When I showed up at the inspection, I was greeted by the man's wife. I found that extremely unprofessional. He went through the list of items found and said it's only 1.5 pages. He bragged about how he would be shocked if someone else could find something he missed. I happened to have a contractor show up the same time I was there to take measurements. As soon as the inspector bragged, the contractor found an external light fixture that didn't have proper coverage around the electrical component and could allow moisture. After that day, I was worried the inspection was rushed and things would be missed. Even though the contractor pointed out the light fixture, it was not written in the final report. During the final walk through before closing, I found the edge of the shower door was jagged and I could cut my finger on it. I'm extremely worried about what else we might find after we move in. I reached out to Austin Inspection Services after the walk through to communicate my concerns and I did not hear back.

My experience: I've had issue after issue with my newly built home in Georgtown, despite having gone with a supposedly "high-end" builder. After reading about thermal imaging, one morning after a big downpour I was looking for someone to come and see if we had any moisture/ insulation issues I couldn't see with the naked eye. I called Joe at 8:30 am out of the blue and it just so happened he'd had an inspection reschedule and had freed up that AM. He was at my house within an hour.
