    Famous Breakfast Burrito

Spectacular. It's in the cutest little downtown area of Calistoga and everyone was so friendly. The outside patio was full so they sat us inside on the window. We ordered brunch and coffees and everything was so fresh and tasty. The service was fast and the food was delicious. We tried the breakfast sandwich, French toast, breakfast burrito and the omelette of the day. We had lattes and cappuccinos and all were honestly delicious. We would definitely come back and enjoy brunch or dinner here. The inside and outside were cozy, modern and fresh.

Incredible Food, Heart, and History! Lovina has become one of my favorite spots in Calistoga. Located in a beautiful 1904 historic home, the ambiance perfectly captures that cozy Northern California warmth. I especially loved the heated outdoor seating on the first floor, making for a perfectly comfortable al fresco dinner. A few highlights from my visit: I truly admire their "no-tip" model. They provide the staff with real living wages and benefits, and that's reflected in the excellent, genuine service. I started with the Sonoma Apple Salad (requested no blue cheese) and absolutely devoured it. So fresh! As someone who is lactose intolerant, I haven't been able to eat lasagna for years. Seeing the Impossible Sausage Lasagna on the menu was a game-changer. It was savory, delicious, and so satisfying to finally enjoy one of my favorite dishes again! Don't forget to say hi to the "Hog Killer" bear statue in his party hat on your way in. This place has so much character! I highly recommend Lovina if you're looking for great and healthy food in Calistoga!

Delicious! I ordered a berry mocktail, the fish croquettes, lobster mac n cheese, and the apple salad. What worked: - the ambiance was great. Lots of cozy seating, strong outdoor heaters, and warm lighting all around - service was speedy and very friendly - they have great mocktail options! I love restaurants that can make something special for people who aren't drinking - the apple salad was hefty, full of bright flavors, and each ingredient was crisp and crunchy - the lobster Mac n cheese was decadent without being too intense or heavy - they are a no-tip-expected place, which I really love. Restaurant staff should be paid a reasonable wage without having to rely on tips - there were so many vegetarian and vegan options. I think this is the perfect restaurant for a variety of dietary needs - the Hot Mess dessert was amazing. Lots of flavors, good size, and fun to eat! What didn't work: - this is on the pricey side, but I don't mind too much because the portions are reasonable and the staff are being compensated appropriately Overall, I'd absolutely return, lovely place!

We wanted to wrap up our mini Calistoga staycation with a nice meal and after much research, landed on Lovina. It's easy to make a reservation online, but you probably won't need it. We came at 6PM on a Sunday and were seated immediately! Sourdough Levain (4/5) - the bread itself is okay, but the real star is the whipped kale pistachio pesto butter! It's so yummy, I wish I could bottle it up. It's butter but with all the earthiness of the greens. It's topped with a black flaky salt - chefs kiss! Impossible Sausage Lasagna (3/5) - would pass on this dish next time. The lasagna was cooked well, but something was missing IMO. Felt like it lacked some flavor, maybe should have added the four cheese blend! Heritage Pork & Beef Bolognese (5/5) - our favorite dish of the night! Definitely worth the hype, get this! Pasta is perfectly cooked, and the bolognese sauce is hearty with just the right amount of kick. Service was also great. We had a 9 month old with us and they were very accommodating. They also gave us a handwritten note for our anniversary! Thank you for the thoughtfulness!

After an exhausting day of wine tasting (Har Har), this girl needed takeout and the comfort of no more people. Aka cancel the reservation family, we getting to go! Easy to order online and easy pick up! Yasss to the Bohemian esthetic but clean modern vibe? The outside and inside is gorgeous. Food piping hot and piping good! Big win for our family: vegan options and they were delicious! The risotto was, *chefs kiss. Highly recommend! ***Get that reservation if u are serious about eating in house!

Wow! wow! wow! From the greetings at the door to walking out. This was an amazing dinner. The staff was very welcoming and pleasant with awesome service. Such a cute place with inside/outdoor seating. The menu has something for everyone with a dietary need. Definitely make reservations since this place gets packed. I loved every dish that was prepared and highly recommended to anyone.

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Fancy-casual with something on the menu for everyone. Our friends had a gift certificate to this place so we decided to check it out for dinner while in the area. We'd made reservations so were greeted and sat right away in their lovely patio area. We were excited to try their vegan offerings and ordered the following: - Endive Cups (housemade hummus, whipped avocado, toasted seeds) - Nova Terra Plant-Based Cheeses (three nut-based cheeses with fig preserves, honeycomb, kalamata olives, crostini) - Aubergine Athena (gluten free panko crusted Japanese eggplant, english cucumbers, kalamata olives, summer squashes, kale herb salad, vegan tzatzki) - Impossible Sausage Lasagna (gluten free noodles, "mozzarella", charred tomato sauce, bloomsdale spinach, wild mushrooms ) Everything was excellent and came in surprisingly large portions. It was quite spendy, but we thought the quality and quantity of food, along with the excellent service made it worthwhile. Also note: they do not accept tips at this restaurant. It was a great place to share a special meal with friends; would definitely love to come back should the occasion arise.

Absolutely amazing experience. We chose a gluten-free menu and were not disappointed. Everything was fresh, flavorful and unforgettable. The staff were so warm and welcoming. Amazing night out!

Wagyu short rib. Superb. My wife flung a little sample of her appetizer on the plate, that is in the upper right. Otherwise perfectly plated
    Matt H.

I really enjoyed my recent visit to Lovina. Food: Amazing. A vegetarian's dream come true. Unfortunately my vegetarian wife doesn't like anything that tastes like meat so she didn't go for any of the impossible meat dishes. I had the endive cups with hummus. Spot on. Next up was the mushroom bisque soup. Truly spectacular. One of the best soups I've had anywhere. For the main event I went for the short ribs. They were plated and cooked perfectly. Fat was trimmed off which was nice because I hate a mouth full of fat when eating short ribs. Not here. Service was excellent. Very attentive service. Friendly staff. I'd definitely return and will on my next trip to Calistoga.

This may be one of my favorite new restaurants in the Bay Area! As a vegetarian, the options on this menu are plentiful. And the dishes taste SO fresh, like it's farm to table. The impossible lasagna was so well made, and the mushrooms were cooked so perfectly with the cheese, sauce and perfect portion of impossible "meat." Such a creative dish. And the apple salad was unreal, the apples and blue cheese and all the ingredients worked so well together. The dessert sampler was perfect- the perfect portions for two people. Each one was so unique and different, wish I would order the full size one of each one (although the bread pudding was my least favorite). I also love how this place is female owned, and the menu contains the story of how the place was founded. So many personal touches throughout the place, I would definitely come back to Calistoga just for this restaurant! The ambiance is so cute with the two stories and outdoor seating, and beautiful hand made ceramic plates. The service is also top notch.

Breakfast potatoes, toast & house salad

Great name, great history, & tip free so Hurray for a living wage. Woman owned (& hand made pottery by owner) Cute outside seating with a mix of small families friends and couples. Heater present when it's cooler but today the sun is out and it feels beautiful. Stopped by at 1:40 and felt blessed to get served for brunch on a Saturday. Not too busy and still hopping. Music with a great vibe. Toward the end of lunch live music from next door overpowered it and the music was good too I enjoyed a house salad with side of sourdough toast and breakfast potatoes. Potatoes and toast are crunchy. When I asked for jam it looked like blackberry or dark raspberry jam. Yum! vinaigrette was tangy on fresh greens, mostly whole leaf. Wait staff was available and helpful. No hurried on bit.

$15 Little Gems and Avocado Salad with veryyy few leaves.. such a rip off
    Annie K.

I've been back a few years after and the portions are definitely double tripled for the pork bolognese which is great. This evening, we sat on the outdoor patio which has a heater above. It is pretty strong but better than not having it especially right now in January. We ordered the gem salad, the pork bolognese, and the beef cheeks as well as their sour dough w/pistachio butter. The gems salad was delicious and ample with avocado, the sour dough bread was so soft yet crispy on the edges and the butter green and to die for!! The bolognese was good as usual i had alot left over! And the beef cheeks my bf and i really enjoyed, they were fall off the bone and the asparagus and gnocchi were fresh and soft! The sauces on the plate added to the flavors as well. I enjoyed my glass of Lola pinot and def recommend as i always come here when visiting Calistoga.

Thanksgiving dinner done right! We were only three for Thanksgiving this year - my other half had to work - so it seemed silly to make a huge mess cooking a huge feast. And I'll share a little secret with you, perhaps an unpopular opinion: Turkey/Thanksgiving is not my favorite meal. I'd been wanting to try Lovina for awhile, and when I saw that Lovina was offering a Thanksgiving prix fixe AND an a la carte menu, it was meant to be. Reservation was easy to make online. We showed up for our two-hour time slot reservation and were seated in the cozy indoor dining room. They had a lot of reservations so were keeping reservations on time. We started with the fried mushroom polenta bites to share - savory umami bite-sized goodness! Highly recommend! Our Moms ordered the prix fixe which included salad, turkey, all the sides, and dessert for $89pp: Choice of: -Autumn Apple & Mixed Greens Salad or -Wild Mushroom Bisque Thanksgiving Dinner Plate: -Herb Brined Slow Roasted Mary's Organic Turkey -mashed potatoes, turkey pan gravy -haricots verts, brown butter pistachios -cornbread dressing (dressing = stuffing; now I know!), carrots, onions, turkey bone broth -fresh cranberry sauce, orange zest, vanilla -creamed organic sweet potatoes Dessert: -Heirloom Pumpkin Tres Leches Cake, whipped coconut cream I ordered: -Locally Famous Little Gems Salad: watermelon radish, avocados, lime pickled onion, rye bread crumbs, zesty green goddess -Seared Wild Halibut: fresh gnocchi, roasted maitake mushrooms, carrot purée, salmon roe beurre blanc, chives Dessert for the Thanksgiving meal was probably the most untraditional item. They kindly brought me a complimentary piece of the cake - unique and tasty, and not overly sweet, which I appreciated. I was too stuffed to finish it. Dinner plus a few glasses of local wine! And we had a lovely time! Thanks Lovina Team for a delicious holiday meal - we appreciate you being open on the holiday! We'll be back

Are the dinner portions big or a good size? I do not mind paying high prices and I do see they are tip free which I assume adds to that but I prefer not to pay high prices for small bites. I appreciate any answers. Thank you.

The portions are quite adequate. The food is terrific and it's a great spot in Calistoga!

    Is Lovina Dog friendly?

Yes, pet and kid friendly! We came as a family and brought our dog, they happily sat us on their outdoor patio, brought the dog a water bowl and even gave the kids some blankets since it was cold that evening.

    Not open anymore?

Yes, we are open for dinner nightly from 5-9. We are not yet open for brunches; hoping to open in May, but staffing has been very challenging since the fires/ Covid. Come see us for dinner!

Today, my husband and I came to eat dinner at 5:15. To start, we were greeted with scowls, not given menus, and sat at a dirty table for five minutes, until we finally got up and moved seats. We had been enjoying the local hot springs, and I don't think our leisure attire and wet hair were appealing to the well-aged "hostess." I use that word generously. She repeatedly looked me up and down. The staff was transitioning to dinner, which was fine. However, they clearly had no interest in helping us. We received menus after 10 minutes and were then ignored again. This is not the first time I've had bad service here, and I will never come back. I had a lousy experience about 7 weee ago and was trying to look beyond...We ended up having a lovely $300 dinner at the Calistoga Inn. As Indian Springs and its businesses grow, they clearly have lost the importance of customer service. It used to be a really great spot.

Located in the heart of Calistoga on the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Cedar Street, Calistoga Inn Restaurant & Brewery is part hotel, part restaurant and part brewery with the latter two being both indoors and outdoors. What brought a friend and I here for a weekend lunchtime meal was the fact that we were enjoying a nice early wine tasting in Calistoga and my friend who has been here before suggested we try out this place for our meal as they have enjoyed their time in the past. And how could they not, as the Calistoga Inn Restaurant has one of the most popular outdoor dining venues in the Napa Valley, thanks in large part to their huge outdoor patio that stretches along the aforementioned Napa River, complete with shady lush foliage, not to mention their well regarded micro-brewery, otherwise known as the Napa Valley Brewing Company that occupies the historic water tower that towers over the entire property. upon entry to their outdoor patio, a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs welcomes diners. We managed to get lucky when their host, who also serves as one of their many servers, sat my dining mate and I at a table for four people that had plenty of sunshine overhead. The lunch menu at Calistoga Inn Restaurant & Brewery is separated into categories including Starters, Starter Soups and Salads, Sandwiches, Lunch Plates, Pastas, Pizzas, Sides, and their Beverage menu including their award-winning beers, wines, mocktails, and cocktails. Although their pastas sounded so delicious our server David let us know that their Sandwiches were their most popular dish during the lunch hour, and their French Dip Sandwich made with thinly sliced ribeye, caramelized onions, truffle aioli, provolone cheese served on a house made French roll and served with a side of au jus dipping sauce and a side of garlic-cheese fries was one of their favorite sandwiches. I was sold and ordered that for my entrée. My dining mate ordered their Nashville Fried Chicken Sandwich, which was a deep fried breast basted in spicy special sauce, served with butter pickles, mayonnaise, coleslaw and instead of being served on their house made brioche bun, they asked for it to be served on their house-made focaccia, which usually comes with their turkey and brie sandwich along with a side garlic-cheese fries. To go with our meal I opted to drink their Como La Flor mocktail which was made with hibiscus syrup, water and lime juice after my first choice of their Black Swan cocktail was unavailable, while my dining mate ordered their Rombauer Chardonnay 2023 which is sourced from the Carneros region in Napa Valley. It wouldn't take too long for our meal to come out, and the team at the Calistoga Inn Restaurant & Brewery were very accommodating of my dining mate's request to not be served their spicy dipping sauce that already came on their Nashville Fried Chicken sandwich as they came out with a variety of dipping sauce, including mayonnaise to be served with their sandwich and fries. My French Dip Sandwich was one of the tastiest that I have ever enjoyed as it came with plenty of provolone cheese and the au jus dipping sauce which sometimes can taste off-putting tasted just right this time. With our refreshing drinks in hand we had a wonderful time out their on their patio, which would get more crowded as the lunch hour wore on. And why wouldn't it? As the sun's rays would shine down upon us while we ate and drank. Our total bill was 87 dollars before gratuity and taxes were added in, which can be considered high, but for what we received, including extra food to take home for an additional meal, then I consider it well worth it. At Calistoga Inn Restaurant & Brewery the food, service and atmosphere cannot be beat and with all the high-end wineries around the area, this restaurant and brewery is well worth a visit to get you back into the mood to wine taste once again!

A tour of the kitchen and a conversation with Chef Garcia himself was a delight, offering a glimpse into the passion that drives this kitchen. It's no surprise that Auro has earned its many consecutive Michelin star; the level of execution and creativity is staggering. Congratulations to the entire team at Auro. This was, without a doubt, one of the best meals I've had all year and a dining experience I will remember for a very long time.

The next day, we visited Truss for lunch and we just as impressed. I mean, it wasn't a 10 course tasting menu, but the food was just as good and interesting. The view on the patio is top flight. Love it.

First, my brother ordered this drink called the "Devil Went Down to Georgia" named after the Charlie Daniels song. It came out in a box filled with smoke! What a majestic entrance for a drink. Then, we had some divine oysters, and they brought us an adorable Tabasco bottle for some extra flavor. For our entrées, I was very impressed by how everyone's dish was so well done. I had the salmon cooked rare, and it came with a delicious sauce and roe that combined very well. Some of the best salmon I've ever had. My dad ordered a pizza, my brother ordered duck, and my mom ordered pork ribs. The pizza and duck were fantastic. I was surprised they could make such an excellent pizza. The duck was tender and delicious. The pork ribs were pretty good, but there wasn't a lot of meat on each bone. Regarding service, it was very nice of the staff to accommodate my mom's request of bringing out the box of smoke for the drink again. She was disappointed she couldn't get a video, and they ended up bringing another one of the same drink in the box, so she could film the delivery the second time. Living Room at TRUSS is off to a great start in every way
