Came in for dinner and had a fine meal. I wouldn't say anything necessarily amazing, but we had a good meal. I ordered the crispy tofu and it tasted yummy. I found the vegetable to rice ratio to be quite off though, but after talking with our server she was able to get us some vegetables on the side to add which helped a lot. Also ordered the baked Alaska and it was alright. Again not necessarily bad but also not anything super amazing either. It's a beautiful interior and the servers are very attentive and kind. Cute spot to have dinner, but not sure if I would go out of my way for this place personally. But I can understand why someone else would love it here read more

Five for dinner Saturday night : terrific ambiance, gracious service and a wide selection of entrées. I had the Andouille, shrimp and grits - a collision of Cajun flavors. Highly recommended ! read more

Honestly it blew past our expectations, and the food came out quickly. The burger with added caramelized onions was phenomenal and unbelievably juicy...almost too juicy? and the salad greens were so crisp they practically shattered when you took a bite. Peak crispy fresh. The heirloom tomato dish rocked, and the chocolate crème brûlée was rich and decadent with an amazing crackly sugar shell. The kitchen did a great job balancing textures, acidity, and savory flavors across everything we tried. Definitely give this place a shot. read more

This seems like a newly opened place. They seem to have vineyards - but we had finished our wine tasting and wanted some food. It has a large ceiling dining area that is beautiful. When we went, there weren't too many people there for lunch. The waiters were attentive and polite. The focaccia bread with rosemary was very fresh - seemed a little too fresh oily - but I am sure they will fix that aspect. I would go back and try other dishes - we weren't too hungry so had a tartine and some soup. It was very tasty. Slightly on the higher side for the food cost but the ambiance is upscale too. read more

Really tasty food, good variety of choices. You will find something you want to eat - even for the most picky eater. I could have made a meal out of several appetizer choices! Nice open space. Don't feel crammed in. Service was a little slow but we went for an early dinner so maybe they weren't ramped up yet on staffing. 100% recommend. read more

Service and food were great. The 2 dishes were ordered had excellent sauces - this place knows how to do sauces right! The menu is a little pricey - we went for brunch and had no alcohol or side dishes and our pretax total was over $60. Ambiance is great but didn't love the music. read more

Delicious food and delightful ambience. I highly recommend the mussels! Service is efficient and delightful.

Great brunch spot if you're in Calistoga. Service was tentative and welcoming. Cozy inside with plenty of seating for big or small crowds. Food tasted really good and fresh. The breakfast potatoes were awesome; very flavorful. I would recommend if you're in the area. read more

My husband and I enjoyed one of the better meals we've ever had in our lives together in this restaurant. We ordered the pork chop. It was over 2 inches thick and cooked to absolute perfection. The waitstaff was perfect. The meal was timely and hot. The ingredients were so fresh. And of course, they have a wonderful wine list. Everyone in this restaurant was welcoming from the minute we came in the door. We wanted to be seated close to the TV to watch the 49er game and there was a private room that no one was using and they allowed us to use it. I don't know why you would eat anywhere else in Calistoga. I might actually dream about that pork chop. read more

Our waiter Dennis was fantastic. He made recommendations and great insight into the menu. The place is new and beautiful! The ambiance is romantic with dark lighting and fire places. They have a wide range of food and drinks with plenty of wine options from Lawer Estate! Definitely recommend if you're in the area. read more

This is a new place, can't believe yelpers haven't reviewed it yet. Let's call it elevated American food. We started off with wine & the butternut squash soup; it was creamy, silky texture a tad coconut forward yet overall scrumptious. We shared their autumn salad - it was tasty, loved the dressing, unique flavors for a salad. The mains were: wild caught salmon & the halibut; the halibut was stellar! Hands down a great tasting dish, I would never think of the pairing the sauce they had with the halibut, bravo . Our server, Dennis insisted it was one of the best items on the menu & he was right. And since it was a birthday, bring on the desserts: Apple dumpling with vanilla ice cream & lemon cheese cake. The lemon cheese cake was light, fluffy, well done. The apple dumpling was unique, not sure I've ever had that before. Service was on point, Dennis did a great job, from making recommendations to checking in as to how things were going. His helper, Fatima did her best to clear & keep our water glasses filled. The feeling is casual, you could easily dress up a tad & fit right in. Shall return. read more

I didn't have high expectations no particular reason. I decided on a salad and dessert. The simple salad was so good I ordered a half to go and a steak. The baked Alaska was absolutely amazing! It was refreshing not to have the same typical dessert menu. How often do you see baked Alaska??? It's a must. read more

From the moment we walked in, the ambiance felt warm, intimate, and thoughtfully curated--perfect for a valentine brunch in wine country. The food was truly the highlight. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor, clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. You can tell there's real intention behind the menu, with a great balance of creativity and comfort. The portions were just right, leaving us satisfied but not overly full. Service was equally impressive--attentive without being overbearing. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and gave great recommendations, which made the experience even better. If you're in Calistoga and looking for a spot that delivers on both atmosphere and exceptional food, this place is definitely worth a visit. I'd happily come back again! read more

Service is top notch! Perfectly centrally located right on Lincoln and Washington. The food was so good and very generous portions. The brunch is so good. It was a warm day and they opened the windows right on Lincoln. While the food was good, the service was a disaster. We had five different servers, even though they were "short staffed". We couldn't get consistent delivery of our meal and ended up waiting over 20 minutes for our dessert. While the burger was very good, I'm not sure it was worth $27! read more

The food was ok, maybe eating at 2pm was a bad call. We ordered shrimp sandos and a chicken sandwich. Brioch bun was stale the chicken sandwich had a chicken breast which was comically huge and just bland. The booth had cobwebs around the wrought iron and service was unbearably slow. read more

First time trying this new gem during a weekend trip to Calistoga. So glad we tried it. Our server - Dennis - not a menace - was delightful & his recommendations on drinks & food were spot on. Lemon Drop & wine were amazing but our fish dishes.... Definite home run. Ambience was very cozy with comfortable booth seating. Highly recommend. read more

Hands down the best meal I've had in at least 5 years......every dish was spot on - fresh, flavorful and cooked perfectly. Soup of the day to start (fava bean and andouille), spring salad with herb salsa (must get), then the wife and I split a burger with waffle fries and the shrimp and grits with bacon gravy. Every one was a 10 out of 10. Multiple drinks/cocktail's which were also delicious. We were stuffed but had to get dessert so had the strawberry rhubarb crisp / just wow. Run, don't walk to this restaurant- I'm already thinking of the next visit. Oh, and service was top notch too. Kudos to the whole team. read more

In Calistoga for a visit to the wine country. Eight North was recommended as one of the new restaurants in town The food was good, our party had the cheeseburger, shrimp and grits and chicken pot pie. No complaints. The wine selection by the glass was good but the reason for the 3 stars is the wine pours. They were ridiculously light, especially for the price. If I'm paying $22 for a glass of cab, I expect a full pour, not some measured light pour. Especially in wine country! I wouldn't go back to this restaurant for that reason alone. read more

Divine, distinguished, delectable. In my short two-night visit to Calistoga, I visited Eight North three times--twice for social hour and cocktails, and once for dinner, which is by far the best offering in town. Each menu item is carefully crafted and flawlessly executed, while each bite explodes with nuanced flavor and texture. The Brussels sprout appetizer was especially whimsical; I appreciated the Asian twist of fish sauce, crispy rice and red chilis. The bacon-wrapped pork loin was served over a bed of kimchi fried rice dispersed with tangy shiitake mushrooms. The chicken entree, a breaded breast drenched in a creamy Meyer lemon emulsion, was unparalleled--the most tender chicken breast I've ever had! Dessert--I bitterly regret that I couldn't order them all. What I did experience was the most sublime milk chocolate creme brulee, with a toasted marshmallow crust giving way to a decadent but impeccably balanced custard. This exquisite dining experience is only complemented by a beautiful dining room with plush furniture, ornate dark wood trim, and a romantic fireplace. Dining at Eight North is imperative when visiting Calistoga! read more

This place was amazing! I went with some friends for NYE and was a bit skeptical because they were fairly new but everything from the service to the food did not disappoint. Eight North is an excellent addition to the dining options on Calistoga's high street. We went twice for lunch, and had the green goddess-y entree salad, burger, barbecued shrimp poboy, and local beer. Friendly service, clean, airy space. Just a really classic, well-done restaurant not grasping for any silly food trends. The decor is a little bit Chicago 90s mahogany, but that's part of the charm. Highly recommended. read more

Beautiful restaurant. The bar was very impressive. Apparently it has been around since the 1800s!. We had an amazing meal. We started with the buratta salad which was excellent. I had the mussels and a side of duck fat potatoes. I have never had mussels this large and they melted in my mouth. The broth was out of this world. My husband had the root vegetable pot pie and he was very pleased. Creative cocktail menu. Gotta love a cocktail called "juice box hero". Nice wine selections (no surprise there). Dessert for me was lemon cheesecake, which was outstanding. I believe the crust was a combo of brown sugar, graham cracker and butter. Whatever the case, it was phenomenal. My husband got the apple dumpling and said it was delicious. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend if you're in Calistoga. read more

Excellent food. Loved the grilled octopus in particular. Fun cocktails. Very creative. Will definitely try again.

Service! Stopped in with my wife to have a quick cocktail and appetizers on Valentine's Day. The espresso martini's were excellent and ribs were perfect. But better yet was the service. Devyn was on point!! Very personable and fun to talk and share a few laughs with. We actually stayed longer than anticipated because we were having such a good time. Amazing Shrimp and Grits. My wife had the Steamed Mussels and they were also excellent. The grilled octopus appetizer was tasty as well. The ambiance was like any restaurant in San Francisco and their great food had me remembering great meal I've had in New Orleans and Spain. New restaurant in Calistoga. Had a great lunch. Very nice ambiance. Highly recommended

We had a wonderful Friday night dinner at Eight North. The restaraunt is spacious and warm. Our waiter Dennis provided excellent service, very attentive and friendly without being overbearing. He took the time to introduce us to the menu and clearly descrive dishes including recommendations. We started with a couple of glasses of white wine, the calamari conservas and an order of the ranch spiced waffle fries. The conservas were presented with delicious home made crackers and a pickled vegtable mix that really brightened them up. The ranch fries were perfectly crisp and spiced. For mains we ordered the petrale sole and the bacon wrapped pork loin. The sole was cooked beautifly and perfectly accompanied by the burre blanc. Just a perfect preparation of a classic dish. The pork loin was over spicy kimchi fried rice and the heat was perfect. The shitakes had a pickled flavor which balanced the dish and cut through the spice. Eight North clearly puts a ton of care into their menu construction, their preparations and their service. We were really happy with our experience and will be back. read more
