My husband and I have been on the adventure known as "Buying Your First House" and boy is it a doozy. I don't think we anticipated the type of whirlwind that we'd be swept up in but fortunately we've assembled a good team of people while on this journey, including our home inspector. Leo came recommended to me from a friend and former realtor who always referred him to her clients. We had a really short option period from a Monday to a Friday so I was relieved to call him first thing Monday morning and be able to schedule the inspection for early Tuesday morning.
My husband, realtor, and I arrived at the home at the end of the inspection and Leo took about an hour to go over everything that he found. He knew this was our first home so he explained every pipe, what to do when such-and-such happens, how to fix this and that, how much each part should cost, what happens if you don't fix this, etc. We were fortunate to have a pretty clean inspection report, but we're armed with knowledge on how to fix the items that did come up on it. Leo even said that we could contact him in the future if we forgot what something meant or what to do about it.
With this being the only inspection I've ever had and not calling other inspection companies for quotes, I have nothing to compare Leo's service to, but I will definitely be using him and referring him to anyone I know looking to get an inspection. The inspection doesn't automatically come with a termite inspection, so I opted to tack that on for an additional cost, which brings the total cost to the average around town from what I've heard ($280 for inspection, $75 for termite inspection...but I don't know if that's standard or based on house size). read more
