiterole, chicken skin w/chicken liver mousse, terrine brioche w/canteloupe amb), 4 stars: We kept comparing everything to that oyster (5 stars). Tying for second is the chicken skin/liver and the tart w/trout roe. The caviar profiterole is good but not as flavorful as the trout roe, and the terrine was not my favorite but I'm not a big fan of pate.
- 5 stars - Kampachi (Amberjack): Arrived as the center star in a bowl of smoke. The buttery fish fell off the fork and the citrus & blackberry flavors permeated the fish in all the right ways.
- 4 stars: - Embered apple w/matsutake, hazelnut & persimmon gel: A unique dish with a melange of flavors that work amazingly well together.
- 5 stars: Butternut squash w/buttermilk taleggio, chile & pecans. The pairing of the butternut squash with the taleggio cheese is delightful.
- 4 stars: Quail w/beet shiokoji marinade, blackened koji. It arrived with a one-minute timer and you sear it on the table top grill. The savory sauce, even with the egg mixed in, was still delicate enough not to overpower the quail. The quail tasted like quail, a bit gamey. It was cooked perfectly though.
5 stars: Scallop, w/pear kosho, beef tallow, mushroom gelee. Charming presentation. A perfectly seared scallop and interesting flavors that somehow blend wonderfully together.
5 stars: Halibut, w/lactic habanada butter, turnip, roe. Again, the buttery, tender fish was perfectly done. The remaining sauce is the reason you'll need that second Parker roll.
5 stars: Dry aged Texas wagyu ribeye, w/mustard greens, oyster mushrooms & potato croissant. The meat was tender and had a nice smoky essence. The oyster mushrooms were heavenly.
3 stars: Buckwheat ice cream w/blackened pear. The buckwheat ice cream is was icy and a somewhat bland, and there were only dots of pear. It wasn't terrible but not great either.

We enjoyed our pre-dinner cocktails at the bar, my Spring gin-and-tonic was refreshing and a nice twist on the classic. My friend had the Bad Rabbit cocktail with dinner and it is unique and oh so tasty! The stamped ice cube is classy. There is a different cocktail menu for dinner, along with an extensive wine list. I opted for a glass of the Mouton Burgundy pinot with my dinner and it was a perfect compliment to my meal.
| Ambience |
The space has divided rooms and we were in the smaller room, which is more intimate, however we did not have a view of the open kitchen which might have been more fun.
| Service |
The service model here is unique, as each dish was brought out and explained by someone different. Service was impeccable and lived up to a fine dining reputation. Our plates were cleared and new utensils provided with every course. read more
