Delicious comfort food high on the mountain and very close to a lake! I like to disappear for a minimum of a week at a time especially in the summer months to Panguitch Lake and this is the only good place to eat. I can say this because I've tried every other place on the lake and they are unfortunately terrible. Burgers is their specialty but I very much appreciate that they also have weekly specials like tacos, ribs, and even steak. The regular menu also features other American favorites such as chicken fingers, fish & chips, salads, fries, hot dogs, shakes, ice cream, etc. The prices are a tad on the high side but just remember that you're in the middle of nowhere and not near any small city or let alone big city. It's all outdoor seating and the weather is pure heaven. The air is as fresh as it gets. When Vegas is experiencing triple digits it's typically in the mid 70's here. Soooooo grateful! Burgers are always juicy and made to order. People are friendly and everyone is in a good mood because they're on the mountain. Pro tip: they offer free wifi. If you need it you'll find it here because the rest of the lake is pretty much in a dead zone unless you check into a hotel. We were not impressed with our burgers. The beef flavor was lacking. The burgers were a plain grey color- like they were cooked at a very low temp. No browning at all like you get when you cook at a higher temp-which IMO adds to the flavor. The bun was thick and dry. When I bit into my burger all I tasted was the thick dry bun and nothing but some kind of garlicky burger seasoning. We didn't finish our burgers. Maybe being out of towners- this is just not the flavor we are used to (we felt the same way about a lot of the restaurants in Springdale, UT). This place has great reviews so most people must like it. We were in Panguitch to camp and this was our planned dinner for our first night. We had seen the reviews a few weeks ago and we were excited to try it. Will we return? Most likely because we really liked the campground and it's not like there are a lot of places to eat in Panguitch. We definitely won't get burgers next time though. I tired our friend's brisket, and it was good. The ranch dressing was really good. The fries were good too. The staff were nice and I really liked the cute little gift shop they have. So I'm out with my family this weekend staying in Brian Head because we love going to Panguitch lake to fish, so we decided to grab some burgers and fish and chips to go as we were about to go fish. We bought a cheese burger to share between me and my girlfriend and we bought 3 orders of fish and chips. The prices were fair, I want to say it was fair due to the convenience of not having to drive back to Brian head to get something to grub as we were almost at the lake. The girl at the register who took my order was really sweet and helped us out super quick, she was efficient. As far as for the place itself it's a very nice vibe as you can see the woods across the street, the food spot has some nice tables outside and I even saw some tents for big families. Cheeseburger - I want to say that the cheese burger was actually pretty good. You could definitely taste the char, it was honestly like a burger you would traditionally get at a cookout. It was good! Fyi... it did not come with fries so I had to buy a side of fries because there is no way I'm eating a burger with no fries. The burger was $9 itself and the fries an additional $3 and some change. Fish and Chips - so I was able to try the fish and chips and they were good. Obviously I have had fish and chips at other places and I would say these were fairly good. I love my fish and chips and these were good but I won't say they were the best. For the price I would most definitely get them again. $14 for this plate. Excellent! The reviews were right on. We stopped for a quick shake...yum and then followed it up with dinner the same day. Brought a group of 8 and all of us raved about our meals. Today must of been an off day as the vibe wasn't the same as years past. We we're looking forward to meeting the new owners and had high hopes but unfortunately the way we met the lady owner was not on a good note. It's always awkward when hard plastic is found in one's meal. She was nice enough to give our money back but it left a sour taste in our mouths for a returned visit. We wish the new owners well, and we understand that mistakes happen, but this is one mistake that will cause us to not have a returned visit. Travelled 20 miles to get ice cream as they advertise "delicious desserts". We ordered two single dipped ice cream cones, then waited 10 minutes before we finally went up and asked about them. A boy was delivering them- in his bare hands- with no paper on the cones. The ice cream cone we got was pathetic. Just a cake cone with maybe an ounce of ice cream on it, and we paid $12 for the two. McDonalds $1 cones have 2x the ice cream. I was shocked and appalled. One of if not the best burgers I've ever had and that is saying a lot. A friend and I had the Barn Burger and it was literal perfection. Cheese, pulled pork, Cole slaw, and onion rings all piled on top creating a divine masterpiece. My parents had the Mountain Burger and they were just as satisfied. The sweet potato fries were just as good as any I've ever had. We also tried some dessert with some apple pie and ice cream, a banana shake, and strawberry cheesecake. They were all great quality. Barn Burger is the way to go if you are super hungry has a little bit of everything on it. It comes with 1/3 pound bacon cheeseburger, onion rings, pulled pork, and coleslaw. By far so hearty but also so dang juicy and the pulled pork was very flavor full and was very tender. The onion rings weren't my favorite but I am a little biased since I'm not a huge fan of onion to begin with. I hit this place up after finishing the Brian Head mountain biking trail since its maybe not even a five minute ride away. This place is a little barn shaped hut and is cute stop and has out door seating and a place to wash your hands. We have enjoyed the Burger Barn for years, it's our favorite place to eat when we come up to the lake. This was our first visit this year but it wasn't the same that we're used to. One of the cheeseburgers we ordered with lettuce and tomato only had one tomato slice and no lettuce. Both of the BBQ pulled pork sandwiches we ordered had very little BBQ sauce and were unusually salty. Sadly the buns on all 4 sandwiches were slightly over toasted as well. The sweet potato fries were great, definitely recommended! I would have taken the food back but we ordered about 20 mins before closing so by the time we dug into the food at our house that wasn't an option. Perhaps the issues were because they were close to closing. But I'm not a fan of excuses and I want to continue enjoying the Burger Barn, so I sincerely hope we have a better experience the next time we go. *** Aug 4 UPDATE. *** I am very happy to report that I connected with Ashlee tonight and she made everything right. I ordered the same as I did last night and everything was much better this time, much more like what we expected. The burgers were probably dressed and the pulled pork sandwiches were as scrumptious as ever! I did ask for a side of barbecue sauce for each sandwich and I'm glad I did. As always, the sweet potato fries continue to impress. Ashlee offered to cover the meal as a show of focus on customer satisfaction. I countered and offered to pay for the items that were just fine with the prior night's order but Ashlee insisted. Very impressed with ownership's focus on getting things right and ensuring customers are fully satisfied. We will definitely look forward to more visits to the Burger Barn!
