Chicken tenders! Yummy!!!
Peter L.

I love the atmosphere at this great gem hiding in Gaithersburgs semi industrial park - no frills and when you sit at the bar you drink - play keno and order the great fried chicken!!! The bands play and the people dance - fun place and I recommend it!

À very generous platter of two-piece white fried chicken with coleslaw and fried okra

I had an appointment to install my car alarm, and had to wait a couple of hours until the installation was done, so I went on a, search for a place to have lunch, and, serendipitiously, stumbled upon Hershey's. I got there a couple of minutes before they open-ended, but I was invited to wait in one of their outside tables. It gave me some time to look around the place. Hershey's is tucked away in a semi-industrial area of Gaithersburg, right across the railroad tracks. It has a lovely patio outside, which I am sure would be great in the summer months. The establishment is primarily a local watering hole with a well-stocked bar that also serves a limited but substantial menu. The dishes seem to be influenced by Southern cooking. There are multiple tables, which by the time I left were busy with patrons. Following what is usually my preference, I sat at the bar. I ordered one of their beers on tap, Kona, which was refreshing. I ordered one of their fried chicken platters, the two-piece white, which came with two sides, and mine were fried okra and coleslaw. There is a 25 minute wait whenever you order fried chicken, because it is fried "a la minute" (to order), and that meant receiving a wonderful plate of fried chicken that was shateringly crispy outside and juicy and moist on the inside. The chicken was well seasoned, and so where the crispy fried okra. The servings were generous! I want also mention the wonderful service I got at the bar, where I appreciated the conversation with the bartender. Hershey's was a little gem that deserves to be visited more than once!

3 piece thigh with 2 sides $15. Deal!

Hands down some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. Light, crispy and well seasoned batter. Just how I like it. I ordered the 3 thighs with a side of Mac and Collards ($15). The Mac was ok. It's not your traditional homemade Mac and cheese. It was very one note with not a lot to it. The greens were my least favorite. They didn't have any flavor and again, weren't your traditional big leafy fresh collards. I'm always a little weary of finely chopped collards. We went in on a Friday evening when it was pretty busy and they were short staffed. I was ok with that because the fried chicken, which is what I went there for was AMAZING. My guess is the 3.5 star rating they have has a lot to do with the service. If you're ok with sacrificing the service for good food you should give it a try. Will def be back!!

Ask the Community - Hershey's Restaurant

I know they have music, but how's the dance floor? Is there ample room enough for dancing?

Hershey's has a dance floor and ppl boogie by the bar as well. We're not talking ball room size, but comfortable

This is a downside, but they are very good one of my favorite things of them is that they have the perfect amount of spice to get me out of my comfort zone, but not be torture me.(I have an above average spice tolerance.) Cheesling wings. I normally love these things, but I normally get them in boneless. I asked for them boneless to the person taking orders. I got home and realized I hadn't gotten boneless (also bone in wings cost a dollar more. Yes, I was charged for bone-in wings. I looked at the receipt.) Cheesling fries. These were ok, but I don't think the cheese powder added much (it was very sweet. Almost gross but bearable) to them next time. I'll probably just get the regular fries. I will continue to eat from here. But I will be contacting the store tomorrow about my wings not being boneless. The ambience was OK multiple televisions playing multiple different programs and a nice looking bar. Another problem was that Maps app says that this place is open till nine but my friends and I got there at 8:30 and the person working upfront said that we have to order takeout and they don't serve food in front past eight

No, these aren't hand made noodles but the amount of cheese, the seasoning, evening l everything else was done expertly. If you want to save yourself an hour or two of cooking mac and cheese at home, get it here. The atmosphere here is very home cooking. It doesn't feel like it's some massive cookie cutter operation. It's nostalgic. This is what comfort food is supposed to taste like. Eating it made me think about fun times with the family back in Florida. While I made the order online, I was greeted as soon as I walked up to the counter. My order was done exactly when it said it would be done and was made with my additional request. I couldn't it be happier and look forward to many more orders and glad to have this place in the neighborhood.

I ordered the chicken wings and they were delicious. Super flavorful with a really good sauce (the kind you keep thinking about after you're done). Everything is a la carte here. The sandwich comes with no sides, no drink, nothing. This makes it a fairly expensive buy. It came out in a cardboard clamshell, even though I was eating there, and it's literally just a chicken piece slathered with pickles and honey sauce between two slices of toasted bread. It's okay, but only just, and I'll left feeling like I've eaten at some sort of industrialized institution, not a local restaurant. There is nothing special, and the overall feeling is a pretty boring sandwich.
