Finally tried Hermie's. I had the basic hamburger with fried zucchini (served with ranch dressing) and my husband tried the Navajo taco. Both were good. We took them next door to Main Street park as we had our dog with us. Sitting inside waiting for our order I thought it was a little loud (busy with a 1/3 of the tables occupied on a Saturday around 6:30pm). We were able to step right up to order as they were well staffed. The workers kept busy between orders and the gal who took our order was helpful and friendly. We'll come back and try some of their other items for sure. Be sure to notice the paper on the counter. It describes what comes on their burgers, a few of their sandwiches & the 2 dinner choices. A really good place to get a hamburger, fries, and similar type food. My 1/4 pound cheeseburger was excellent. My wife loved her chicken sandwich. She thought the onion rings were really good, to me, they were just ok. I like more onion and less breading. But I did order a shake and it was excellent. A smaller cup than you usually see, but also a lower price. And a very fair price for all items that we ordered. The staff was very good. Friendly and efficient. We were told by a friend that Hermie's was a must try if going to Cedar City. So glad we took their advice, it was amazing! We ordered two different burgers, zucchini sticks, waffle fries and a chicken dinner. Everything was so good, I couldn't believe how soft the fry bread was. Don't be discouraged if the line is long, the employees get the orders in and the food out quickly. All the staff is also super friendly and helpful with what to pick on the menu. So I think this place has potential. We went through the drive through and he food we got was actually pretty good but the thing that takes the three stars off was when the girl brought out our Ice Creams she didn't have any gloves on or napkins but was ACTUALLY TOUCHING our cones. The food was surprisingly really great. The mozzarella sticks were fantastic. The curly fries were some of the best I've ever had. My sister had sweet potato fries and is extremely picky, and she loved them. Even my toddlers ate all their food. We tried the butterfinger milkshake and it was really good. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars was the service. Overall it was good - but our original cashier input my order incorrectly, even though she read it back right, causing a bit of a ruckus in getting it fixed. Honestly not a huge deal and the woman who appeared to be a manager/supervisor was very helpful with me, I saw similar behavior with others with that particular cashier - not very personable, didn't smile at all, halfhearted thank yous, etc. We will definitely be back and if the service was a one off, I will update my review to 5 stars. I came here after over a week in the desert and not having eaten anything real since. I decided to stop here since I was driving through Cedar City and this place did not disappoint! The staff was super welcoming (especially since I probably looked homeless) and the food was phenomenal. I got the hermie burger and fried mushrooms. The burger was one of the best burgers I had eaten, even compared to the ones back home in New York. My only regret was not ordering more food from here since I ate it so fast. It's a cute small diner coming into cedar city! They have a drive through which had Atleast 5 cars in line. There were maybe 4-5 parties dining in. The burgers are decent size, not too big not too small. The burgers are tasty, like a good ole regular cheeseburger! It taste and feels like home, if that makes any sense. It's hard to compare it to big chains because the atmosphere is different. It's a quick bite for anyone on the go and want to sit down to eat really quick. The quality was better than expected. For 4-5$ a burger, it is appropriate portions.. atleast for what an average American should be having. ( I am from La where the burgers are larger and close 3x as much) so it was nice to have a quick filler after a 3 hr drive! The hotdog was delicious. Definitely get it with everything. We were there from order to finish in about 35 min! (2 burgers, fries, chicken strips and hotdog for 4 people) I would recommend this place to anyone coming out of town! The food was excellent, the staff were extremely friendly, and the atmosphere was great. It's obvious this is a popular stop for most of the locals here in Cedar City. I think what I ordered was the homey burger, and it was gigantic. I was also surprised to see pricing was fairly reasonable. Even their ice cream shakes were still under four bucks a shake. This is a delicious old-school diner. The service is great in the ambience takes you back to a time when things were more simple. I love the menu. Options is the include burgers, Navajo, tacos, sandwiches, shakes, fries, etc. Sometimes I like to come here and just get my go to raspberry Oreo shake, I'll get an order of fries as well and some fry sauce. Fries are delicious and a little bit thicker than normal and are fried very well. The fry sauce is probably my favorite in town and paired with their french fries and the shake is a meal in and of itself. Not to mention their burgers are awesome! My go to burgers are the jalapeño burger as well as the mushroom Swiss burger the jalapeño burger actually has fresh jalapeños, which make it even more delicious. If you are local, be sure to stop by more often, if you are from out of town, put this on your list as a place to stop by next time you come through. Seemed like it was mostly high schoolers mannning the place. They did a fine job overall in my opinion. Service was friendly and the dining area clean. After ordering at the counter, we found a spot to sit and wait. Food did take awhile, but I felt it was worth it. My burger and fries were tasty and satisfying. Ok first off the food is amazing. We got a Navajo taco which is a flatbread with taco toppings and it was very filling for under $8 without tax and tip. I was able to make two meals out of it. The prices are very reasonable here. Unfortunately there are no COVID precautions so I hate to make this a mediocre review. We sat in the drive-thru line and the workers literally walked up to our windows with no masks on and asked us for our orders. I appreciate trying to more things along as it appears their drive thru system isn't working but it defeats the purpose of safety if you come up to us without a mask.
