Mushroom tacos

Mushroom tacos? Don't be scared....they are delicious! Service was great, too. I was in town for work and chose Henry's Place for dinner. I'm glad I did. Henry's place is a cozy little spot located in a shopping center. It has a nice, homey kind of feel. If I lived in town, I know I'd be a regular.

Canadian Oysters (after we ate them)

Henry's Place - it was our first time here, and we'd heard about the prime rib, so I decided to order that. It was perfectly tender and seasoned, with a subtle au jus that took it up a notch. The Greek fries were a unique and perfect pairing. My wife's salmon, while simple on flavor (emphasis on the salmon, with some salt and light seasoning), was perfectly grilled. The Brussels were a bit more balsamic flavored than we prefer, but had great crispy texture. The Canadian oysters were super fresh and small, which I prefer for ease of eating / texture. The restaurant was busy, and we didn't get any silverware until our dinner came, which meant we had to eat out salads and dinner at the same time, but the service was excellent and quick overall, and we were more than happy to give a pass given the very busy Valentine's Day weekend. Overall we had a great experience and our food was excellent.

Excellent food and drink. Fast friendly service. Not much to look at inside but the Lobster roll was delicious.

Cool place with a decent atmosphere but a strange manager with a bit of an attitude. I'll keep looking. Where's Henry BTW?

Oysters were amazing! We also got Reuben egg rolls and chicken wings. Both were equally delicious! Will definitely be going here again!

Our server, Will, suggested a wine that turned out to be spot-on: a dry, subtle Chardonnay, nicely chilled and presented in a granite cooler on our table like it was royalty. Loved that detail. The entrées did not disappoint. My husband had the salmon, delicately enhanced with salmoriglio, served with wild rice atop a light bed of bok choy and baby carrots--simple, fresh, and perfectly balanced. I had the crab-stuffed shrimp, which was absolutely fabulous, also with wild rice, baby carrots, and that sneaky little layer of bok choy you barely notice but totally appreciate. It was a busy Saturday night, so definitely make reservations--it's worth it. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance: lively but not loud, elegant without being stuffy--the kind of place that makes you feel justified putting on heels and lipstick just because. And a special shoutout to GM Brad, who was absolutely wonderful, along with the rest of the staff. Warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming--service like that makes a great meal unforgettable. We'll absolutely be back.

Dinner and service, however, was a huge disappointment. The 3 differnt pasta dishes ordered were bland and the pasta overcooked. The Carbonara tasted like Alfredo with some bacon pieces thrown in. While the accompaniments to the Branzino were good, the fish was overcooked and dry. Server was inattentive and didn't check on how the mains were. They also couldn't get the bill correct. We won't be back for a while. Hopefully, things will improve with time.

Pretentious bartender who really really wants to be known for being a mixologist. Don't you dare ask to modify any of his ingenious cocktail creations. I've been to many many bars in my lifetime. Nice bars, hole in the walls, distilleries, hotel bars, outdoor bars, cute little trailer-wedding bars, speakeasies. You get my point. My standards are high but i'm down wherever too. this is the first time anyone has refused to modify a drink for me. and i'm not talking about changing everything. i'm talking about swapping out mezcal for gin (there are barely any gin cocktails anymore). i've been here three or four times since the new bartender-- and i don't even sit at the bar anymore. the only redeeming quality of the place is the chef(s?) who I feel really takes care of people and makes the food with love and care and excellence. the burgers and steak are literal perfection. Le sigh. Travis if you're reading this-- Mike and I miss you!! Management, please try to get him back! Give him a fat raise! anything! your restaurant is going downhill quickly because 1) Travis is gone 2) Inflexible pretentious guy took his place.

Of course I'm gonna Yelp the area and see where my fellow Yelpers are gonna take me. I'm not a wine person, but I definitely am a burger and beer connoisseur. I needed a quiet place to do a little work on the laptop too so I headed to the Bridge Street Social. I got there shortly after it opened and was seated right away. The staff were super friendly, and it's pretty obvious they love working here. I order the wagyu double cheeseburger and a beer they had on tap. I have to say everything about this burger was on point. Well seasoned smash patties, fresh ingredients, and a perfect sauce. I'm not a huge fry guy either, but even those were tasty. The interior of the business was small. There's a couple walk throughs into additional dining space from a room next door, but I'd suggest sitting in the main bar area. It's not a big space but that's where all the action is. A cozy place with friendly staff and even friendlier customers. Parking can be a little a little bit of a walk on busier nights. There's a few spots available out front, and a few more down the side, but the rest are about a block or two away in nearby downtown lots. I ended up coming back a couple nights later because I wanted to bring my GF. We drove from home which was about a 30 minute drive. It was well worth it. We got the smoked meatloaf that is OFF THE CHARTS!! Meals can be a little pricey, but it's well worth the drive and the cost. If you want a cheap meal, order off a fast food dollar menu somewhere else. You want an all around fabulous meal, great atmosphere, and friendly conversation, I'll see you at the Social!!

The short rib sandwich appeared to have several nice ingredients layered as far as toppings, and I don't doubt the quality of ingredients, however the flavors just weren't right. I don't eat out for French fries. After paying $18.00 just for food, I'm at home eating. I know everyone has cost that continue to rise, but that's ridiculous. I don't go out for oversized meals. I choose places that have things I'm not making at home. I will spend my money at establishments that are staying within reason rather than over charging for food that's not worthy.
