He has been in the inspection business a LONG time, and is extremely thorough in both his analysis and reporting. Due to his experience he can to tailor the inspection to the type and age of home you're looking at - meaning he knows what's important to check on a house built in 1935 vs 2015, and is adept at any type and age of structure (he's seen it all). If you're present during the inspection he'll also explain what he's looking at and give you advice about what he's seeing. (His reports do this too, but he does a great job showing you in person.) Four Points' prices are competitive, and Glenn's even done rushed inspections for us when we had a short option period. His reports are spot on and have been vital in our negotiation and buying decisions. He can be a little difficult to get ahold of at times, but it's worth it. read more

I've had the misfortune of having Glenn do my home inspections twice, only because we needed someone last minute and he was the only one available. (Red flag: if everyone else is booked and he's wide open that might be a problem). Fool me once, shame on you... At first he seems thorough but then when you get the report half of the issues he mentioned are not documented. It is really hard to talk to the seller about potential defects when the inspector fails to document them in the report. On one occasion I hired another inspector who found obvious problems that were not even mentioned by Glenn. Personally, I would never hire him again. read more

He's probably an OK inspector, but I can't really recommend him due to the lack of follow up. Nice guy and seemingly thorough, but it's hard to tell about that since his report basically mirrored the prior inspection, which I'd given him beforehand. He did take time to explain things and also gave me a feel for which issues were most important. I do think he is competent. The one thing lacking was service after the sale. I sent him an email immediately after getting the report, asking just a couple of very basic questions. It would have taken him all of 2 minutes to answer, but he didn't reply. I sent him another email asking for the same info, but again, no reply. When he emailed the report he asked for a good Yelp review. Might want to rethink that if you can't be bothered to answer emails. read more

We just hired Glen for a home inspection a few days ago to examine a house my husband and I are considering buying. He was prompt, methodical, and savvy. He caught things down to the smallest detail. All excellent qualities in a home inspector, but where he really shone was in his fantastic reporting style. He delivered a document to us within 24 hours that was so well written - concise, with photos to back up with visual illustration all the damages or concerns he had noted. The report walked us through issues or potential issues in a logical procession, and then there is a highly useful conclusion/recap section at the end where Glen has almost a bullet list of the things that should be addressed and the probable best way to address them, including future servicing schedules, etc. Such a great way to do things. And: he has a dry sense of humor, which makes the walk through way more fun than any other previous inspection services we have had with other inspectors on our past homes. We are first time home buyers so this was our first inspection and Glen was so great to work with. He was able to come out within two days of my initial call and was very reasonable. He checked out the property and I met him at the end of the inspection so he could walk me through what he found. The report he sent us via email was very thorough and detailed with pictures for anything he had to report on. It made it really easy for me to give my husband a run down since he couldn't make it the day of the inspection. Glenn did our inspection for our condo. We gave him a call the day of and he was able to schedule us for a 3 PM appointment. At 2:30 PM, he informed me he was going to be 1 hour late, 4 PM which was a minor inconvenience. In the end, he arrived about 15 minutes later, 4:15 PM due to traffic. Once the inspection started, he did a good job with his inspection. He uses a digital camera and a voice recorder to take notes. Following him around, he seemed knowledgeable of the major items for the inspection. I had to follow him around and ask that he include many of the cosmetic issues (cracked granite, missing trim, self-closing drawers that did not self close) which I would have liked him to do on his own. He explained he did not typically add those minor cosmetic issues in but he would since I found them. It turned out that those minor issues added up and the seller addressed them all because they were on our final report. Following the inspection, Glenn provided the report within 24 hours. The reason why I am knocking him an additional star is that during the inspection he offered to do a follow up after the seller completed repairs. I took him up on the offer and emailed him that we were ready. Glenn initially replied back to my email saying to give him a call and that was the last I heard from him. I called twice and emailed again with no response. Now that we are closing, his follow up would not do us much good. Overall, Glenn is a good inspector but there were a few things during our experience with him that he can improve for his future clients. read more

How about a review from the seller's point of view??? The evening after Glenn did an inspect on our home we began having issues with our heating system. Considering it was going to in the mid 30's we needed help. Glenn came back and spent more that 3 hours in our attic trouble shooting what most likely wasn't his problem & something he wasn't getting paid to do - all on a Friday night. He also made a trip to find more fuses and ended up going to 4 different places. Glenn demonstrated himself as a stand up person who goes well above and beyond to make sure the job is done. I can't imagine that there is a better house inspector than Glenn. Four years ago, he came highly recommended by my girlfriends real estate agent, when she was buying her house. Sometime after the purchase of the house I read his report and it was so well written that four years later when I was ready to purchase my own home, I hunted him down for the inspection. Four Points Inspection is Top Notch! I showed up for our inspection and Glenn was already on the roof checking out every nook and cranny. I wanted to test him and see if i could pester him with questions while he was working and he was smooth as he could be- not phased in the least bit. He would stop what he was doing and give me his full attention and provide the most thorough answer or explanation possible. He used his digital camera to capture all the issues he found and voice memo- I think this is very useful to capture his full thoughts- rather than looking back on scribbled notes later. When he was done he very calmly explained everything he found and went through using his camera to visually see each item he wanted to call out to us. Then he took all our answers, as long as we needed. The whole time very personable and professional. We will receive his inspection report today complete with photos and details. Overall Glenn took his time and throughly inspected everything in the house, and sometimes even re-checked. Glenn is the best! I am a first time home buyer and he did a great job walking me through all the deficiencies and qualities of the house. He also explains very patiently the way inspections work i.e. homes are evaluated in comparison to new homes just built that are up to code... so an old home will have a lot of "deficient" labels but it is not a big deal. I was surprised at how thorough he was especially when part of his inspection involved flushing the toilets. He saved us plumber expenses there because we got the buyer to pay for these easy fixes. After the inspection he also took the time to chat and provide guidance, which I really think he did out of the goodness of his heart and not because that was part of his job. He was very professional and never checked or answered his phone during the inspection. I would like to disagree with others who say there is not follow-up' he emailed a typed inspection report with pictures the very next day.
