We first went to Hereford Grill 5 years ago on our wedding day, and we had not been back since then. After they were closed for 3 years for the remodel, we decided to return for our anniversary, and it was such a great experience. They seated us near the bar, which we loved, and from the start the service was outstanding. The bartender at the main bar was amazing, and we were also taken care of by a Venezuelan server who was excellent and made the whole experience even better. The restaurant looks beautiful now: very well decorated, polished, and professional, while still feeling warm and special. The food was excellent. The picanha was incredible, and the fries, lobster mac and cheese, and arepas to start were all so good. We also went on a Tuesday, so the all day 2 for 1 drinks was a great bonus, and they even gave us complimentary anniversary drinks, which was such a nice touch. Coming back after 5 years and having the service and overall experience be this good was really special. Hereford Grill is truly a Miami icon and absolutely worth visiting. What a great experience we had tonight for dinner. My wife and I were looking for a South American influenced steakhouse...and we are so glad we found it at Hereford's. We walked into this beautifully designed space that was sophisticated, modern, and still had warmth. The restaurant looked like a very chic Miami restaurant and Don Johnson should be sitting in a booth wearing a pink blazer. The beautiful hostess greeted us with a big smile and warm welcome. She allowed us to choose where we wanted to sit. We were promptly asked what type of water we wanted, still or sparkling...demonstrating this is a well trained staff. Our waiter, Alex, took our wine order. The som, Fernando, served our wine. This team is a well oiled machine. We ordered 5 dishes to share: the tuna tartar(4/5), the arepas mixto(5/5), classic chorizo sausage (5/5), the skirt steak(8/5), and fries Provençal (garlic fries)(6/5). Everything was expertly prepared and served. Prior to our steak being served, Alex brought out 12 different beautiful and razor sharp custom steak knives that we could choose from. What a great high end experience and gesture. The skirt steak was sliced tableside by Alex. It was cooked a perfect medium rare. We order their 'black pepper sauce'(7/5) which was one of the best whiskey peppercorn sauces I've tasted. For dessert we ordered the Basque cheesecake (4/5). They brought my wife a complimentary tres leches cake (5/5) for her birthday and sang to her. It was a perfect ending to a perfect dining experience. Hereford Grill is one of my top steakhouse experiences. If you are in Miami and looking for a high end Latin influenced steakhouse, Hereford Grill should be seriously considered. It's definitely worth the Uber expense. And if you live in Miami, this should be on your 'must try' list for your next steak night. read more

This is one of those good high end restaurants in Miami (unlike many others cough cough) Top notch hospitality from the greeter to the waiter. Walk thru a recently, fully renovated beautiful restaurant with waterfalls and perfect ambiance lighting For Apps, of course as Venezuelans, we had to try the Arepa Mixta, perfectly small to stay off with! The house bread comes with delicious herb butter. The grass fed beef tararte was delicious! They prepare it in front on you too! Don't be afraid to try it even if you don't "like" raw meat, it's a must! For mains we had the WAGYU DENVER STEAK and BONELESS RIBEYE STEAK. The Wagyu just melted with each bite! Hereford Grill is back again under new administration. The place has been fully renovated and comes with an elegant sophisticated version. The menu is a fusion of Argentinean and Venezuelan food. We tried some appetizers and the winners are the cheese empanadas and short rib croquetas, all freshly made at the place! For entree would recommend the meat cuts, quality and term are on point. The short rib was my favorite and picanha was the most popular on the table. Good size. You can also share one cut if not too hungry and pair definitely with the asparagus alla carbonara. The staff is all very nice and friendly, will guide you through the menu and flavors and no doubt ask for recommendations. We had also the opportunity to talk with the Head Chef who was checking on tables. As for dessert we tried the flan, chocolate cake and panqueques, all freshly made, none disappointed. I came here with high hopes after reading a ton of glowing reviews -- many from "Local Guides" -- and honestly, I just don't see the hype. Let's start with the good: the space is beautiful, and the service was solid -- friendly and attentive enough. No complaints there. But when it comes to the food, things start to fall apart (literally, in the case of the chorizo). If you're expecting anything close to the original Hereford that was open in Miami for over 20 years, be warned -- this is not that. I went in thinking it would have a similar vibe or menu, but was told it's a "new concept" -- and unfortunately, it's just not a great one (at least not for longtime fans). The old Hereford served delicious, comforting Venezuelan food -- this version leans into an Argentinian steakhouse angle, and the results were... mixed, at best. Some quick highlights (and lowlights): Best things we had? The drinks and the French fries. The chorizo completely fell apart when cut -- not in a good way. The so-called "premium" cut of meat was full of nerves -- chewy and not enjoyable. The moro (rice and beans) was bland. The grilled arepas were tough and chewy -- tasted like they were reheated, not freshly made. Want nata and cheese with your arepas? That's an extra $12, and the nata isn't even the real deal -- more like a generic South American cream. For what we got, the price was steep: $500 for dinner for 4, with no bottle of wine -- just two cocktails per person. That wouldn't sting as much if the food had been great, or even good. Look, I get that they've only been open about two weeks and may still be finding their rhythm. But for that kind of money, you expect better -- or at least more honesty upfront. If this is a new concept, with new ownership and a totally different direction, please say so clearly on your social media and in your marketing. Don't lean on the name of a beloved, long-standing restaurant if this isn't meant to carry on that tradition. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. Maybe the new crowd they're trying to attract will enjoy it more, but for those of us who loved the original, this just isn't it. read more

I was staying in a hotel by the airport and the dining in the area was not inspiring. I found this fantastic spot and as a solo, business traveler I enjoyed a treat. I used the valet parking because after fighting Miami traffic I was done trying to figure things out. I didn't make a reservation but they made me feel so special throughout my meal. I happened to come in prior to the end of Happy Hour so they have a 2 drinks for the price of one! I ordered a delicious old fashioned which was made so well. The staff was attentive in my request to try some appetizers and sample a few different things. I enjoyed the short rib empanadas and croquettes. I also had the table side prepared Caesar salad. I finished my meal with the absolutely superb lemon sorbet! They had a singer who gave a wonderful performance and vibe and I felt spoiled by attentive staff throughout my meal. Finally tried the Hereford Grill for happy hour on a Friday. They offer two for one drinks (everything but beer or wine) from 4-7pm on weekdays and all day Tuesday. I tried the Cherry Negroni and it was amazing to say the least- I typically don't enjoy Negronis. Their signature drink list is amazing- with over 20 different drinks to choose from. They don't offer happy hour food, so we just choose the empanadas to share. They came with a tomato chutney and were beef and onion filled. 10/10! The service was great, even when the bar filled up. The way the decorated the space is truly unique, with an all glass exterior. Can't wait to go back for dinner or lunch. read more

A disappointing experience. Came here recently with friends to try out the Miami Spice menu and see the new restaurant. Suffered through an excruciatingly long wait to get our entrees. Close to an hour. It was curious to observe the manager/owner older Venezuelan man visiting just about every table except ours. I wonder why that was? He should have been over as soon as things were delayed to apologize and offer an explanation. The matr'd offered to "make things right" by giving us shots. I don't drink and would have preferred another compensation. The atmosphere was lively; however the restaurant felt very cramped and crowded and the service felt very cheesy/salesy from the matr'd There was also no signage in the garage or front door indicating the restaurant was inside. We dined at Hereford Grill last night. Given that it was the Sunday after Thanksgiving, it was probably less crowded than usual. The restaurant is beautiful. We had the most amazing service. Our waiter Alex was great. He has quite a story about Ellen DeGeneres that he shared with us. The steak was tomato/burrata and gem salad were both delicious. The New York steak was wonderful.
