Went to Berkeley Cut on Friday and everything was absolutely delicious. We started with the octopus appetizer -- it was phenomenal. Perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My wife got the filet mignon steak and said it was outstanding, cooked perfectly just how she wanted it. I had the vodka sauce pasta with sausage, and the pasta tasted incredibly fresh -- just all around amazing. Great food, great experience. Definitely recommend! read more

Our waitress was great, even when she got very busy she made sure we were taken care of by others. We relaxed over our bottle of wine then had octopus and clams in garlic sauce for our appetizer. The octopus was out of this world delicious the clams were just ok. For the meal 2 had the porterhouse and I had the lamb chop appetizer with 2 sides, all was cooked to perfection. One of us had dessert to share and coffee. The dessert was like the girl scout cookie samoas, 2 excellent donuts with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, enough for 3 to share. The stars are all for the food as everything was delicious. We went memorial weekend and it was chilly so service was slow and we were seated outside with not enough fire places to cover all the tables. We shared one with another table and asked three people to turn on the other one until we finally learned it was broken. The dishes were great - shared the crab/avocado, steak meatballs, and the lobster bolognese. We shared the filet mignon, strip steak and halibut with a side of Brussels sprouts and asparagus. Amazing food and drinks! Dress code online says formal but there are people in jeans. Don't wear a hoodie, though. No cut offs, etc. Yes, the place is pricey. The atmosphere upholds that. Had a nice relaxing guitarist in the corner. There's a bar with maybe about 15 seats. Probably about the same amount of tables, plus a spacious patio. Filet minion ($62) and NY strip ($64) were cooked perfectly. Got the flight of sauces with it and that was well worth the $18. The bordelaise was our favorite. My boyfriend had the Berkeley Infusion drink that was served through an "oversized martini glass shaped pitcher." ($18 See photo) It was sweet and fruity. I had the Bee's Knees ($18.) It had a kick to it (hot honey for the win!) and was perfectly balanced. Delicious drinks! Even the house Pinot Grigio was good! (Alois Lageder $11) If you get a port for dessert, I suggest the Bin 27 ($16.) Speaking of dessert, the cobbler was amazing! I don't like cobblers, but this was a hot, fruity plate of goodness. All in all, amazing experience. The only reason it gets 4 instead of 5 stars: 3% credit card fee that ALSO affects the tax percentage. It added an extra ~ $10 to the tab. So where to start?! With Joe, our server! This guy was an A+++... knowledgeable, personable and I want BCS and the owners to know that. Great person. Reservations at 6pm on Saturday of Labor Day Weekend on patio. And...never felt rushed or hurried in anyway. The whole crew made us feel at home, including young bussers.... We got three apps to share (between 5) - pork ribs, littlenecks and surf/turf skewers. All exceptional. Entrees ranged from a couple A+ steaks to some Ahi, lobster tails and halibut. So...you can look at the price but you can't experience the quality until you've ordered here!!! Dessert time was a mix of crème brûlées, tartufos, kahlua and steamed milk and Irish coffees. Great experience On Dec 6, 2025. Dinner date with my husband on a Saturday. Packed restaurant! Could only get an early reservation. Nice surprise was live entertainment (beyond awesome! Playing a combo of holiday jazz instrumental and 70's-80's light music). Food was incredible (please order the garlic bread).... but guess what!?? aside from the amazing food... the actual gem was the service. Jared M. was professional, knowledgeable and attentive. Get this..... Jared took a knee at our table to connect with us and explain the dessert options. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about all the food there. Thank you Jared! Hands down, the best steakhouse in the seaside area! This spot offers an upscale yet comfortable steakhouse ambiance with beautiful decor and excellent service! I mean - this spot just underwent quite a transformation and I was blown away. I'll need to go back and get the full summer experience with the patio bar and outdoor seating but this was a solid steakhouse - one of the best at the jersey shore IMO The interior design was nice a cozy rustic modern feel with an awesome bar right when you walk in. We called in Friday and were told dogs that are well behaved and won't Disturb patrons are allowed in the patio. We brought three dogs and saw other dogs there. We went back today and a manager comes out and tells us they aren't a dog friendly after seeing us walk by with dogs. We were very confused and she replied that she wasn't there Friday. I had been hearing mixed reviews, but had an incredible meal and experience when my bf and I went last weekend. The ambiance is very chic and it's nice to have an upscale steakhouse so close by! The octopus was amazing (chimichurri sauce was on point!) as was the tomahawk. We also ordered the wedge salad, brussel sprouts, and truffle parm fries. My bf insisted on dessert and we had a great special which was banana biscoff cake (by far one of the best desserts I've ever had!) Our $18 drinks were wrong, and my parents' $70 steaks arrived while I waited over 25 minutes for my chicken that never arrived. No one checked on us, so we had to approach management--who did not care. After another 10 minutes, my food still wasn't there. My parents' steaks were cold since they were waiting for me, and we had no choice but to leave. The offered us no apology, no refund--just a complete waste of time and money. We are down the beach tonight and craving a good hunk of dead beef lol. Heard about a place called Berkeley Cut so off we go. I went online and pulled up their menu and sooprize, sooprize, sooprize, no prices. Went to Yelp pulled up a picture of the menu and saw a 46oz Porter House for two at $120. Yummy I'm in. Went to make a reservation and bam shut down nothing available for 3 days. So our friend who was sitting next to us on the beach advised just show up and sit at the bar for dinner. Ahhhh my smile came back. 6:15 pm we arrive and the place is packed with about 15 people waiting, there is an inside bar and an outside bar both had plenty of seats available. Double Jack on the rocks here I come. Our bartenders were very nice, went over our specials. Porter house look out. Well we can scratch that off. The $120 porter house was a picture 3 years ago, did not investigate that enough lol. In three years the price went up 40% to $165. Sorry now my principles take over. Andrea ordered an 8oz filet and I ordered 20oz NY strip. The sides we picked were creamy spinach with bacon and melted blue cheese. Along with grilled Brussel sprouts. Dinner came out out in about 20 min. The steaks were done to perfection and had a very nice seasoning. The brussel sprouts were excellent along with the spinach. No dessert because it's now time for ice cream and ski ball. This place has a hip vibe to it, and the outdoor area was clean and inviting. Total bill was $200. Is it pricey yes, would I get a steak every time no. They have a bar menu with sandwiches that looked really good and other dishes I would like to try. We started with octopus with crispy frites, fried cherry peppers over chimichuri. A delicious arugula salad with a house vinaigrette. Coconut shrimp was so so. For entrees we shared a 16oz dry aged ny strip and it did not disappoint. Great selection of cocktails and drinks with excellent service. Wish we read the reviews before we entered. We were excited to try a new place and couldn't wait for their opening. The building makeover looks great, but for what they spent on making it look nice, they should have spent on training, as it is severely lacks in service. We arrived and every employee were standing around chatting, blocking the entry as well as the rest rooms. We were not greeted. I had to say excuse me to get there evokes chatting at the bathroom entrance to step aside so I could enter. I returned from the rest room and S was still standing at the entry not seated. He is 6'3, hard to miss. Finally, someone sat us (there was only one other table of guests), yet we were seated at a dirty table with literally a whole piece of toast on my chair, the floor was filthy and spilled liquid was on so many areas of the floor between the bar/front door and our table we were worried to slip. The owner or manager stood nearby enough to our table that we could overhear his conversation as he chatted with two waitresses about their upcoming travel plans. While we were ignored along with the mess. Sadly, I cannot tell you about the food as after sitting, ignored, for ten minutes, no one came to wipe our table, bring us water, coffee, or take our order, so we got up and left, again no one seemed to notice us as we made our way to the door. We don't plan on going back, which is a shame because it's within walking distance to our home. Hopefully they fix these issues as they are not new to the restaurant game, they also own Bum Rogers, so hopefully they will train their staff much better and enjoy a bristling business. read more

What an absolutely phenomenal meal. First visit to the new dry aged steakhouse was an unbelievable success. Beautiful job done by the owners in renovating the building to create an upscale vibe. Bar service was great while we waited for our table. The Watermelon Tuna Poke was a home run, the deep cove oysters were magnificent. The lollipop lamp chops were a true pleasure.
