Jim and Shauna are in every sense of the word - professionals. They practically scoured every inch of the home and found everything that a casual untrained eye wouldn't. Interior, exterior... everything was covered including rooftops. They used tools to measure the ventilation and insulation inside the home, and found all the small imperfections you and I probably would never notice early into our home ownership. You'll probably find out about them later on, though and that would be bad on your end because fixing it at that point may be your liability. You need to find all those little problems in the nooks and crannies now so that they can be resolved before you move into your new home. Jim and Shauna gave us that peace of mind, knowing we got a great checklist of things that needed to be looked at before we were comfortable spending that kind of money on a new home. They basically wrote a thesis of their findings in a very proper and professional looking report that was sent electronically after the home inspection. We used Apex because the inspector referred to us by our realtor wasn't available before our contingency period ended on our new home. We just wanted a second set of eyes on our property to have the builder fix before we closed. James did a great job finding some stuff I wouldn't have been able to find myself: Exposed nails on the roof, missing caulk/sealing around a window that was high up on the roof, gaps in facia that could allow wasps and bugs in the attic, and some other stuff. I scheduled the inspection in preparation for selling my home and was able to price and schedule the appointment quickly on their website. Shortly after, Jim reached out to confirm, andwith all the chaos involved in moving it was nice to have it set and confirmed. Jim arrived on time, with a smile and a professional demeanor. He explained what he would be doing and took time to make sure I was well informed about the process. He was very thorough, both inside and out and looked into corners I didn't even know existed. As he went along he kept me informed. When finished he outlined the things he found that were in need of repair but while he could have just finished up and been on his way he took the time to go into detail explaining each of those items. I really appreciated that because it means I can get estimates confident that I have the information needed to avoid being ripped off. So, with that said, 5 stars all around. I was very impressed and happy with the quality of service that Apex Home Inspection provided. It was clear from the start that Jim, the inspector, knew what he was doing. He was thorough in checking everything. His trained eye even spotted a couple of loose bolts that needed tightening. When he would take a picture of something that he found, he explained in detail to me what was wrong and how it needed to be in order to bring it up to code.
