I reviewed this place a couple years ago when we stumbled upon it. We liked it so much we went back twice during our stay. This trip, we saw it again on nearby eats. Had to come back! Just as I remember. Best Chipped beef I've ever had. It's not bland like everywhere else. It's absolutely phenomenal. Staff is as friendly as I remember, just an absolute great place to eat. And it's a really nice place! Comfortable and priced great! When we're in town again I will absolutely be returning again! read more

Great food great service great prices. 10/10 would recommend. Very cute mom n pop spot.

After a long snowy morning the Better Half and I stopped here for a late breakfast. First off, great job being open on Monday, nothing else nearby was. Ambience is pretty typical but the service was fantastic and very knowledgeable about gluten sensitivity and food allergies. Better Half said the GF bread is very good. She had the pulled pork melt on GF bread and I had the Italian Chicken melt. Both were very flavorful and piping hot. Their food is made fresh and it really shows. Overall, great experience with friendly intelligent service and fresh, good food. I'd definitely go again if I find myself up there. read more

Takeout was crab corn soup and a turkey melt on rye. Both were great and the place is clean and bright. Not a long wait for ordering at lunch time. read more

First Place was down the road from a wedding venue my fiancé and I had just left. We got there around 9:30 am on Sunday and were seated right away. There's extra seating down the stairs to the left, fyi. My fiancé had eggs, potatoes and sausage while I had the Western on a roll. Both of our meals were frieken delicious. The coffee was very good and last but not least, you get a great value for your money. I would definitely go back and appreciated the opportunity to check it out! read more

Fabulous!!! Beyond 2 thumbs up!! Fantastic food. Impeccable clean cafe. Recommend to the world. Desserts to die for!!

Very well managed and professional. Clean and organized which seems to be rare up there in the sticks. All the breakfast foods were cooked perfectly and our hash browns were crispy and golden brown and delicious. All and all earned the 5 stars - good job! HH read more

The food is always good, and the owners are great very friendly and attentive. The decor is simple and very well done.

Well I must say I was impressed. I was not sure what to expect but it had great reviews so I had to give it a try. This restaurant is such a great mom n pop shop. The staff was so friendly and attentive as well. The town doesn't have too many restaurants in this area so we were really glad we found this place...we went 2 days in a row, so long story short we enjoyed it. They have a very simple breakfast and lunch menu. When you arrive you order at the front and then find your seat wherever you wish. The place is small but cozy. The food comes out pretty quickly. The things we tried were all really good. Pancakes, omelettes, biscuits and gravy. It was the perfect home cooking style. I want to come try their lunch next time. read more

My son and i found this place when we took a trip to PA to go ziplining at the skytop Lodge. On the way there we stop by grab 2 breakfast sandwiches and we took the menu as well, I've got the the campsite and I was delighted by the sandwiches. I've told my son that we have to review the menu and maybe we can stop by on the way home and we did. We headed home around 2:30 pm and I've told my kid, we need to try some other items. AGAIN. We were amazed by buffalo wings, the chicken parm sandwich and the sirracha burger. Omg such a small place with amazing food, the owner Josh was very very nice to us.. If you ever around the area, stop by and you won't be disappointed. Love this place read more

We were on a weekend vacation from Philadelphia and looking for an easy place for lunch and were so happy we found this gem. Don't let the simplistic decor fool you, the food here is really great and well priced. I got the Turkey Rachel - crisp, gooey cheese, grilled perfectly. My husband got the Grilled Chicken Melt - bread was excellent and chicken was moist. We were actually a bit surprised at how good the food was not to mention how nice the staff was. Although we didn't need it for our visit, they have a grocery area if you want to pick up some simple camping foods which is a nice add on. The only downside...for being a cafe the coffee was subpar. But overall - a 5 star experience! read more

Family run cafe with great food and great service! I always try and pay with cash to support a great business!

Checked out this place while staying in Barrett township. Adorable little cafe. Workers were friendly, we were greeted upon entering the store. They had a chalkboard of specials. I got a egg sandwich and home fries and my boyfriend had a hamburger and fries. Both were amazing. You can tell they make it all fresh. The prices were very affordable. We sat inside and ate and it was very clean and bright. They have a small coffee bar and some beverages in the cooler. They had homemade desserts too! Try and bring cash as it is a small business. Highly recommend. The reviews are spot on! read more

What a perfect little lunch place! We were on our way to a zip-lining adventure at Skytop lodge and wanted to grab a bite to eat beforehand. I realized why this is called First Place as we drove for miles without many food options on 390. This was the "first place" we came upon. So glad we stopped. Everything was homemade and really interesting menu items. I highly recommend the Chipotle Pork melt. It was a sophisticated melding of flavors. Such a great surprise for lunch. If we are ever in the area again, we would make a point to stop. read more

What a great place to stop off at during a lunch break at a conference at Skytop Lodge. I'd definitely recommend checking out the many options that First Place Cafe has to offer on their menu for travelers, couples and families alike. I enjoyed the buffalo chicken cheese steak and my wife had the chicken cheese steak. Both sandwiches were cooked exactly the way we ordered them and we shared a basket of freshly cut homemade french fries! We'd definitely be back. read more

Great soups daily and even better specials and desserts. Upscale favorites with the friendliest staff. Love love love

Wonderful home made food at a cute family owned cafe in the middle of the poconos. I felt like I was getting food from mom's kitchen! We came after the zip lining treetop adventure nearby and our tour guide recommended this place when I asked for a casual place to get food before heading home. They have a big board of items to order - and some pre packaged items including home made soups. We had a fabulous burger and potato salad, and my son had chicken rice soup he loved ... We also brought home wonderful chili and home made apple pie which were fantastic ! read more

A solid place for breakfast and lunch. Jeff and his wife are always working hard to give you from scratch delicious and tasty fare. Not sure they're first, but they're up there. Service matters to them, clearly. I ate ther and enjoyed my food.

It's a cafe, like about 19,000 other cafes in these here United States. Comfort food, friendly service. Not sure why it's got so many 5 star ratings though; to me, 5 stars is a destination restaurant worth a trip just to go there, like say La Grenouille in Manhattan or Commander's Palace in New Orleans. All about your frame of reference, I guess read more
