peppermint mocha
Maggie H.

I came here for a birthday brunch~ I absolutely LOVED the peppermint mocha- the presentation, the flavor: delicious. I love that it came in a mug and was so pretty. Drinks and food came not too long after ordering. I ate the green ridge mac and cheese. It was so rich with flavor and heavy filling meal. Henry's on Clay is popular, so lunch time will be packed. The seating area is fairly small because the chairs and tables are placed together. There is free street parking, but there's no designated lot.

Mediocre food and service. I really wanted to like this place but there was just not enough likable things about it.

Anytime I come to Scranton, I stop here for breakfast/lunch. From their causally chic decor to their uniquely designed menu, I know that I will have a great experience. If you are someone that likes classic dishes with a unique twist in components and flavors, this is your place. I was a little nervous to try some of their dishes the first time but boy oh boy, their dishes do not disappoint! Service is always friendly and we've come at a good time so we never had to wait for a table but the place gets crowded. Street/residential parking so that can be tough at times.

I always have a great experience here! The food is delicious and they do specials. The bakery items are fantastic and you should definitely take some with you. Portions are big and flavorful and the staff is super friendly. I always come here at least once during every work trip.

Omelet

Stopped in here for a quick breakfast. Cute little restaurant with lots of coffee refreshments. The waiter was attentive and offered food service. I ordered an omelet with bacon, sausage, onion, and cheddar cheese. The sausage did not taste like typical pork sausage. The omelet was big and served with a choice of bread. I added some hot sauce to my omelet for more flavor!

Cute and quaint! Food was amazing! Definitely recommend the chicken and waffles. Lavender Matcha was yummy!

First of all, I would like to compliment the atmosphere and the building itself, classically constructed and the interior design was simplistic yet beautiful! The food tasted absolutely amazing and stunningly prepared! Service was a very nice and personable experience!

A happy customer after an excellent meal and service

Couldn't be happier with the meal, service, atmosphere and vibe! The food was fresh, the staff was friendly and treated us like the mayor!

Hummus platter

Sadly we have to downgrade our rating. We were very excited to come back to our 5 * rated establishment with our best friends. The food is quite exceptional and it did not disappoint again. We ordered the hummus platter, french toast churros, the Lizzie (avocado toast with a fried egg), waffles with a side of bacon, the Bill & Kay (turkey pastrami, pork roll, swiss cheese and sauerkraut on rye) and the Dean Cali combo (breakfast sandwich with choice of meat). All of our dishes were fantastic! Food quality is super high and healthy while also being a generous portion. Where it all went wrong was the service. Granted, it was a Saturday at 10 am and the place was packed. All of the servers were hustling. Our food came out very slow. No one came to check on us or offer a second cup of coffee or water. Despite this, we would recommend coming because the food is just that good!

Dutch baby!

Having grown up in the area and since moved away I was always sad that the Scranton area had such trouble keeping good businesses open and attracting new ones. We were back in NEPA to visit some family and friends in January and we were really pleased to come here as it was a new restaurant for us (it opened several years ago, but we don't get to come back often). We came for breakfast and it was a really great meal! Our server was attentive and took good care of us throughout the meal and the coffee was pretty tasty. I got a breakfast sandwich that was very flavorful and my side of home fries was great; the glaze they had on them was savory and added a different flavor profile to the meal. My wife had a Dutch baby and it was very, very good and not something that's easy to find on menus, so that was great. We were very impressed by Henry's on Clay and would definitely come back!

The Bill & Kay

Unique that's is what this restaurant is. Very unique menu. Delicious food. Nice cheery & bright atmosphere with very friendly staff. Coffee is very good, many different types to choose from. My turkey pastrami dusted pork roll Swiss cheese bacon sauerkraut 1000 island rye was awesome!

1 hr for avocado/toast and home fries. Can't make this up.

I keep trying to give this place a chance. Came for brunch on a Thursday. Only two other people that were already eating. Another couple walked in 20 minutes after my daughter and I. Two couples that walked in after us got their food in less than 15 minutes because they were friends with the waiter. It took an hour and 10 minutes to get my food and I ended up ordering it to go and took them another 15 minutes to pack it. Still not a lot of costumers in the store and he was waltzing around the place. Food was not great for the price that they charged for bread and avocado toast and French toasts ( 1hr to prepare). Do yourself a favor and don't come here. Go elsewhere that the food and service is better. Scranton/Dunmore area has a lot of great places for coffee/brunch. Then didn't leave a tip and waiter told me I was rude.. followed me to the car just to tell me that.

French toast with berry chutney

I visited a few weeks ago for breakfast with my very picky 13 year old daughter. My French toast was very good, but she loved her chicken and waffles. At the time, she said that it was the best she's ever had, and 3 weeks later, she's still talking about it and wanting to go back. Sadly, we live 5 hours away. I brought home lemon, pistachio biscotti, and a biscuit, which were both really good, too. The place is spare but charming and service was good. We'd go back.

Do you need reservations?

No, they are not required but it's a small place so you may want to, but they do take walk-ins.

Do they have high chairs for infants/toddlers?

Yes, but it is a SUPER SUPER tight squeeze trying to fit a high chair at a table here, you should be ok if you don't go at a busy time or if you luck into the only booth and have a toddler, otherwise it could be an issue. They do not have anywhere… Read more

No time to chat while you're working through the thin, crispy, slightly charred crust; small talk dies when you try the quattro formaggio with red sauce, or even the simple mozzarella and tomato pie (best for kids, but they'll wanna try them all). But my favorite; the tomato pie - crushed tomatoes dusted with pecorino Romano and a touch of olive oil. I could have that as the start to every meal, morning, noon and night. It's light, simple, clean and full of flavor. Apizza (said as "A-Beetz"), similar to the New Haven, Connecticut pies made with minimalist ingredients, is a twist on the classic Neapolitan style. Zummo's is a coffee shop and cafe. I found it on Yelp. I could just tell it would be good. The number 2 way to judge a coffee shop. The coffee is good. My black iced coffee was good, and served quickly even though there were a lot of people there. They also sell beans from multiple roasters. Mostly blends. I was always talk about the shock and awe of a spot's baked goods case. I was shocked and awed. They had gigantic, amazing looking scones. I bought one that I'm saving for my family. I ordered a piece of one of 3 frittatas available. Spinach feta. It was way above average for cafe frittata. Good flavor and texture. They had a number of bagel sandwiches ready to be cooked. Although the front room was full when I walked in, it turns out they have a large back room as well. Lots of seating. Wood floors. They also have cool outside seating. I was impressed by Zummo's, and also the closeness of the Scranton community. Lots of people walking together outside. Gathering over coffee. Saying Hi to people. Scranton is doing something right. 5 Stars

The format was unusual in that it appeared to be a carry out place- but with a dining room attached. You order & pay- then go sit and wait for your meal to be served. The dining room is more comfortable than a typical pizza place with a family warmth. Our crew ordered chicken soup, burgers, pizza and a sub to go for out basketball player. We selected their "Old Forge" style pizza- iconic to the region. It didn't disappoint. The crust was light & crispy, the sauce in the sweet side and the blend of cheeses (including American cheese which is the hallmark, I'm told, of the style). It was delicious. I am a pizza 'freak'. I've enjoyed pizza from iconic restaurants in Naples, Rome, Chicago, New York, California, Detroit and now...Scranton! The burger people praised their 8oz. Burgers. The diner that enjoyed chicken soup (an accomplished cook) had high praise for the home made flavor and textures. When you add that we were treated like family members of this family owned establishment, our experience was exceptional. My only "complaints" are that: the check was far less than expected and (more of an opportunity than a complaint) I would have spent $$ for a nice red wine to complement my meal.
