Okay experience. Upon arriving we were met with a friendly but a bit frantic hostess. The place was by no means busy and she was acting as though they were swamped. Once we sat down our server arrived who seemed less than pleased to be serving us, he was nice enough but barley spoke with us and seemed to not want to be there. For food I had the Mediterranean omelette which truthfully was not very good, it was borderline flavorless. Additionally our server barley checked in with us. Ambiance is fine, its your typical casual brunch spot - don't expect anyone dressed well or an elevated experience. I came for brunch on a Wednesday and was surprised to see Toast wasn't empty for such an awkward time of day. I've been to a different Toast location and they're always good. I had the southwest breakfast bowl with a side of maple bacon and it was delicious. My husband had the pancake flight and the crab hash. We loved the pancakes, especially the lemon poppy one, but he didn't like the hash and said it was too "fishy." I tried it and it was fine, but I think it's canned crab and not fresh so that's probably why. Service was friendly and prices are great. read more

I'm a local AP resident and have gone to Toast on/off since they've opened. Consequently, their food quality and service have also been on/off since they've opened! I went there last Wednesday with a friend and we both agreed, Toast is toast for us! I ordered the breakfast sandwich with Taylor ham. What I got was a breakfast sandwich with lunch meat ham. When I brought this to our server's attention, she did not know the difference between Pork Roll and Taylor Ham- which were the menu options for the sandwich. (I grew up in NJ I know the difference!) The Brioche was stale and crumbly, not fresh. The roasted potatoes lacked flavor, seasoning (salt,) and heat (as in temperature!) Our server offered to have the kitchen re-do, but I had a client meeting to get to following my breakfast. My friend ordered the smoked salmon omelet and was equally disappointed. There was very little smoked salmon in it, one needed a magnifying glass to find it! I'm not kidding - it was embarrassingly sparse! Her side order of fruit was small, lacked imagination (try using some local fresh fruit that's in season) and flavorless; and at an upcharge for the substitution. I've really wanted Toast to wow me - but sadly, it's time to look elsewhere. Food is decent. Been coming here off and on for years. However, today when I arrived, the restaurant was not busy and they refused to seat me at a table because my 3 family members were not with me. I explained that I was going to start eating and ordering before they arrived because I was leaving at a different time than they were. I also explained that my family was 15 min away. The hostess said that if there were two of us here they would seat me. When I asked the hostess if she could please ask if I could still be seated, the manager came out and was visibly angry especially when I asked why. I pointed out they were not busy. They said it was their policy. No logical explanation. Just plain indignant. They offered to serve me at the counter to have me start eating there and then when my family arrived shortly thereafter, I could mid meal, stop eating and walk over with my have my half eaten meal to a table. I declined and said I will wait. I went back to my car parked in front of the restaurant. Then family members within 10 min arrived except my husband who went around the corner paying for parking. They still refused to seat us even though the hostess told me she would if at least two of us were present. I explained my husband was around the corner paying for parking. The hostess saw the car driven by my husband dropping off my father and son. She still refused. Now they were really going to assert the policy! Just plain PETTY. My elderly father was shocked at how they were making him wait. Clearly had trouble walking with ease. So, we left. Do not go there unless all of your party are with you. Otherwise, you will be met with an illogical policy which they take even further making you wait longer when they initially offered to compromise because you asked kindly for an explanation. read more

We've gone here a couple of times and the food is always good. I'm glad that they have options for different dietary requirements. We normally get takeout and sit in the park, but service is good when we have gone in, slightly less good when you're sitting outside. Our meals were amazingly delicious...we tried carrot cake pancakes, bananas foster French toast and the special breakfast quesadilla (scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage, bacon and cheddar cheese. Avocado, potatoes, veggies...I think there needs to be at least two eggs in this thing instead of one, but you could basically throw anything in a bowl with that chipotle mayo and I'd eat it all. Definitely add chorizo. Always add chorizo. Because I'm a glutton, I also shared some corned beef hash with my wife. Unpopular opinion: I love canned corned beef hash. More so than most homemade versions, this one included. However, it was still good, just needed more salt, pepper, and hot sauce. I could say that about most food though (I want the whole world to be properly seasoned). The staff was unfailingly nice, especially since we had multiple birthdays at the table. That said, some extra napkins would really have been appreciated earlier, as my younger daughter is an absolute savage. Went here early on a Saturday morning with a friend for breakfast after being on the beach. We had stopped for coffee beforehand and the hostess rudely said we couldn't bring our outside drinks in which was fine but her tone of voice was off-putting. The atmosphere is inviting, and the food is top-notch. I'll often get the Avocado Toast, Waffles, and/or Irish Eggs Benedict each of which will come out beautifully presented on your plate. The bread was toasted to perfection, and the avocado was mashed just right. The waffles were light and fluffy, and the perfect amount of crispy on the outside served with fresh berries and whipped cream. You can't go wrong with any of them. The menu is extensive, with plenty of options for all tastes and optional dietary needs, plus perfect lattes! Their lunch menu is pretty solid as well, no complaints here. Went with the Cheesesteak and that came out spectacular. Want to stop back around to try their burgers next time I'm in town. The service and wait staff were excellent and quick to fill my coffee and water as needed. They seemed to work a lot of tables, but that's to be expected on a busy Sunday. Ventured out to Asbury Park today to enjoy the day and seek out some new tasty food fines this reviews about toast a great weekend brunch place. Being that it was Mother's Day we opt to call before arriving in Asbury to align on getting on a list and finding out if they were taking walk-ins, which gladly they were. We were shown to a lovely highboy table out of the back patio and had very nice sun tarp covering and a breeze coming off the ocean. Our server Colin, who I will say is a superstar, came out to greet us, introduce us to the menu, take our starting beverage orders and get us set up for our brunch experience. After a few questions and asking Colin for his recommendations as first-timers at Toast, we arrived upon our brunch dishes. I had the harvest wrap- Roasted turkey, brie cheese, Granny Smith apples, maple bacon, and cranberry aïoli in a whole wheat wrap with a side salad instead of fries for me and my wife had the huevos rancheros- Two corn tortillas layered with egg whites, cotija cheese, cilantro, tomatillo sauce, frijoles served with sour cream on the side and we actually did get the tri meat mix which added a nice touch of extra flavor. luckily they were able to substitute in egg whites and added avocado for a really nice topper.
