Two words: Breakfast Sandwich! Cafe Duet is a great little spot tucked away by the Monroe County Courthouse. They have great coffee, pastries, small bites, and lunch options. The breakfast sandwich is phenomenal! As their menu states, it consists of "two organic eggs, split and grilled Spanish chorizo, sharp cheddar cheese and baby arugula on a fresh baked roll w/ a touch of sriracha mayo." The eggs are cooked perfectly! The contrast of the cheddar against the chorizo and sriracha mayo is wonderful and the peppery arugula comes through at the end. I would eat one every morning if my wallet/waist could afford it! The cafe is both large and small (you'll really only understand if you go) but I never have an issue finding somewhere to sit. In the warmer months, it's really nice to sit outside in their patio area. The staff is always accommodating and the place is well kept. Sometimes you wait a bit for things but it's never super long and they are pretty good at keeping you in the loop if there's an issue. Definitely a great spot worth checking out! read more

Cafe Duet is a quaint coffee shop in the Pocono area that serves up a great cup of mocha latte and americano. My hot mocha latte (oatmilk, half decaf) was made perfectly. The coffee to milk ratio was good and the chocolate flabor was not too overpowering- it still tasted like a latte and not hot chocolate. It wasn't watered down, and was still rich and creamy. The americano was a good cup- straight to the point and robust. We also had the banana nut bread and the pistachio-cranberry-white mocha chip biscotti. Both pastries were pretty good. Some tables had ordered hot food like waffles and soups, which looked pretty good and we might try this place out for a snack or breakfast in the future. Interior is pretty with plants, a record player playing jazz, and clean tables and chairs. Service is friendly, interior is old world charm, coffee and pastries are great. My wife and I were most of the way home after driving across Pennsylvania. I needed a stop for some coffee and a snack. Cafe Duet is located in a cool downtown area and its vibe is excellent! Clean and modern, with lots of cool seating options. Gentleman behind the counter was friendly. I went with a cold brew, broccoli rabe and mozzarella served over arugula and my wife had a chai latte and a hummus sandwich. Café Duet is such a gem! We stopped in on a Sunday morning and spent $33.66 (including tip) on a really memorable breakfast. There are a few tables out front, some indoor seating, and a hidden garden patio in the back that makes it feel like a secret hangout spot. The vibe is funky, cozy, and very "local favorite." The staff were super friendly, which made the experience even better. The food was fantastic! The muffin was moist, flavorful, and big enough to split. The breakfast sandwich was perfectly portioned for two, with that warm, lightly toasted roll stealing the show alongside the chorizo and sharp cheddar. The chocolate milk was rich and perfectly chocolaty, and the cashew cheese spread was salty, nutty, and delicious on crackers. We sat outside on the sidewalk café tables and watched the town slowly wake up around us. Between the great food, the welcoming atmosphere, and the little details that make it special, it's easy to see why locals recommend Café Duet as a "must try." It's been over 6 years since I have been here!?! Well, I am glad it is just as great as I remembered. A noted change, order at the register and then sit at an available seat. This place made my group feel very unwelcome. I was speaking with the owner BETSY over a month in advance telling her I would bring a party of 14 people for a birthday party. We arrive at 10:15 AM to set up the birthday table, and everyone arrived by 11AM. We did not recieve any menus or any waitress to take our order, but we ordered coffee in the front of the cafe. Everything was fine until Betsy told us "you are our biggest table here and you still haven't spent a dollar". Mind you, this was at about 10:45, and we did order coffee but were waiting for the birthday girl to arrive to her surprise birthday. We finished and left everything clean on the table by 12pm, not even over an hour because our guests truly felt unwelcome and rushed. The cafe wasn't busy, so I wasn't sure why she was so bothered by us, knowing I told her over a month ago that we would be coming. We were respectful, we weren't rowdy .. we didn't want to be more of an inconvenience than we already felt from her. We were sitting outside in the patio and cold, nobody else was outside either just our party. She also said we weren't allowed to have the birthday cake we brought, when she never told me this in the emails at all. It was really unprofessional, the baristas and servers are great but THE OWNER is extremely disrespectful and regret bringing all of my friends to a cafe whose owner is so rude to its customers. Especially it being a big party, you would think we would be given some type of attention. Overall, dissatisfied by everything, the food and the respect. Lastly, she emailed me after I spoke to her respectfully telling me "Good Luck with life". This is without question the best coffee shop in the Stroudsburg area. Nice selection of coffees and teas, good food menu, good pastries and such, and a really beautiful shop with beautiful courtyard seating. I like the bohemian but elegant vibe. The location is prime. The people are nice. I can't say enough good things about this shop. If there is any criticism that I can find it is that the type of hot chocolate that they serve isn't the best. The seating space indoors looks like it is not much, but if you keep walking you see there is more and there is a really cute large space outside with picnic tables and two tops. I had many orders here over the wk I spent at the next door hotel. A coworker told me about the cafe and I was delighted to know that it was just steps away from my hotel. All my orders were take-away, order online for easy pick up. My intention was to try all the sandwiches but I ended up sticking to just a few. 1- Mushroom and cheese sandwich. The croissant was really buttery. I went light on the cheese but this was a mouth pleaser. 2- Egg Sandwich- I am not an egg sandwich kinda gal usually, but I decided to try this and I prob ordered it 3-4x more times overall. I ordered a latte along with several brunch menu items and baked goods. I tried the baked eggs and Mushroom Gruyère croissant sandwich there and brought the rest home. My husband and I (and some of my husband's coworkers) finished the remaining items over the next couple days. Everything was excellent. And so many delicious vegetarian options! I can see why this cute little cafe has such a solid rating. It is everything you want in a space to relax and have a long talk with a friend. The menu has appetizing savory, sweet, and drink choices. The garden ambience is peaceful, pretty, and slightly whimsical. Seats and tables are spread out effectively and naturally with the flow of plant life in the back patio. As for the food, the touted mushroom and gruyere croissant did not disappoint. Hubs had the Cafe Duet belgian waffle, which came with bananas, oats, yogurt, and honey butter-- he said it was the bomb. A couple weeks ago, BF and I had plans to spend a long weekend hiking in VA, but terrible weather prompted a last minute swap to spend the time in the Poconos, and I worried that I wouldn't be able to find food I was excited about in Stroudsburg, PA. Turns out I completely underestimated, because Cafe Duet was just a few steps away from my downtown Stroudsburg hotel and it was delicious! Cafe Duet opened at 8 AM and we were able to submit our order online a few minutes before they opened. I received a text message when our food was ready a few minutes after 8:00. When we reached the cafe, there were a few people socially distanced in line ahead of us, so we joined the line. However, after a couple of minutes, a masked woman emerged from a side door, called my name, and handed me our completed order. They had a few outdoor tables on the sidewalk, but we opted to take it back to our hotel room. Both our orders were adorably wrapped with stamped paper and tied off with string. BF ordered the avocado toast, which he said was "so-so," but doesn't have a particular reason for saying that --- the bite I had was yummy, with a large, thick piece of bread, substantial avocado, and macadamia nuts on top. The star of the visit, however, was the Smoked Gruyere and Roasted Mushroom sandwich on a croissant which may be one of my all-time favorite breakfast sandwiches. The croissant was flaky, buttery, and perfectly baked, and the flavors of the mushroom and gruyere combined to a beautiful symphony in my mouth. I added an egg when prompted by the ordering app, but honestly, it didn't need it --- the sandwich was substantial and delicious enough on its own, and I look forward to any excuse to return to eat it again. They offer a variety of coffees and tea; I did try their iced tropical green tea, which was lovely. read more

I found my fave place in Stroudsburg yet! Even though their back yard made me wet* Sammi bolted away But their Chef saved the day So three cheers for the Cafe Duet! *not in a good way yo What a delightful little place! And they had a garden out back for dogs and even though it was raining cats and dogs I made the stupid decision to take my beautiful little Sammi girl on her first morning outside New York City as a tiny baby into the Dog Garden to eat with me. Up to this point she had been very Delta Airline chill (I'm not sure what Delta Airline Chill is, my voice dictation made it up, I meant to say Docile And Chill but I like the VD version better) and had not tried to run away. Ew, I wonder if Delta Airlines serves Chili. I bet Delta Airline Chili sucks. But I guess the excitement of being outside was a little bit too much for her. So she went a little psycho on me and decided to run away. She heard a loud noise and bolted into the bushes and was gone. This was very traumatic for me as I had thought I was taking good care of her but all it took was a loud noise from one of the neighbouring houses or businesses and she bolted off the bench where she had been chilling out right next to me, with my hand on her, and disappeared into the woods. I thought I would never see my little Sammi again. I thought I had f***ed up so bad. I was so angry with myself. I felt like the worst Daddy in the world. I was trying not to cry (shut up). I was probably never going to forgive myself. And then after that half an hour of searching the chef from the cafe came to join me in the search. He abandoned his post and let the orders pile up (I'm not even kidding) and decided to help me look. There were lots of waitresses but I guess they didn't want to get wet. The chef dude though? He was like f*** it let's find her, and he came out and helped me. And he is the one that found my perfect Sammi hiding in the corner of the tall grass in the backyard at Cafe Duet. I swear she hadn't been there before because I had checked. She was nowhere on the property. And he found her. So Barbie, Sammi, Boba, Harley, Lychee, Mochi and I owe the chef here everything. I gave him a nice handsome tip to say thank you. We're talking a big juicy $10 bill. I will never forget his generosity with his time and effort. As for the sandwich itself I liked it and it wasn't bad and I saved half of it for my landlord that prefers this kind of thing to me. Literally. Honestly if it wasn't for the wonderful cat experience and how amazing the chef was I'm not sure if it would have been a 4 or 5, and I didn't get to try it hot, but as it stands he earned a five-star and then some so thank you very much for saving the day my friend.
