Very concerning experience with Hallmark Inspections yesterday. I was about to let my 2 year old and 3 year old outside to play when I noticed a man (Aaron Wedemeyer - TREC Professional Inspector #26252) in my yard looking at electrical equipment. He had bypassed a secured gate to get onto the property, didn't have the access code, and never contacted me for permission. After confirming he was not authorized to be on the property, I asked him to leave. Instead, he chose to remain on the property while attempting to obtain authorization to inspect a neighboring unit. As a parent and homeowner, it's unsettling to find a stranger on your property, especially when young children are about to head outside. Access controls and property boundaries exist for a reason. I'd expect a professional inspector to coordinate access and obtain permission before entering a secured property, not enter first and ask questions later (especially in Texas). read more

Jonathan is a top flight professional providing a much needed service. I had to have a full roof replacement after the big hailstorm of 9/25/23 and had Jonathan out to inspect the job once it was completed, which was just last week, nearly 5 months after the storm. Jonathan was fantastic; he not only inspected the roof but also looked at the flashing and gutters and, at my request, he also checked the foundation, including measurements inside the house. He walked the perimeter of the house and checked out a number of other minor things I was concerned about and wanted to make sure weren't signs of a larger problem. The night before he came, I sent him a bunch of pictures of things I was anxious about and he was able to reassure me by text message (at 9:30pm - I honestly did not expect that!!). After his walk-through/ measurements and assessment, he reassured me that my house, including foundation, was in good shape, said the roof was a high quality install, answered all my questions, and explained everything. Jonathan told me that before becoming a home inspector, he had been a science teacher- and he still has all the characteristics of a top notch teacher, clear in his explanations, recommendations, and ability to reassure. Jonathan also said that if I had any questions or concerns, I could always call him or send a pic. Just a fantastic guy who provides a fantastic service, a house checkup that's well worth doing every year or two, especially for someone like me who is anxious about everything.
