Quiet, quaint place with interesting little knock knacks for sale. We went to grab a bite to go but was very underwhelmed with the food. The service was great and quick; albeit they didn't provide any utensils which was weird but I guess I should have asked for them? The bacon egg and cheese on a Kaiser roll 7/10 was average. Chocolate chip pancakes were the best of the meal 8/10. Don't get their omelettes - bacon and ham omelette was basically a flat egg scramble with bits of bacon and ham... 1/10 we just threw it out...

The Monte Cristo Breakfast Sandwich

Stopped in here for brunch on a recent trip back home to Michigan from New York. It was a little off the beaten path, but in a sweet small town I'd love to go back to and explore. I ordered the Monte Cristo with potato cakes, and my friend ordered "The Vermont," a breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese. We were only able to eat half of our meals, they were so big! The restaurant's vibe was cool and cozy with vintage flair and lots of artwork on the walls, some available for purchase. After our brunch, we snagged a few treats from the bakery counter and I was able to purchase some locally-made coffee and honey. The Buckeye Bar was delightful, but I highly recommend the Millionare Shortbread Bar. It was unbelievably rich and tasty! (I should have bought them all!) Service was prompt and we only waited a few minutes to be served after ordering. The friendly staff, sweet home-town atmosphere, yummy food, and out-of-this-world desserts will bring me back, no questions asked! If you're visiting the Poconos area in PA, or just passing through, I advise you to make a stop at Fork Street Bistro & Bakery!!

We got in and there was no wait to sit down. The waitress came over in under 5 minutes. The pumpkin iced latte was sooo delicious! We even got another one to go. My boyfriend got a platter, the pancakes had a buttery yummy pancakes with syrup. The sausage tasted fresh. The tomato basil soup was great as well! The burger was average, lacked seasoning but the fries were crispy and salty! I would definitely try this is you are in town! Friendly staff as well and they were working hard!

This place is classic and authentic. You can tell the food is fresh and the service is efficient. Absolutely delicious

Avocado toast special and Florentine omelet with potatoes and bacon

Updated review. A little disappointed today, which is surprising because I love Fork Street. My husband loved the avocado toast breakfast special, but my order was only meh. The florentine omelet was bland and very watery, and the wheat toast I got ordered was pale and soft and not really toasted at all. Then our server gave us someone else's check, which would have been a bargain for us, but the other folks would have been really pissed. I'll go back because usually this place is great, but it was definitely an off day

When I Yelp-searched "coffee" from our vacation rental, "Fork Street Bistro and Bakery" was the Number 1 search result. Their Yelp business categories include "Cafes", "Breakfast and Brunch" and "Bakeries". Fork Street has a 5 Star Rating in Yelp. Although the Fork Street crew was pleasant and the food that we ordered was generally good, I don't agree with the 5 Star rating. When a business has a 5 Star Yelp rating as a bakery and cafe and has a sign outside advertising coffee, I have certain expectations about the general nature of things that should be available. There should be a decent selection of things such as muffins, cookies, Danish, croissants, scones, pastries, etc. Especially in the Summer, there should be some sort of black cold brew or iced coffee option. We arrived around 8 am on a Sunday to get baked goods and/or other items for breakfast and a black iced coffee or cold brew. I quickly saw that there were very few breakfast-y baked goods in the case. Just crumb cake, one muffin and zucchini bread. I asked for the muffin and was told that it was spoken for. So there were only two choices. If Bakery is in your business name, you have to do a lot better than that, especially on a Sunday morning. I have never seen a bakery with fewer options early on Sunday morning. I asked about cold coffee options and I was told that they had Cold Brew. I ordered one. I waited for it to come out for a few minutes. The person helping me then conferred with another worker. She returned and told me that they only had DECAF cold brew. At 8 am on a Sunday. A cafe has to be more organized than that. Long story short, we ordered (1) a sausage, egg and cheese on a Kaiser roll, (2) a BEC on a bagel, (3) a wrap with mushrooms, Swiss and spinach, (4) a piece of crumb cake, (5) a piece of zucchini bread and (6) an Iced Banana Fosters Latte. As I said at the outset, the food was generally good. If you're just looking for these sorts of things, I think you'd be satisfied. But if you are looking for a bakery or reliable place for black cold coffee, based on my experience, I think you should look elsewhere. Three Stars

I am staying in the area and wanted to go somewhere good for breakfast. Fork Street came up in my search and had good reviews. My husband and I gave it a try and it was just ok. I ordered egg whites, turkey bacon, and what they call like a hash round or circle. Turkey bacon and egg whites are pretty basic so no qualms there but the hash round was very dry and had no flavor. My husband ordered scrambled eggs with cheese and the Fork Street French Toast it wasn't very flavorful either. The service was a little slow but our server was very nice. I was really expecting more from here, it was just an ok breakfast. On the other hand the place was very cute with the decor and they had a little sitting area where you could wait and had little toys for kids. They also had baked items for purchase as well as local honey.

Great cute spot to get breakfast! Home fries were delicious and the French toast was so flavorful! I tried the cheese steak breakfast wrap which was really good too~

Cozy breakfast restaurant with ample seating and parking. Food was fresh and perfect size for one person. Not really for sharing. The girl at the front was very polite. Two very large wheelchair accessible bathrooms with changing tables!

A lovely bistro and bakery. We ordered the Jersey breakfast sandwich and florentine omelette. Both were delicious.

The food as very good. The Chicken Cranberry Croissant (toasted croissant with pulled chicken and cranberry salad with arugula salad) was our favorite. I've come back while driving through just for that chicken sandwich. Unfortunately we were traveling with it and I asked them to separate all the items for us and they did not. Would have been nice to reconstruct it ourselves and not have a soggy sandwich when we got to our destination. Much better to eat immediately so make sure you do that. I would have to say space is limited and the placement of the furniture makes it hard to dine in. It was very interesting because there were parties smaller than us and they all seemed cramped as well. We sat at the corner table right when you walk in on the left, we all had to sit on the bench because the circular table in the middle of the space blocked us from sitting on the other side of our table. It was very awkward because it was hard for our party to get out and the other table was full and wasn't being helpful by scooching a bit haha. I would recommend the food here but only if you're in a small party and looking for a quick bite.

Two words: Breakfast Sandwich!…read more Cafe Duet is a great little spot tucked away by the Monroe County Courthouse. They have great coffee, pastries, small bites, and lunch options. The breakfast sandwich is phenomenal! As their menu states, it consists of "two organic eggs, split and grilled Spanish chorizo, sharp cheddar cheese and baby arugula on a fresh baked roll w/ a touch of sriracha mayo." The eggs are cooked perfectly! The contrast of the cheddar against the chorizo and sriracha mayo is wonderful and the peppery arugula comes through at the end. I would eat one every morning if my wallet/waist could afford it! The cafe is both large and small (you'll really only understand if you go) but I never have an issue finding somewhere to sit. In the warmer months, it's really nice to sit outside in their patio area. The staff is always accommodating and the place is well kept. Sometimes you wait a bit for things but it's never super long and they are pretty good at keeping you in the loop if there's an issue. Definitely a great spot worth checking out!

The coffee to milk ratio was good and the chocolate flabor was not too overpowering- it still tasted like a latte and not hot chocolate. It wasn't watered down, and was still rich and creamy. The americano was a good cup- straight to the point and robust. We also had the banana nut bread and the pistachio-cranberry-white mocha chip biscotti. Both pastries were pretty good. Some tables had ordered hot food like waffles and soups, which looked pretty good and we might try this place out for a snack or breakfast in the future. Interior is pretty with plants, a record player playing jazz, and clean tables and chairs. Service is friendly, interior is old world charm, coffee and pastries are great. Public parking, ccs, Apple Pay. Public metered parking. Would recommend!

My black iced coffee was good, and served quickly even though there were a lot of people there. They also sell beans from multiple roasters. Mostly blends. I was always talk about the shock and awe of a spot's baked goods case. I was shocked and awed. They had gigantic, amazing looking scones. I bought one that I'm saving for my family. Although the front room was full when I walked in, it turns out they have a large back room as well. Lots of seating. Wood floors. They also have cool outside seating. I was impressed by Zummo's, and also the closeness of the Scranton community. Lots of people walking together outside. Gathering over coffee. Saying Hi to people.
