Zummo's is such a lovely local coffee shop! I'm originally from the area and come back to see family a few times per year and try to find new places when my wife and I visit. We discovered Zummo's last year and have been back each time we're in as the coffee and pastries are fantastic. The drinks are very flavorful and we've enjoyed bringing home some bagged coffee as well. The pastries have been excellent as well and we try to get something new each time (all of which have been delicious). It's wonderful to see Scranton have such a nice local coffeeshop and we hope they continue being great for years to come! read more

Here's the number 1 way to judge a coffee shop. You arrive, and there is a community of people enjoying their time there. That's the first thing I noticed when I walked in. Zummo's is a coffee shop and cafe. I found it on Yelp. I could just tell it would be good. The number 2 way to judge a coffee shop. The coffee is good. My black iced coffee was good, and served quickly even though there were a lot of people there. They also sell beans from multiple roasters. Mostly blends. I was always talk about the shock and awe of a spot's baked goods case. I was shocked and awed. They had gigantic, amazing looking scones. I bought one that I'm saving for my family. I ordered a piece of one of 3 frittatas available. Spinach feta. It was way above average for cafe frittata. Good flavor and texture. They had a number of bagel sandwiches ready to be cooked. Although the front room was full when I walked in, it turns out they have a large back room as well. Lots of seating. Wood floors. They also have cool outside seating. I was impressed by Zummo's, and also the closeness of the Scranton community. Lots of people walking together outside. Gathering over coffee. Saying Hi to people. Stopped here while passing through town. Great atmosphere, we hung out and drank our drinks and charged our phones in the gracious dining/work/study area. I had the following and everything was outrageously delicious: Homemade Peanut butter ball Homemade breakfast bar Iced matcha Smoothie (can't recall which one, but it was green) Great service, I asked for a non plastic for here cup option and was given them plus a metal spoon upon request and Thanked instead of hissed at for that request. I was in town visiting family friends and was in search for a cute cafe for breakfast. So happy I was able to stop by Zummo's! Located on a side street, with plenty of street parking or parking in the lot across the street on weekends. It's such a cute cafe, with a beautiful mural on the side wall. Once you walk in, you'll feel the homey ambiance. They offer multiple options of coffee and tea, scones and sandwiches, and even açaí bowls! I ordered an iced Honey Lavender latte, HIGHLY recommend! For food, I ordered a veggie breakfast sandwich and shared 3 of their macaroons with my sister. Service was fast and friendly. Loved that they offer more seating in the back, free wifi, and even a small patio space outside if you're wanting fresh air while eating/drinking. I'll definitely be back! read more

Cute restaurant with a nice, homey atmosphere. Serbia is order at counter and wait for your drink/food. I ordered a decaf cappuccino. It was not very well made. Don't know if the barista was inexperienced or if the grounds were old, but it was very acidic and didn't have a good coffee flavor. Portion size was very small for over $5. Disappointing, to say the least. Food looks outstanding. A person behind me got a quiche and it looked excellent--steaming hot, crustless, so probably gluten free. Lots of parfaits and even have a nice looking breakfast bar. Only 1 unisex toilet and the wait was quite long. For as many folks who eat here, they should consider a second toilet! read more

Arguably the best coffee shop in the Scranton area - this shop continues to impress with constant improvement, friendly staff, and great selections. This is easy spot to shop in a residential neighborhood filled with plenty of parking. The outside is often decorated (by artists who also work the front desk) and kept clean and presentable. As soon as you walk in, you'll notice the artsy interior and are usually greeted by the friendly staff. In fact, if you come here as often as we do (nearly every day), they'll even learn your name and order. Nothing crazy but it's definitely nice of them to remember. They're open all day and they usually get packed during the morning/afternoon rushes. Saturday and Sunday mornings tend to be the busiest times, but it's worth the wait. Depending on the line, you might have a bit of a wait (10 - 20 minutes), but often enough you're in and out. If you're waiting (or choosing to dine in), you can always grab a seat indoors or on the backside patio on a nice day. There's free wifi and charging available. Regarding the food - we love it. We've tried almost everything on the menu, from the quiches to the smoothie bowls, and it's all enjoyable. If you choose to dine in, they present the food pretty well too. The coffee is pretty good and the acai bowls are amazing. We love how they mix up their sandwich/soup/bakery items selections daily. The pastries are all homemade and delicious (especially the pistachio or french toast muffins *heart eyes*). There's always a chance to try something new. This spot is definitely the go-to as I spend way too much money here. Some items can seem a bit overpriced, but it's worth the taste and service. I always stop in when I'm visiting my parents in Pennsylvania. I was so pleasantly surprised when I went to Zummo's this morning before yoga to find that the register was closed and the coffee, pastries, and parfaits were free from 8-10am in honor of Thanksgiving. Zummo's, thank you for my coffee. My husband thanks you for his bacon and cheese scone. And my yoga instructor thanks you for the parfait. Very cute hipster joint dropped in the middle of a residential neighborhood and plenty of parking on the weekends (you can use the school parking lot across the street). And you're gonna need it - no quick putting your flashers on to get in and out of here during their peak coffee hour - the crowd was practically lined up out the door. This must be one of the rare places to grab some good joe in the area. We went on a Sunday around 11, for reference. Despite the very long wait for two beverages, I took a seat in the adorable bay window and leafed through the artsy magazines, torn on whether or not to keep my mask on. I finally gave up and opted for off once my refreshing peach iced tea was ready so I could sip it comfortably and people-watch. My cousin was not so lucky, since by the time her iced lavender latte was ready, we had to book it out the door to make our table at Henry's on Clay a short drive away. They have a ton of different coffees and teas and lattes and espressos, and a variety of flavors, as well. Not to mention a decent selection of breakfasty/lunchy grab n' go items like salads and fruits and pastries. Honestly the interior of the building is so cute and settle. not too overwhelming when I walked in for the first time. The building is big enough to where a lot of people can be seated and it's a very opened area. Lots of windows and some plants here. I would say though it's kinda cold when to sit down, so bring a jacket!! I got the french toast with a muffin with a iced mocha latte and it was REALLY good. highly recommend. The coffee is not too sweet but not too bland. just right! I like how the cafe has small business items being sold around here which is so cute! there is also a section of Zummo's merchandise which is also very cute. The service was very well done. We stopped here for a quick breakfast on our way to Toronto. It was quite early in the morning, as such most places were closed. I saw that we were about to drive pass Scranton, so did a quick Yelp search for anything that was open. I was surprised to see that how highly rated this place was. We found a parking spot right in front of the cafe, and walked into this super charming cafe. The menu was fairly simple, aside from a handful of baked goods, they had two wraps and two quiches to choose from that morning. We picked a bacon quiche and chicken wrap. Both were very good and exactly what we needed for a long drive ahead. They had an extensive selection of coffee, as well as tea. I loved the unsweetened iced tea. We were in a bit of hurry, and sat in the front section of the cafe. I didn't realize Zummo had a large space in the back with inviting sofas and comfortable chairs until we were about to head out. I would've love this to be my neighborhood cafe, it seems like a great place to grab a bite, have a coffee and read on a lazy day. It was a quiet morning, but they had four baristas behind the counter, so we received both our drinks and food extremely fast. I was disappointed by the preparation of the food here. We ordered two quiches and I asked to make sure they would be heated through, which the employee told me they would. When they came out they were room temperature but it wasn't worth going back up to request they be heated again. We also ordered a cheese Danish which ended up looking nothing like a Danish at all. It was a round, fully enclosed roll with no visible filling. We sliced it open thinking there would at least be filling inside but there wasn't. We went back up to make sure this was a "danish" since it had literally nothing in common with one, and we were assured it was. When we questioned why there was no filling a staff person said maybe it got incorporated into the dough and disappeared. No offer to get us another one with filling or a different pastry. Just an excuse for why our pastry wasn't as good as it was supposed to be. Frankly really surprised based on the good reviews. Wouldn't come back. read more

If you are trying to complete schoolwork or study, even if you bring headphones and play music at full volume, do not go here unless you love loud noises. You will still be able to hear the extremely loud blenders and people talking on the phone through your headphones or earbuds. Also, the music is loud and there was some D-bag sitting next to me talking loudly on the phone about his relationship and the staff did nothing to tell this person that he's obnoxiously loud or to take his phone call outside. My Americano was okay, but not any better than your average coffee shop. I'd recommend Grateful Roast Coffee Company in Clarks Summit over this place. Staff always seems in a rush to get you away from the register, they have a rewards system and I never even get to earn points because they're hurrying me away from the register. read more
