This spot is a favorite of my family and they insisted I tried it! Not disappointed one bit! THE FOOD -I opted for a baked good (muffin) and it was so delicious. I've also tried cookies my family has brought home and all have been tasty! -I haven't had their regular food but pictured is the avocado toast that my family liked! THE DRINKS -lots of options! I can't say enough good things about Kays! Their coffee is delicious and their sweet treats are so good too!! Today, I had a cappuccino and a pink Valentine's Day cookie and OMG the cookie was absolutely amazing. We are from NY and come to PA a few times a year and Kays is a must stop for me. It's one of my favorite parts of coming to PA! The staff are always friendly. The drive through is convenient but sometimes packed (because they are so great!!). Highly recommend this cute and delicious coffee shop with baked treats and food. While I didn't get to sample the food my family had a small variety of drinks with coffee and some flavored smoothie type drinks. It was all excellent. The cookies and brownie were equally good. If you are driving anywhere along I380 make sure you make the very short trip to visit and sample their goods. Not only will you be happy with the taste but you'll be happy with the price as well. Fortunately, unlike some chains we won't mention, they aren't trying to rip you off. The prices seemed reasonable. My only criticism would have been for them to post their prices as I had to ask on some of the items we purchased. Pay them a visit and enjoy!! read more

Stopped here on the Saturday after Thanksgiving for a quick snack and something to warm up. Our group had everything from scones and muffins to sandwiches. Made a pitstop here on my way from NJ to Scranton based on the reviews and Kay's did not disappoint!! They serve a variety of pastries including some gluten free options. My husband said his vanilla latte was REALLY good. I enjoyed my London Fog as well. Very tasty . There are tables as well as a couch in front of a fireplace. Clean bathrooms. Definitely worth the stop. read more

Truly an excellent coffee and sandwich shop to get away from, as the name states, the "Daily Grind". The staff is exceptionally courteous and knowledgeable of the entire menu. Love the nacho average breakfast, it's my go-to whenever I go. The coffee flavors are fun, I've only tried a few but I usually go with the classics like caramel. They have pumpkin spice year round and I believe a butter beer flavor. Their soup of the day and the nacho average breakfast sandwich and a coffee are a good breakfast/lunch combo. The mac and cheese is good too. I usually get these few items but they're consistently good. Service is very friendly. Always look forward to stopping by Kay's whenever I'm in the area read more

Fair pricing and great coffee! I have been coming here for the mornings to grab an iced coffee and they never disappoint. The service is so nice and fast. The pricing is definitely cheaper than a lot of other places as well as the quality is pretty decent, but overall a great little cafe to come stop by and grab a quick drink! read more

By far the best chicken salad sandwich in the area. Its definitely a busy place. Lines can be long, however, its worth the time. Recommend the chicken salad sandwich, the piña colada smoothie, and the chocolate chip cookie. read more

For yummy coffee and breakfast, Kay's certainly does not disappoint! Whenever in the area, I frequently visit this coffee shop for their delicious caffeineted beverages and breakfast sammies. I've only ever done drive through- either way the service is great. Associates are always incredibly friendly and helpful, and the sandwiches are definitely a steal (try "The Morning Grind " breakfast sandwich!!) For the price, you really can't beat it. Love that this coffee shop is a small business and has an awesome menu as well! All staff wear masks and there's even a hand sanitizer dispenser at the drive thru window for yournl convenience! read more

I use to love Kay's but was recently disappointed that the veggie quiche is smaller in size and is more money. They have also been burning them the last couple times I've gone there. I'll still being going Kay's, but I'll be trying other food choices. I hope they can fix these things. read more

Me and my wife lived in Gouldsboro for a few months and discovered this place while there. I wish It was closer to the Pocono area because it's such a great place. Coffee is delicious with so many flavors and the food is super good. I go between the soups and the chicken salad capris. The Mac is also unbelievable if it's close to lunch! 5/5 read more

Absolutely phenomenal coffee shop. One of my favorites! I've had hot Irish cream macchiato and an iced white chocolate macchiato. Both were yummy and gave me a good shot of energy! Not too sweet, the milk and flavoring didn't overpower the espresso. We also tried the sausage breakfast sandwich and the special crispy chicken wrap (with pretzel crusted chicken!) and they were delicious. The breakfast sandwich was served on an English muffin and the sausage and cheese flavors were both present and awesome. The crispy chicken wrap also had lots of flavor (not just like ranch like some wraps end up). This is an awesome community place. When I visited there were families with small children, women working on their laptops, and group of teens/young adults. read more

I love Kay's daily grind. It is a much higher quality breakfast and coffee spot in town as opposed to your typical chain franchise. All of the food is made fresh when you order. The cold brew coffee is great. Additionally they make good sandwiches if you want to pop in for lunch. read more

A cool atmosphere and lots of tasty food. I got a breakfast sandwich which could have used some salt and pepper, but not a huge deal since that's an easy fix. I was able to get it on an everything bagel which can be hard to come by in Scranton. Also got a cranberry scone which was delicious. They had a really good-looking selection of baked goods and quiches that I'd like to try. For about $15 I got two breakfast sandwiches and a scone, which I thought was a decent deal. Only complaint was that I brought a coupon for free hash browns, which the cashier took and put in an order for, but when I got home, there were no hash browns. That was a pretty massive bummer. Visited Kay's and it looked basic on the outside but turned out to be super cute inside. Had a whole lot of goodies to enjoy! Had a blueberry muffin, pumpkin latte and a bacon egg & cheese on a bagel. The breakfast sandwich was delicious and filling! Definitely recommend! read more

She asked for bacon instead and for homefries with the peppers and onions. The order she got was a western omlette with ham and a hash brown. She called 3 times before someone picked up at this point it's now 2:35pm. She explained to the woman what occurred. The woman then told her yeah we ran out of bacon this weekend so we gave you ham. My sister said I understand you ran out of bacon but I was given an order that I didn't ask for. My sister does not eat ham, and cannot eat this meal she was given. The employee then tells her "well like I said we ran out of bacon so there's nothing I can do for you" with attitude. So my sister told her "the order should've never been given to me to begin with. If there was an issue with missing ingredients then I should've been informed." A restaurant does not have the right to create what ever meal seems fit and then charge the client. If you're paid for a service, your job is to fulfill that service, not wing it and make executive decisions at someone's expense. The employee should have told person picking up the meal that there was no bacon and then they could decide whether they wanted the meal with ham, wanted to order something else, or cancel. Being that the order was placed over the phone the duty of the restaurant was to call my sister back and give notice of the situation, with solutions or different options. My sister then told the woman this was paid with a card and she would like a refund being that this was their error and no one ia going to eat the meal. The employee had the audacity to say no. They're closed. How are you closed and picking up the phone at the restaurant? Actually, how are you closed at 2:37 when your hours are to 3pm. If you can answer calls, take people's money, then you can process a refund. My sister then asked if she could at least have her name written down so management can either have the meal remade tomorrow the way it was requested or refunded. My sister was doing the job of the rude employee and was trying to look for reasonable solutions. The employee said " I mean I don't even know if they'll have bacon tomorrow like I said we ran out". My sister told her she doesn't care if there's no bacon, just a refund. My sister didn't receive the western omlette with bacon nor did she receive the home fries. She was given an entirely different order. The employee once again with an attitude said " I don't know, come tomorrow and maybe someone can help you." My sister then told her "no there's no maybe's, you can't just decide to give a customer whatever you want because you ran out of ingredients and say yeah I cant help you, or maybe someone will." The female employee then hung up the phone on my sister. This is very poor customer service and I'm highly disappointed with how they handled the matter. Management needs to train their staff on professionalism and accountability. Order accuracy is a BASIC STANDARD. Refusal to fix the mistake shows a LACK of respect for the customer's time and money and hanging up is RUDE. A business that cannot handle situations with honesty and integrity doesn't deserve to have a business or customer loyalty.

However, the store always seems to run out of certain cigarettes and large fountain soda cups or lids. It seems that whoever does the ordering never orders enough. It's a very convenient place to get things locally in a hurry. They have plenty of fuel pumps including gas, diesel and off road diesel/home heating oil. They also have a scale for truckers.

I ordered the breakfast special and was only able to eat half of it and took the other half home. The coffee mugs were so good that we bought one. They are large mugs, only needing to be refilled once. The ambience is casual and they have the old-fashioned placemats with the local businesses on them. You don't see that much anymore. My only complaint was the hashbrowns which were in edible due to the large amount of grease on them.

We came specifically to try their pizza but we also picked up some cookies. In addition to everything else, they have an ice cream parlor in the cafe as well. Unfortunately, as good as the pizza looked when it was in the box, it was a big flop. The crust was actually airy somewhat thick. Almost bread like. The sauce was WAY to sweet although the toppings were good. After one slice each, my wife cranked up our oven with a pizza stone in it to 500° and put the rest of the pizza in there for a few minutes which made it somewhat edible. The cookies we got were pretty good I'm looking forward to some of their other baked goods. I definitely won't be back for pizza.

The cheese was a little melty which I liked. The pesto was a little aggressive (which is a curious thing for me to say because I absolutely love pesto). It had an oddly aggressive flavor and there were chunks of nuts in it - larger chunks than I would expect from a pesto sauce. My dad got the bbq chicken sandwich, which was just chicken and bread. I think he would have liked some lettuce and tomato on it. All in all this is a decent lunch spot for a very reasonable rate.
