The woman behind the bar was rude. I ordered 3 whiskeys from the menu and they were out of all 3. So I ordered 3 that I could see on the shelf. When I received them, the female bartender told me "You could have ordered this in a flight." I told her "Well that's a piece of information that would have been useful 10 minutes ago." She responded with "You ordered everything so fast I didn't get a chance." So, I guess according to her, I was in the wrong. She's lucky I didn't walk out then and there. I considered it. For the next couple hours my wife and I sat at the bar, we watched her berate and speak down to her waitstaff and bartenders. Very good neighborhood pub. Took my son, the cajun fries and fish tacos were quite good. Service was as quick as it was going to be due to staffing shortages. As it stands, I couldn't really tell the difference in speed between before the pandemic and last night. If it was 5 minutes longer it wasn't worth noticing. read more

So with the reviews I think I may have had overextended hopes for this place. It's a strip mall restaurant, right next to a Chinese buffet. It can easily be missed. The inside is quite small. I ordered the chicken Alfredo. The chicken was quite nice, but the sauce was pretty underwhelming, but fixed with extra Parmesan. My husband got a burger and subbed poutine. I am a huge poutine fan, and this just didn't live up to the hype. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. The burger was decent and my son's chicken fingers were pretty standard as well. Ordered a Caesar Salad with chicken. Received a salad that had so much dressing on it, it was like soup - lettuce swimming in dressing that was watery and unlike any Caesar dressing I've had. I took one bite of the "chicken" and could barely swallow it. It was gross. Tasted like it was microwaved to be warmed up but then also tasted like it was a piece of rubber yet also raw at the same time. I don't know what the heck it was but I have never once in my life tasted chicken to have that flavor or texture. It's almost that they cook the chicken part way, store it till someone orders it, then finishes it in a microwave. I have no idea if it was even chicken. It isn't a grilled chicken breast, it had no marks on it whatsoever from either pan, flattop or grill cooking. Was it poached? Gross. I'm not one to send food back but this was an absolute joke. I politely sent it back, explained it was inedible and gross, that I do not want it replaced with anything else. Waitress apologized, but it's not her fault, it's the chef and kitchen staffs fault for serving what is quite possibly the most disgusting dish I have ever been served in my 40yrs of life. The food was average to bad. I ordered the bruschetta and it was drenched and soggy. The bread had no crunch to it because of the gross amount of Balsamic Glaze that was poured over it. Really fun neighborhood bar. Excellent beer selection and the food has been good whenever I've gone. The prices are pretty great and they have a late night happy hour. Wow. So I've been living in Okemos for just about a year now and have had my eye on Henry's for quite some time. Tonight it finally happened. We went, we saw, we conquered... and we will definitely be going back. A tad bit pricy but not completely out of line. It's clean, the staff is extremely friendly and genuine, and the food is great! Okra and great booze!! What more can you ask for? I LOVE this place!! The only complaint I have is that the main (daytime) bartender lady is always either all hot or all cold. She is either super nice or super rude and indifferent about your presence completely, like she's doing you a favor by waiting on you. She is not helpful or enjoyable. That rubs me the wrong way. I never know which one I'm going to get. Otherwise, everything is top notch! I love that the owner is always trying out new flavors in all aspects...food, cocktails, and events! The four star average here is pretty weird. I visited on a Thursday with a group of five and had a lackluster experience. The service was meh. They forgot to give us menus, beer list is hard to read on the televisions, and our server was quite slow. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and it was also meh. If you allow yourself to look past the seemingly bizzare location, you will find what I would argue is the probably the best bar and grill establishment in the Lansing area. I have been highly satisfied with everything I have tried on the menu, although my favorite items are the fish tacos and crab cheese wontons. It is clear that careful consideration is given to the food that is served to it's patrons, as well as their dining experience; the space is cozy and clean, and the staff service has always been exceptional in my experience. If I were living on campus, I'd definitely make the 5 minute trek to come here, because poutine fries. Those are a must. The mussels were really good although I would've preferred more of that yummy buttery wine infused liquid so I could sop my bread up with. If you're craving some good Asian buffet just go next door for that and then come to Henry's for a good drink or two! Whatever floats your boat. They also have darts and shuffleboard, yes! Not sure what her role is or if she should even have one, but the older lady that was wearing a grey sweat shirt is one of the most off putting persons I have ever encountered. She rushed us, took over 10 min to make our drinks when the bar was not full, and was down right snippy. Her attire was not in the least professional, as we could see her bra because her shirt was open in the back, and she reaked of cigs. My sister and I stopped in while running errands around okemos. I was really excited to try it out. Definitely a lot smaller than I had originally thought. They have two dart boards for cricket and a vast beer selection. Upon walking in, it took a solid 15 minutes for anyone to stop by. The restaurant was not busy, but they could have been understaffed. Finally a waitress comes by to take our order, and it probably took another 15 minutes to get our drinks. We ordered a grilled cheese, chicken chili, crab cheese wontons, and truffle fries. Everything came out like warm. Wontons were exactly what you would find at a buffet. Couldn't taste any truffle oil in the fries. After reading so many good reviews, I was shocked our experience was the way it was. Service was terrible, but I try to give the benefit of the doubt if it was an off day. I think this place has great potential, but service needs to improve. I will come back to give them another shot. read more

Brand new pub! Their drink menu and on tap beers is great. We tried the wings and poutine fries both were very good. I had the special which was fish tacos and it was delicious. The only reason they received four stars was because they overcooked the burgers. My husband ordered medium rare and the burger came back well done. That's a big jump!
