I almost didn't rent from this Hertz location because of the reviews - full stop sooooo glad I went with my gut. My pickup experience was smooth, easy, and genuinely pleasant. First stop on my Birthday trip - so far, so good. Enter: Akeem, a.k.a. Keem! helped me at pickup and he was great from start to finish. He was friendly, patient, explained everything clearlyz. He just had a really kind energy about him. I rent cars often for work / pleasure and I'm a President's Circle member, so I've been to PLENTY of rental locations - this was absolutely one of the better pickup experiences I've had. The car I received was clean! No complaints at all on pickup. Akeem deserves his flowers, and based on my experience, the reviews definitely DID NOT reflect the impeccable service I received. This was the absolute worst experience ever. They rented me a Jeep Compass that had been sprayed with some type of fragrance to mask the smoke smell. The chemical was so heavy that I had to ride off with the windows down but later realized it was their way of riding that smoke. When I called back to the office about a hour in a half of picking up the vehicle to let Kelly, Manager know the smell was giving me a headache and see if he switch me to another vehicle, he said, he would call me back that afternoon to switch vehicles; That never happened. I cut the rental short, from one week to one day. Kelly had the audacity to up charge me for the one day rental. I'm a part of the president circle and was turned away for a reservation, even though I was able to check in for a vehicle and the money has been taken out of my credit card. At the counter, I showed proof of purchase and my check-in information. The gentleman told me that my check-in was not good and that he didn't have a vehicle available. He did not attempt to rectify the issue or help me out. He just gave me a pamphlet and told me to call Customer Service for them to cancel my rental. This may be harsh but I think they should close this location either temporarily or permanently and retrain their staff because what I experienced today was beyond unprofessional. We had a reservation that we booked about a month ago for pick up at 8:30 today. We got there around 8:50 and waited 15 mins for the guy to close out a reservation and inform his staff of their duties for today. Questions for the staff: Why couldn't the team be informed of their duties PRIOR to opening to the public? Can closing a prior reservation wait until the in person customers are situated? & the final straw was that when we finally were set up, he advised that we would need to wait an additional 20 mins for them to clean the car as they were running behind. I've worked in customer service for over 15 years and this level Of service is piss poor!!! I cancelled the reservation and ended up driving my car to TN. Scheduled a rental at the El Dorado location. Needed to be picked up at 8, no one showed up. Called spoke to Lloyd, rude and unhelpful. Said "Oh, we were just talking about you" . Didn't bother to call before my scheduled rental to inform me they didn't have any cars and didn't know when they would. The only thing they could do for me is call when a car showed up. I reserved a Tesla Model 3, received 2 texts confirmations for the reservation then get a call 3 hours before pickup stating that they don't even stock Teslas at this location. And I truly don't know how the guy who rented us the car sleeps at night. He's really an awful person. It all started with the agent letting my dad know that all he had was an EV (that he did not request) available. At first I pushed back because neither of us were familiar with this particular car. However this guy explained to me that the range was 300 miles and that my dad could charge at any Tesla station. Unfortunately, I took him at his word and I deeply regret that. Turns out this car does not charge at Tesla stations and barely charges anywhere else for that matter. To make matters worse, after calling to get assistance this guy tells us he will help, tells my father he will call roadside assistance for him, but we never hear from him again. Who raised this guy??? At least have the courage to say that you're not going to help. Very cowardly. At first I thought there was supposed to be some type of adapter that maybe my dad couldn't find...Nope... According to corporate, these cars don't even come with adapters. Oh, and it gets worse. My dad barely makes it to the next destination. Take the car to another Hertz, only for them to say they can't accept the car back because they can't charge it. WORST rental car experience EVER! I reserved and prepaid for a van because I had family visiting and had to pick them up from the airport. I selected my pick up to be noon but got there about an hour later. I assumed the car would be ready. Christian was the one who helped me, he said something suspicious to an employee and went to go get the car. After about 15 minutes waiting for the car, I asked the lady at the desk how much longer it would be, she said 15-20 minutes because they are cleaning the car. UM Excuse me?! I couldn't have been notified this earlier, when the car should have been ready?!?! No apology either! The lady, Daizia Jackson, I come to find out is the manager was just rude and had no care in the world. She made some excuse that she assumed no one was coming for the car, if I prepaid the car of course I'm coming to pick it up!! Christian finally came to tell me the car was ready, he was so sweaty from cleaning the car himself. He said the cleaners did a bad job cleaning, which I think was a lie. I was in a rush to look at the cleaning job because I had to go to the airport, I just took pictures and left. I was very upset. We rented the car for 4 days and slowly saw how disgusting the car was. When I finally got home from the airport I clorox wiped the entire inside of the car. It was totally unacceptable. My sister got chocolate stains on her shorts from m&ms hidden in the seats. Splashes of coke or coffee all over the front. When I finally dropped off the car, Daiza the "manager" was there. I told her how unhappy I was with the car and wanted to be compensated. Unfortunately because I prepaid, she couldn't take off the taxes I needed to pay. Not sure if that was a lie. She wasn't even a bit apologetic about the whole situation. She just gave me excuse after excuse, this time she said the car was supposed to be picked up at 10am (the reason why it wasn't clean). If it was an earlier pick up then why was it still dirty!?!??! I really wish I read the reviews before selecting this location. This place uses false advertising of its electric vehicles by calling them manager specials. They have limited cars and there are few places to power your electric car but they don t care. Then when I tried to rent a gas car the next day they ran out of cars at last minute even though I reserved one. Yet they still charge me $71.27 even though i have a message on my voicemail that my rental was cancelled. This is the worst car rental location ever, first when I picked up the car yesterday the car I rented they did not have and I received no notice of that. The lady at the counter lacked any kind of customer service and told me if I wanted a car I had to pay extra for what they had in stock and acted like it was my issue. This time it was for personal use and so I went to this location close to my daughter's home. Worst place ever and a rip off was charged for a week but only had the car for 5 days. I was supposed to bring it back after 3 days but the office was closed due to the holidays. There no drop box anywhere. The system allowed me to choose a date that they were closed so I assumed they would be around. There were 2 other customers with similar issues. 1 was allowed to adjust her dates but I was not. Very confusing. I am still waiting for the manager to get back to me or provide me with the corporate number or his managers name. John Scott the office manager is useless so far. Do not rent from this location. They are scam artists. When I arrived to pick up my rental, they did not inform me of the choices on gas replacement. Apparently the guy at the counter chose the option to bring back the car with the same amount of gas. I remember it was at half a tank. I brought the car back after 3 weeks and the other clerk says that I didn't bring it back with 3/4 of a tank. I told him first of all, no one informed me that it was the option on my rental and the tank was only 1/2 full when I picked it up. I was probably 2 gallons short of half full (by chance). He said he had proof that it was 3/4 tank, do I have proof otherwise? No, of course not. And then they charge me for 14 gallons @$9.99 a gallon. It was a 23 gallon tank! So they charged me to fill it up! My only recourse was to call their 800 number. They said tough luck. I don't have proof that it was at half. That the car went out with a full tank! Such BS! The car was NOT clean, NOT a full tank, the windshield wiper fluid could not spray on the windshield. NEVER AGAIN! read more

After our experience with Hertz, I would recommend you find another rental company. We were given a rental from the dealership that was waiting on a part to fix our vehicle. We had the Hertz rental for over two months. When we finally got our own vehicle back, we returned the rental. Even though my husband repeatedly told the employee that the dealership was to be charged for the rental and they ensured him that it would be, we later received an email from Hertz telling us that our credit card was declined for the over $2900 they tried to charge us. My husband had given them a credit card with a low limit because they originally insisted we had to put a card on file. Thank goodness he did that. My husband went again the next day to Hertz to find out what happened, but after waiting 30 minutes just to talk to someone, they couldn't even pull up the account because their system went down. My husband was told they would call him when the system was up again. However, he never hears from them. On top of that, Hertz tried to charge our card again. In addition, my husband received a recording call telling us the rental was overdue to be returned. Now, the dealership is having to get involved to have the situation resolved. Not only has this been a huge mess, but the Hertz employees are also condescending and seem to be put out when dealing with them. The frustration of dealing with Hertz is just not with it. read more

Had an excellent experience recently! Needed a rental car after an accident, and this location had a car ready the next morning. I'm 6'4", so the counter agent was able to put me into a mid-size car. Our Kia Optima was clean and had no issues. About a week after we dropped off the car, I realized I had left my sunglasses inside. I called today, and they had the sunglasses set aside. I've had several good experiences with this location, and heartily recommend Hertz if you need a rental car. read more

HOW DOES A RENTAL COMPANY NOT HAVE ANY CARS ON THEIR LOT??? Their only job is to rent vehicles. This is like going to Chick Fil A and them not having chicken. I felt like I was in an episode of Seinfeld. Hertz understands how to take a reservation but holding it is the most important part. How can you not fill/keep a reservation for a paying customer that booked a month in advance?? After 5 phone calls to this location they finally said they would call me when they got a vehicle...Which of course, they did not. After a few hours of waiting to hear back I made a quick trip to Enterprise on 75 and White. And they were the most accommodating company ever compared to hertz. Enterprise did everything in their power to get me a car and I was out of there within the hour with the vehicle I needed. Thankfully they were able to accommodate me. I rented a van from this location. First, the representative did not use solution to sanitize the vehicle before giving it to us. At the time I didn't think much of it because I didn't think they were sanitizing the vehicles. The van was filthy and we had visitors coming out of the vents on our way to our destination (ants), on our way back as well. Those critters were everywhere and even crawling up our legs at times. We rented the vehicle until September 7th which was labor day but the representatives failed to tell me that they would not be in the office therefore I would not be able to return the keys on the planned day. They don't even have a drop off box to return keys. So I was on the phone with Hertz for almost 4 hours on my holiday to let them know that an extra charge day would not be fair since on their website they don't have Labor day as a holiday and the representatives in the office failed to tell me they would not be in. Sure enough they charged me an extra day. The next day I returned the keys first thing in the morning and the guy who took my keys very nonchalant said "I'm sorry all I can do is take $50 off your bill for the inconvenience" didn't even seem very apologetic. Be careful with this location. I was charged for a tank of gas even though I never agreed to prepay for a tank. Because this rental was being provided by another person's insurance, we were told that all the charges were covered. I would have never chose to prepay a tank of gas. I don't need you charging $5/gallon just to fill a tank. They refuse to refund the amount. Now I know why I always use Avis for all my business travel. Hertz Car Rental is one of the worst places that I have ever had to do business. Personal car was wrecked (everyone is ok). Insurance company insists on going through Hertz. I got the rental reservation confirmation today, called immediately & was told to come in as they can't deliver the car. Husband had to take off work to give me a ride to their office. I got there about an hour after my phone call only to be told that they didn't have any vehicles available since they don't actually "reserve" them. The Hertz rental agent's best suggestion was for me to come back at 9 am when they open in the morning & hope someone returns a car before they close at noon. I understand why they had to file for bankruptcy in May. Any other business that uses Hertz Car Rental for their customers should be aware that this company will probably make yours look bad. read more

Reserved a full size SUV three weeks previous. When we went to pick it up, they had no full size SUV available, even though we had a reservation number and gave that to the agent. He acted as if he had no idea what we were asking him about. To his credit, he called to the Frisco office and had them hold one for us, but we had to drive there to get it. This created quite a time crunch for us as we were not anticipating any issues. While we were there, several customers were waiting and also seemed unhappy and had been waiting quite a while. I had a reservation and I was in route to pick up the vehicle and I call and spoke to a sales clerk to let them know I would be there before closing. Due to traffic I got there 2 minutes after closing time. The location was lights out and doors locked. This was after I had spoken to a sales clerk 25 minutes prior......is this the way to treat long standing Gold Member /Presidential circle members? Major waste of time and jeopardized the important meeting that I had to be at early the next morning. I won't ever do business at that location again.
