Hopper Creek Benedict (with crispy pork belly instead of Canadian bacon)
Ed L.

Stopped here for breakfast before heading back home. Saw the Hopper Creek Kitchen Benedict (crispy pork belly, toasted brioche, hollandaise and topped with a soft poached egg). Delish! Nice staff. Our server even somehow knew we were at Redd last night.

Fabulous vanilla lattes while we sat by the fire watching the rain fall.

We went in for coffee and had the best vanilla lattes. Beautifully clean, bright & crisp dining experience. Fidell, our waiter was pleasant & even brought us a fruit plate while we waited for the rest of our party. Hubby ordered the classic breakfast with the apple sausage and said it was super delish. I ordered the mysterious breakfast risotto that everyone continues to say they want to order but just don't. I thought, "why not!?! When in Yountville...." It was warm & rich. The vanilla flavor mixed with the strawberries reminded me of an oatmeal lovers delight. A little heavy, but the hubs finished it off!! Will return again tomorrow for sure!

Western omelet with fingerling potatoes
Camille D.

Came here for brunch many times during a trip in Napa in june. I could have the western omelet with the fingerling potatoes and fresh squeezed orange juice everyday. Also memorable was the pork belly eggs benedict, which is rich and totally worth it. On another occasion, we also tried a salad with heirloom tomatoes and fresh, creamy burrata cheese. No complaints about any of that. On top of all that the service was excellent. I don't remember our server's name, but he was just so nice, along with everyone else. We wanted some guacamole with our breakfast, and even though they didn't serve guacamole until lunch, they were nice enough to bring some out and throw in some chips too. If you get a chance, definitely order the charcuterie plate. It won't disappoint you!

Wild mushroom omelette! Lacking in flavor nice presentation!

Have to give 4 stars for the wonderful food! I have never eaten here before but have stayed at the resort it's beautiful. When I called to make reservation I was told it's only for hotel guest but since they were not busy they could seat us. When we arrived 11:00 am Sunday morning we were the only customers!! Still they took care of us Resturant is decorated beautifully as is resort! We all started with the mimosas delicious! My son ordered the pre-fix menu $40.00 first course salmon app main steak and eggs beautifully presented and delicious with chorizo! For dessert a assorted berry bread pudding made to order delicious! Service was ok considering we were the only ones was hard to get anyone's attention since staff was busy talking amongst themselves by kitchen? My French toast was fantastic ! Husbands pancakes with huckleberry s was delicious and a side of 2 fried eggs cooked to perfection! My daughters wild mushroom omelette lacked in seasoning and flavor but nice presentation!!! Will definitely come back next time to Napa if we are allowed to be seated!

Beautiful outside eating area

The service, the food, the ambience, all are amazing. I had the classic breakfast (2 eggs, fingerling potatoes, bacon, croissant) with fresh squeezed oj and a fruit cup....mmmmm. So good. Got it two days in a row. Not sure if you can eat here if you aren't staying at the the Hotel Yountville, but worth trying. Not cheap though, so be prepared.

Our…read moreserver did an excellent job keeping up with our large group while matching our energy and vibe, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The prix fixe menu is $69 and includes their signature fried chicken along with appetizers and sides. They also offer daily add-ons, and since we arrived starving, we couldn't resist ordering a few extras. Portions are very generous--so much so that we ended up with plenty of leftovers (which definitely came in clutch later that night!). I'm not exaggerating when I say Thomas Keller and his team truly deliver. The fried chicken was hands down the best I've ever had--perfectly juicy on the inside with an incredibly crispy, flavorful crust. The house-made chips with sour cream dip were absolutely addictive.

This one was a hard one to review, expectations and recommendations from friends were very high. We…read morecame here for my birthday dinner, seating was very quick, initial service was prompt and we were looking forward to the pre fixe menu. We ordered a couple drinks from the bar which were brought over to our table, our waiter went over the menu and how the pre fixe meal would proceed. For our starter, we had the Garden snap peas salad. The idea of fresh ingredients of carrots, frisee, arugula, and the Hobbs bacon was going to create a bounty of flavors, but fell short as our salad was doused heavily with dressing. The dressing completely overpowered the vegetables, did not compliment them as anticipated, leaving a very sour/bitter taste after every bite. Even the table next to us felt the dressing was overpowering. For our next course, we ordered the French onion dip and kettle chips appetizer, this was a solid pick! This appetizer was more than enough for two people, actually way too much for both of us, but enjoyed the dip very much. This is where the service began to slow down. We were almost done with our appetizer platter, needing some water refills and a fresh beverage, and felt like a very long time from when we received our appetizer until our waiter came back to us. For context, it had been almost an hour since we initially sat down, ate our salad and appetizer. I know this may be a slow paced meal, but felt overly long before we even got to our main course. For the main course, we had the pork chops. Well portioned for both of us, very tender, but lacked that nice grilled char we personally like. I assume the pork chops were sous vide and then finished lightly on the grill top to give the char and grill marks. Overall good, but not the wow we were anticipating for tonight's meal. Next up was the apple, crisp, dessert, which was OK and underwhelmed. We skipped the cheese and pretzel plate and asked them to put it in a to go box as we were already approaching two hours into our meal. Our experience may not be typical, but for a very expensive Friday night dinner, we felt it could've been spent elsewhere and would have had a better value overall.

Before coming, we called to confirm and were told dogs were allowed on the patio, first come first serve, and that the patio had a smaller menu than inside. No problem. We arrived right at 11am and were immediately seated outside with our 9lb Yorkie, who quietly sat on my lap the entire time without making a sound. We ordered drinks and food, drinks arrived, and then about 10 minutes later a woman came over to tell us our dog could not sit on my lap and had to be on the ground. That's completely fine if it's the policy -- but no one mentioned this on the phone, when we were seated, NOR when our waitress took our order. Had we known upfront, we simply would have left before ordering. At that point we asked to make the food to-go. We ordered the starter salad, fries, a Cubano sandwich, and a carnitas sandwich. Then we were told they "don't do fries to-go" because the kitchen says they don't travel well. We explained we were literally going to sit across the way at nearby public seating and eat immediately, but were told we still couldn't eat there as that was their property. The whole experience became unnecessarily frustrating and inconsistent. In the end, they brought us the fries anyway, and we packed them ourselves into a to-go box. (This is the first time I've heard of a restaurant not doing take out fries when on the menu.) We ended up finding a picnic table elsewhere to eat lunch. The food itself was okay but nothing memorable. My partner enjoyed the Cubano. The fries were a good crisp. The salad was fine, though the croutons were oddly soft instead of crispy. The carnitas sandwich wasn't really for me -- I prefer carnitas with more flavor and crispiness. Overall, the issue wasn't really the dog policy -- it was the poor communication and inconsistent handling of the situation. Unfortunately, after this experience, we won't be returning. Since we left, I only got a picture of the drinks. The rose was average but the cocktail was good.

Instead of going to our usual spot (Mustard's Grill), we took a chance at trying this restaurant since we were staying at the hotel. We were on a roll with the appetizers and complimentary cocktail that hotel guests get at the restaurant. The wood-fired charred octopus was perfect--super tender, crispy ends, perfectly cooked--by far my favorite dish at dinner. We also really enjoyed the sourdough bread and butter; crispy edges, soft center, and wonderful flavor. Then came the entrees. I had to try their NY strip, and my husband threw a curveball last minute and went with the duck. I don't know how he knew but he ordered right... My steak looked more like tenderloins, and as soon as it came out, I could see the overcooked, dry edges. About a quarter on each side of both steaks were well done and tough to chew. On top of that, the mushroom sauce and potatoes were super salty. I let the waiter know, and he asked me if I wanted a new one, but even if they made me a new one, I just didn't like the rest of the dish...so I declined. For an $81 entree, I think it should be damn good and properly prepared. Especially with the chance we took from our tried and true restaurant of choice. For dessert, we ended with the budino. It was strong on the caramel flavor, had a nice creamy texture, but I wished we were having the pork chops and lemon meringue pie at MG. Would rather the apps have been bad and the entree + dessert be the showstoppers. What makes it worse is we were 1 of 3 groups there; they weren't busy at all. At least I know now...

In both appetizers, the sauce was phenomenal and elevated the dish! For the entree, I had their vermilion rockfish. The fish was perfectly cooked and once again, the laksa broth gave the dish that extra satisfying flavor profile. For dessert, their tiramisu and butterscotch budino capped a fantastic dining experience. With so many exceptional restaurants in Yountville and the Napa Valley, the Restaurant at North Block should be high on your list to enjoy an exceptional dinner.

Chef Thomas Keller is known for precision, discipline, and an almost obsessive attention to detail. His style is refined, technical, and rooted in classic French technique, elevated with modern creativity. Every course reflects that philosophy, clean flavors, flawless execution, and zero shortcuts. The restaurant holds three Michelin stars, the highest distinction, and has been considered one of the best restaurants in the world for many years. We secured a reservation for four at 7:00 PM, which in itself feels like an achievement. There are not many tables for two, so getting a reservation for a pair is extremely difficult. The best approach is to try for a reservation of four or more for the main dining room. Larger groups may find private dining easier to book. The evening runs long, over four hours. It is not rushed at all. By around the sixth course, I was already full, but the progression keeps you engaged. Each dish is small but rich, layered, and intentional. They add additional complimentary courses to the experience! The experience starts in the waiting area inside the restaurant with a welcome toast. Once seated, you are given personalized menus, which adds a thoughtful touch. At the end, they send you home with custom cookies and a chocolate bar, small details that reinforce the experience. For my birthday, they went further, surprising me with a bottle of sparkling wine engraved with my name. That level of personalization felt genuine. Logistics were straightforward. Parking was easy, we parked across the street. The dinner was prepaid through Tock, which simplifies the process. There are also optional add ons to the tasting menu, like truffle mac and cheese and wagyu beef. Tip is already included and you can add additional tip if you desire! They are also flexible with dietary needs, one person in our group was vegetarian, and the kitchen accommodated seamlessly without compromising quality. Overall, it is one of the best dining experiences of my life and I will definitely go back again. I would choose an earlier reservation next time so dinner does not run so late into the night. Everything is exceptional from start to finish. Cool fact: Governor Gavin Newsom was caught eating here during the COVID lockdowns! We had reservations for 11AM, by the time it was 11:30AM, about 85% of the restaurant was filled. By noon? All the tables were taken! Come early, get seated, relax. Service: We had the privilege of having Dwight be our server this afternoon. He was an absolute gem who loves his job, and loves what he does. He explained to us the specials, and some of the dishes he liked; he was a big help! We settled on a few things: the chicken wings (a MUST-HAVE; they are smoked first --- then fried; then tossed in a bit of a sweet seasoning --- it hits all the taste buds!). We also got the sweet potatoes --- good, nothing to write mom about. In addition, I had to get the famous Mongolian Porkchops. Dwight suggested to get it medium (I was a bit apprehensive --- it is pork), but always "trust the chef". So I did. My meal was EXCELLENT. The porkchop was perfectly grilled with some charred bits, and the meat was tender and juicy. Thank you Dwight for your suggestion! All-in-all, Mustards Grill is a MUST if you're ever staying in the Napa Valley. They received a Michelin Star in 2025, and if you try their food, you can clearly see why. We were seated at a round table, which provided plenty of space to talk and enjoy our meal. As a starter, we ordered the onion rings. They were fantastic! Perfectly seasoned, and the homemade ketchup was delightful. The portion was large, but we had no problem finishing them because they were excellent. I had the veggie tostada. It had a good spicy kick that I really enjoyed. I am not sure if it was the salsa or the California chilies (red jalapeños) that gave it that heat. My sister had the famous pork chop and said it was the best she had ever had. My mom had the lamb, and she said it was divine. She also got some mashed potatoes to share, and the garlic flavor and texture were both delicious. We ordered two desserts and coffee to finish the meal. The lemon tart was fantastic! I have not had meringue this good since I was in French culinary school. I would come here for this tart alone. The coffee was a delicious close to the meal along with the dessert. We will most definitely be back to bring my husband and enjoy more family meals together. The sauce lacked flavor, and I couldn't taste the lemon herb beurre blanc at all. It also felt like there wasn't enough sauce, and although we asked for lemon, it never arrived. The grounds are gorgeous -- the outdoor seating area, the tasting tables, the garden and obviously the vines. What a great location! We started with the crudité which was fantastic. As basic as this dish can be -- everything was fresh, crisp, cold, and the sesame miso black garlic dipping sauce was wonderful. We also grabbed the tuna tartare and I had the soup du jour which was a divine garlic & parmesan soup. The soup was excellent -- perfect amount of garlic without being overpowering, really well-balanced and smooth, and the parmesan added the perfect little bite. For entrees, my wife and youngest split the chicken parmesan sandwich, my 15 year old went with the filet mignon with asparagus and mac n' cheese, and I did the seabass (duh) with coconut rice and a lobster hot & sour broth. The chicken parmesan was "good" -- nothing special according to the ladies, but the truffle fries made them quite happy. The filet was "excellent" -- perfectly cooked, a nice mushroom cream sauce, and the veggies and mac n' cheese were tasty. My dish was the highlight -- seabass perfectly cooked, rice was great, and the lobster broth was exceptional. I basically licked the plate. We were totally full for our "light" lunch -- but had to dive in on the desserts based on how good everything was. The GF Chocolate torte was unreal -- SO RICH -- we only ate 1/2 of it between the 4 of us -- but was great. The rice pudding got a "solid" score from the ladies and the cheesecake was awesome. It was really a great meal -- good bar scene -- will definitely work it into our rotation going forward.
