The owner doesn't behave professionally, very rude not communication skills nor emotional intelligence, He get overexcited so fast. He has luck of client understanding. He is rude, like talk over a client to shout you down and win his point. When he wins, he likes to mock you as client. He doesn't respect his client's privacy; he talks about client experiences and concerns to his peers and in front of other clients. He lies, stating that everyone in his salon is independent, yet he is the one who dictates to his Peers to denied service to customers. He does not have discretion nor decency to solve client issues. Life is full of issues and a business owner should be trained exactly for that and to solve problems. He is too arrogant. Very poor behavior and service for a Hair salon that receives 10's of clients daily. Stylish did not ask me about if I am allergic to something. My scalp was burning like fire while she was coloring and at home I had a bumps on my scalp. I went there out of emergency because I had a big event, and my hair stylist was in vacation and the reviews was good. Sophia, it seems studying different degree but not passionate to do hair. She doesn't seems acknowledging her clients' needs, but she decided to do what she likes. I ask her to have a long-layered hair cut an ashy dark blonde root touch up only, so in the future I can keep the same color, and she did the opposite, dark neutral brown hair color and non-layered haircut, plus she forgot to have even finish. After washing I realized it was not even haircut. She may be good, but she does take time for her clients and just want to do fast for money. In addition to that, This salon mislead it's prices. The website states First time hair cut and color touch up and complementary blow dry was $160.00 but I was charged $190.00 Was my first time and very bad experience. I have enjoyed this salon and the stylist Thomas for over a year. This last appointment left me in shock with the verbal barrage I got from Thomas. I wanted to let him know I was unhappy with the repeated schedule change this week and his arriving late even with the change. Before I could say anything he started talking at me very forcefully and loud about how he knew I was unhappy with his being late and he had a family and his schedule was hard to keep. I made an online blowout appointment and loved how easy the website was. I got confirmation of time, date and cost via email. About two hours before my appointment, I received a text from the stylist saying the website designer had not updated the prices and the blowout cost was actually more than 30% above the quoted / confirmed price. When I said "Thank you, but I won't be coming then", the stylist texted that I would be charged for a late cancellation without 24 hours notice. I replied that there would be no justification whatsoever for any charge given that she was not honoring my written appointment confirmation. Needless to say, I would never go to this salon or let this stylist work on my hair, and I wonder if the owner knows her stylists are communicating in this way with potential new customers. read more

Margaret Delmore- my mom, Lisa came in and saw you on Saturday the salon was so accommodating. I was able to book my mom on the morning of the appointment online very easily. My mom arrived very excited to get her hair done and you did not disappoint, by far one of the best haircuts she has ever had. My mom has a bit of a curl to her hair and you gave her a really beautiful bob hair cut and it styles so nicely curly or blow dried. She mentioned that you were very kind, warm, and loved that you listened to what she wanted to do with her hair. She is incredibly happy and will be booking with you again. Thomas Lauduski- after seeing how incredible my moms hair was I decided to book a cut when I was back in town. I met with Thomas who was so wonderful to work with he gave me the best hair cut and style. He was very kind and fun! I am so happy with my haircut it is exactly what I wanted and needed! I can't wait to come back! You are a true artist and your passion shows in your work. I am so happy with my hair! If you are looking for a new salon this is the place. Excellent haircuts/hair styling but you will have to have the patience of a saint to get through the appointment. I've had my hair done by Issam and he is amazing, but he is hyper to the max and will chat with every single person in the salon while cutting your hair. He literally will stop with my hair and walk up to another hairstylist or client and start chatting away about their weekend plans. Drives me batty. If I didn't love the way Issam does my hair I would never return but he does have a true gift. I almost have to go to yoga after the hair appointment to just chill out. If you are way more mellow than I am then you won't have a problem. If you want great hair then check this place out for sure, you will leave with great hair. read more

PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!! My friend cut her hair a while ago there, and Mark did the most perfect cut I have ever seen. We decided to go to get a hair cut, but I think it was a real mistake. The stylist did a awful work in our hair. We are very sad, and very disappointment with the results. He only used the thinning shear and razor to cut my hair, even though I asked him to cut my ends, and do some layers. He didn't finish my haircut, because he was trying to fix my firmed hair. It is very sad to see the results at home, we had to straighten our hair at home, and I'll share the picture so you can see how bad he cut our hair. We had to pay $50, but I want them to give us our money back.... now we need to wait at least three months to find someone to fix what this stylist did to our hair... read more

I'm constantly shocked at the poor chairside manner of hairstylists. They don't seem to have any respect or understanding for my vulnerability. Sitting low while they loom over me with sharp objects. Topless under a cape. Putting how people see me into the hands of a stranger. Spending a lot of time and money on a roll of the dice. Lack of common language (Texturize? Razor cut? Look up "bob" and you'll see a million different interpretations) I don't need to be fawned over, but I do need to feel seen, heard and respected. I've been watching The Bear and the way the staff - especially at the high end place with the forks - talked about serving the client made my heart turn to mush. I would pay a lot of money if I knew I would treated like that at a salon and that I would leave looking and feeling great. The appointment didn't start auspiciously. After confirming several times though the automated system, I got a text late the night before from the stylist confirming again. Then he was late for the appointment without apology. I brought several photos to give an idea of the direction I wanted to go. He basically talked fast through them using a lot of haircutting terms I didn't understand and said, "Pick one." I said, "I need some guidance and understanding of my options" He said, "I'm not going to cut your hair until you tell me exactly what you want. I've had clients get home and then call me and tell me they hate it. Or worse, their husbands hate it." The conversation was so frustrating. Me asking for guidance and recommendations, him saying both that we need to work together and for me to tell him what to do. It was clear this was not a match made in hair heaven and I didn't feel confident or comfortable with this stylist, so I left. read more

It had taken me 2 weeks to get the courage to share my honest experience at this salon. Here it goes .. I made an appointment with Thomas the owner of the salon at the suggestion of my sister, who said that he did excellent work. Upon arrival we had a consultation and I felt that he had listened to my ideas as to what I wanted as a look. I put my trust in him as I thought that as a professional, he had listened to what I had requested. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Not only did he not give me the look that I wanted, but when I tried to explain to him what needed to be done he became very rude and argumentative. This made me very very uncomfortable, and quite frankly embarrassed, as there were other customers and stylists nearby.. After the glowing recommendation that he got from my sister. I was quite surprised at this reaction I have never been treated this way before by any salon, professional. I walked out of the salon with a horrible haircut and an experience that I would characterize as unprofessional and downright mean . I'm writing this review not out of spite but to let other potential customers know what to expect. Should they ruffle this man's feathers and not agree with what he thinks is a haircut. honestly this was the worst experience and worst color of my entire life. i had my hair done by jenny baker. i came in with a photo of a dark chocolate brown to light chocolate brown color melt. i assume my appointment was for a full highlight and color which i thought would be able to achieve my goal. i know my base color was lighter than the picture but since jenny already said she was going to darken my roots and base color i assumed the lighter base color was not an issue. but jenny made me blonde. she gave me a heavy blonde balayage at the bottom with blonde stripes highlights that went to my root. she also gave me a darker brown base color so i looked like an early 2000's pop star. i explained that this wasn't what i wanted so jenny said she would put a darker demi over the bright yellow highlights. jenny insisted the entire time that my hair looked like the photo, and was unprofessionally resilient to darkening the highlights like i wanted. she was rude and upset. but she did anyways, and they looked largely the same. she took photos of my hair at this point because she was so in love with her highlighting work. it looked nice, but it was not what i wanted to paid for. i honestly encourage her to post them as it will show how stark the difference was between my inspiration photo and what she gave me. after the second time i asked her to darken them again since they looked the same. this is probably because she was repeatedly saying she didn't want to remove the highlighrs she worked so hard on. out of desperation, since she was still insisting my bright blond, blocky highlights were the same color as the dark brown to milk chocolate brown hair picture i had brought in, i showed her a picture of dark brown hair. i thought maybe she saw pictures as lighter than they were. i was actually right since the third round brought me the closest to my inspo. however she missed several spots. when i pointed these out she said "i am so pissed off right now" and roughly slapped some color on top. she did not cover all of the patches. my hair now has horizontal banding on it. the whole appointment cost $325 and i'm going to have to pay about that much to get it color corrected by a professional stylist. i am now $650 down, with damaged hair dye to jenny lifting it to a light blonde. i gave her four chances to correct her mistakes and she refused to, even saying "i don't want to cover these highlights i worked so hard on" and "i'm so mad right now" and "i'm not going to cover them completely". she was increasingly angry and rude as i asked her to deliver the photo i brought and not what she wanted. clearly she was executing her vision instead of mine, but i'm the one who paid for it. the banding is horrific. the end result is horrific. the damage from her bleaching me to a light blonde despite this contradicting my inspiration photo, is horrific the price i'm going to have to pay to fix this, and what i have already paid, is horrific. this hair appointment was a christmas gift from my mom and she now has had to dispute the charge with her credit card company. and jenny lost a loyal customer in my mom, who was a repeat customer for years, the one who set up the appointment since she had such faith in jenny's skills, and was there for the last two rounds of color correcting. she was horrified by how she was treating me, and how rude and angry jenny was. all i want is a refund. $650 is a lot of money to spend on brown hair. update: jenny issued an incomplete, $200 refund. she still maintains she gave me what i asked for. how anyone can look at the two photos and say they are the same is utterly beyond me. clearly we see color differently, which is a dangerous situation when it comes to hair health and hundreds of dollars. luckily i was able to get my hair fixed for $145 at a different salon. i have no issue paying for good hair. i have paid over $400 for color jobs before. but to me, her work simply isn't worth the money, and her attitude and refusal to admit error are extremely offputting. read more

Very disappointed experience. I visited this place before and Marc worked on my hair perfectly, that's why I decided to go again with a friend but this time with different stylist. I explained very clear what I wanted and even showed a picture... the result was totally different of what I asked. I have a very voluminous hair and for some reason he (the stylist) thought I wanted to get rid of that. So, he used this scissors to crop the volume from the bottom layers and left it abundant on the top ones!! I never saw him using any other scissors besides the thinning shear and the razor! Not cut design at all. Ask him to cut just 2 inches from the layers and was definitely much more than that. On the other side with my friend, he barely cut her hair. Again using just a razor. When I called to schedule the appointment he said blow dry was included with the price. Guess what? He did not do blow dry either on me or my friend. And when I asked the receptionist why the other costumers were getting blow dry after haircut she said that each stylist has his own policies?? So I was going to be charged just $50 instead of $75? I can pay the $75! I just wanted to have a complete and good service and experience! And I feel so bad because I recommended to my friend and she was totally disappointed. I got a "full highlights" appt, it looks great! The woman who did my hair, i think her name is Jenny, has a 26ish+ years experience. She inspired me to make a Yelp account. Unfortunately, I give 4 stars per the phone conversation I had with the staff. I told her I've never been there before. After talking about what services I'll be needing, she extended my appt time and said I may need a "base color" service plus highlights. She hung up fast(I'm sure they're busy), so I went online for the prices. The website estimates $150+ for highlights, and I assumed maybe $250 at the most. Sorry it was $400 (including tip) without base coloring. She charges by the hour. I wish I wasn't surprised and feel embarrassed by my reaction. I recommend the staff inform new clients the hourly charge. Jenny is excellent though and my coworkers love my highlights. I recommended this salon too. Anyways, I'll be returning customer. read more

Holly was my absolute favorite hair stylist I've been to in the Bay Area thus far. Let me start off by appreciating her patience. I came in sort of having an idea about what I wanted but wasn't so sure but after a series of questions Holly asked, I knew exactly what I wanted! During the process, Holly was excellent at conversation and also gave really good pointers about hair care in general which could also save me money while also having my hair look it's very best. Also, I haven't had another person shampoo my hair besides myself but not only did she shampoo my scalp but massaged it as well! It felt like I was getting 5 star spa treatment. Even though the process was amazing, nothing compared to the finished look which had me almost crying tears of joy. My self confidence in myself seemed to burst through the roof and I couldn't have appreciated her work any more than I have. I had a wonderful experience with Kristin last week. She was very careful with creating tiny segments for my full highlights - spending a total of 3 hours on me. The results are fabulous, and many people have commented on my great color. On top of the results, the process itself was very enjoyable. I have been coming to see Talia for all my skin issues for a over a year and my skin has never looked so good! I had extreme hyperpigmentation, uneven skin texture and typical signs of aging. Talia customized my treatments and used fibroblasting to tighten my wrinkles which are now barely noticeable. I feel more confident now in my 40's then I did in my 30's!
