5 - main course, service 4 - sides, cleanliness On a summer weekday, I had a meeting here at 8AM. The place was empty when we arrived, and we were seated on the outside deck. By the time we left at 9:30, the place was packed inside and out! I ordered the vegetable omelet with feta cheese. Best omelet ever! My restaurant omelets are usually overcooked, dry & cold even straight out of the kitchen. This was fluffy, warm, moist and cooked to perfection. I'm still thinking about it a week later. The potatoes that come with the omelet were very tasty, but they had a very strange texture. They were like plastic. I sent them back and asked them to be crisped. They cooked them almost burnt (cool!), but the odd texture was still there. I am a huge fan of breakfast potatoes, so this was a huge disappointment. In general, the place was very clean; however, under our table was a huge chunk of chocolate. Had I stepped in it and it melted on a hot summer day...ugh. There was no excuse for the cleaning crew not to see it, since the tables outside are glass and transparent. It had to have been there at least overnight. The hostesses were very friendly and the waitress was very accommodating. No attitude at all from my nice waitress about me sending back the potatoes, which I appreciate. I will come back again for lunch--I want to try that burger. read more

Service is nice, but I guess I shouldn't be too surprised that a corporation that specializes in sugar doesn't know how to deliver on a salad. I ordered the Caprese Salad with marinated tomatoes and was dismally disappointed. The tomatoes were old, like REALLY old. Just because you are marinating them doesn't mean you let them sit for days in the fridge. They were going from red to brown and had that unpleasant grainy texture old tomatoes get. Had to ask the server for fresh tomatoes to eat with it, which were fine. The greens were great and so was the cheese, but way over dressed. Leaves were drowning in the vinaigrette. Also check your glasses. I asked for tea and both of my mugs were dirty and the teapot had to be replaced because there were fibers floating in my first pot. The atmosphere in here is really nice and I think I just had ordered the less popular items. Will probably come back and order a chocolate martini next time. This place is an amazing find just outside of the park. The bread and cheese is exceptional in all of their items. I had the best cheese steak here of my life! The place was busy, but I was able to get a seat relatively quickly. My whole family was able to find what they wanted on the menu, including the picky eaters. Everyone enjoyed the brownie and ice cream dessert at the end of the meal, you really know you are in Hershey eating the rich food. Eat here and then go to the park. read more

Over priced. Honestly you can go somewhere else and get a good dinner. No season on fries, steak was dry and lacking flavor and salt, vegetables were decent, but only one choice of vegetable :/ pulled pork sandwich: meat was dry and no real BBQ sauce. Pretty good overall. Had a reservation and were seated right away. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Kids meals were ok. My kids didn't eat the majority of it complaining they didn't like it but who knows the real reason. I had a salad and was kind of disappointed that the chicken on it was fried but my fault for assuming it was grilled. Hubby liked his burger. We didn't want to leave the hotel since we just arrived so good option for staying there. read more

There were several gluten free options, including gluten free sandwiches and fries- they even brought me separate butter for gf toast without even needing to be asked! Excellent food! Ignore "otherwise" ratings. We travel all over the world and while the Hershey Grill is not necessarily "global dining" they have excellent food, superior service, and our family craves their burgers and food! Breakfast is awesome! So for those "not coming back" - sorry - your loss. If something was wrong during your visit please allow me to ask - did you speak with the management? While staying at the Hershey Lodge we chose to eat here. The service was fast and courteous. We ordered the Sunday special (prime rib and mashed potatoes). They were great. It was a HUGE serving size (with enough leftovers for 2 days), and well worth the price. I took away 1 star simply because the salad dressing could have tasted better. Friendly staff and family atmosphere. Would definitely return when in the area. read more

After visiting Hershey many times over the years, this is the first time I've eaten at the Grill. The place is small but very nice, There is an enclosed outdoor area that's really pretty. The place seems have been a coffee shop at sometime in its life with booths, tables and counter seats. Its really decorated very nicely and its very comfortable. The food was good. Fresh and hot. i had the Mahi Mahi special and its was quite good. Service was efficient and friendly. Reasonably prices as well. read more

After an enjoyable trip to Chocolate World on Friday, came back to the Lodge to get cleaned up, get some dinner, and then head back to the park for our "preview" night. Had low expectations for any food at the Lodge, to be honest. So Hershey Grill was a very nice surprise, and we had an enjoyable meal by any measure. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the unseasonably cool weather. My wife and I shared two of their entree salads: coconut chicken and seared tuna (which I knew was really going out on a limb), and both were quite good. The proteins were fresh, as were the greens. The dressings were also well made, not cloying and sweet like dressings at many hotel/mid-level restaurants tend to be. The fried calamari appetizer was also enjoyable, tender and light. My complaint would be that there was not enough calamari. Enjoyed the fried banana pepper slices that were also part of the appetizer, but they made up nearly half of the plate. My kids both ordered from the kids menu -- pizza and mac n' cheese -- and both items were good. Our service was excellent. So overall I have nothing but good things to say about Hershey Grill. Again, given that it has a pretty broad clientele to serve, the fact that we could get such an enjoyable meal was a very pleasant surprise and helped keep our good time rolling. read more

Hershey is such a magical place and the country cooking of rich food was charming as we enjoyed our anniversary. Our server recommended our meals and we took all of her suggestions. My husband had meatloaf with mash potatoes, gravy and mixed veggies as I had a pasta dish. Very rich food indeed that reminded me of comfort foods. Let me be clear, the four stars are for the food -- this was our second visit to the Hershey Grill and for the second time, service was extremely slow. The restaurant was packed at 4:30, probably many like us who opted for an early dinner before going to see the AHL's Hershey Bears play at the nearby Giant Center. Our server stopped by to apologize for the wait and said she would be right back....and 30 minutes later she did come back! At that point, we opted to order everything from drinks to appetizers to entrees in the hopes it wouldn't be 30 minutes and so we could get to the game on time. The menu changes with the seasons so it is always interesting to see what's available. They had a lot of good specials and so much choose from it can be hard to decide. The food was quite tasty once it did arrive. Half of our party opted for the Crab and Corn chowder to start and we were not disappointed. The chowder was chock full of crab, hot and that nice thick consistency that is so comforting on a snowy day. I opted for the marinated skirt steak that was cooked perfectly and the Asian marinade was quite nice. Served on a bed of rice with bok choy, the only odd thing to me was the mass of grilled onions on top that seemed slightly at odd with the Asian flair of the dish. My son opted for the meatloaf, which had mashed potatoes and a jalapeno cheddar biscuit. The portion of meat was huge and surprisingly, so was the biscuit. He declared it delicious and not a bite of meatloaf was left. My other son had the Hershey Burger which was also huge. It was cooked to perfection and came with such a huge side of fries it looked like he didn't touch any. My husband opted to have the Philly cheese steak quesadillas to accompany his chowder and he said they were quite good. Two filets rounded out the meals at our table -- again delicious. The homemade worcheshire sauce makes a return visit quite likely! With the warm rolls, they served a garlic herb butter, a chocolate butter, and a pesto dipping sauce. Two of our party wanted just plain butter -- our server was willing to bring, but noted it would take several minutes. While it took a few minutes, thankfully not a full 30! All in all, I recommend the Hershey Grill and now you are warned about the service! read more

This is a sad place and lacks lightening .... I went there with a party of 8 to have lunch (around 2PM) close to New Years. It looks like a diner that needs an uplift to be honest. To call this restaurant a "grill" it is quite deceiving. The food was ok but nothing special, matter of fact I had to eat a burger because my first and second options in the menu weren't available. The staff is friendly but very, very slow!. The place is clean, the food is ok but go to this restaurant only if you don't have another choice--- definitely not a place to have a real dinner. Not coming back here...., rather go in the corner street from the hotel to the Italian restaurant that is really good. read more

This place needs updating. Decor is very dated and lighting is very dark. Bathrooms have stone tile floors with grout that should have been cleaned years ago. Food is just so so. I had the short ribs stroganoff, my wife had roast duck and my mother in law had spaghetti Bolognese. We noticed an overall greasy taste to the food in general. We are here for a convention and decided to sit outside with great weather......the food was terrible........we split a burger med rare that came out as a hockey puck (probably bubba burger) and sweet potato fries that were dried out and cooked yesterday we think?.......the manager came out and gave us 5 bucks off......big deal......on the positive side the beer was good and the waitress was nice read more

Poor service. Ok food. Overpriced. Iced tea tasted powdered. Were sat all the way in the back for lunch even though it was not crowded. Maybe because we were with little kids? This is Hershey resort, so not unusual to have kids with you for lunch. Dreary/dated decor without enough lighting. Slow service. We were tossed the check without being offered dessert. Then waited to pay, and went to the front to pay and waitress gave the check to us while she was walking by talking to someone else. We will not be back. read more

This place was quite the surprise. The outside looks like an old diner, like an upscale Denny's and the decor isn't that great. But the food, seriously, delicious. I came in for dinner last night, with 2 co-workers. I had the veg risotto. Typically, I don't purchase food I can make @ home, but the ingredients made me wonder. The risotto, perfect al dente, which I love. The portion is really big, could be 2 or 3 meals. 1 had a pork loin - cooked to order, which seemed surprising - but cooked perfectly! His veggies looked amazing - again, perfectly cooked. 2 had the short rib Stroganoff - he said it was terrific. Don't be put off by the outside. This place is deceptively delicious!! read more

The Hershey Grill is our go-to spot every time we visit Hershey, PA. It's a nice, convenient spot with great dinner options, good prices, and perfect for upscale family dining. It has great parking available and is just a few minutes away from the park, providing a better option for dining than park food or some of the local chain restaurants. There's a nice selection of appetizers, salads, burgers and sandwiches and entrees. So you can get a salad, burger or NY strip. Great options on the kids menu as well. It has every meal covered, and is also very affordable. Decent wine and beer menu as well. It is also connected to the Hershey Lodge, so it's nice to walk off a big meal and check out the lodge cocktails or gift shops. And the chocolate butter - it's worth the trip alone! read more
