Sandwiches are not big and you have to dress your own coffee. Sandwiches were good but the coffee was not "award winning." I went back in to pour myself a little more coffee and got dirty looks. I thought for 40 bucks that I could refill my coffee cup. Beware of the prices when you go in. I think hot coffees are like 8 or 9 bucks, ridiculous. Thanks

The server pulled our chairs out, the host was kind and smiley and our waitress was so down to earth. Mila the founder was also here greeting guests haha. The decor was nice, lots of flowers and girly things, my wife loved it and took pictures. The breakfast burrito was killer, the lavender lemonade while not very purple was out of this world. Yappy Hour featured $7 fresh squeezed crushes and a $7 Salty Dog cocktail. Yappy Hour is every Saturday from 5-8pm. The restaurant itself is a good size with roughly 12 tables. It always appears to be clean and well kept. Their birria is my favorite. I've had the pizza (for 2), the tacos and the quesadilla, all always delish. My wife typically orders the mushroom quesadilla which are really nice and fresh. We enjoy Monte's and you would too.

Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by the excessive smoke and heat coming from the open kitchen. I'm not sure who designed the ventilation system, but it clearly isn't working properly. There was a visible haze of smoke throughout the dining room, our eyes were watering, and everyone at our table was uncomfortably warm. I felt especially bad for the kitchen and wait staff, who have to work in those conditions every day. By the time we got home, all of our clothes smelled like smoke and had to be washed. It's a shame because the food was so good, but the ventilation issues really detracted from what should have been a memorable meal. Come on, guys--please fix it!
