3 Breakfast Tacos
Daniella S.

What a fabulous find after a long sunrise hike! We all were starving and got quite a taste. We started with cinnamon home made coffee. So good and warming. We then shared a specials pancake the cinnamon bun pancake. AMAZING! The waitresss made great recommendations. We then all got another dish. The breakfast tacos were just wow. So delicous and full of flavor. We also had a breakfast burger which was huge and delicious. Then we had an avacado toast, so fresh and perfect. And I also got the breakfast omelet with goat cheese. Also delicous and a healthy option. On our way out we got a chocolate chip cookie for the road. I regret not getting more lol. All delicous and it's a great small vibe place we'll def come back to!

Unassuming exterior

Stopped in on a holiday weekend and we weren't disappointed. The place was full but we only waited about 10 min for a table. They don't have an obvious waiting area so we sat back in the car. I noticed they have a small area in the back by the restrooms that could be good for waiting if you don't have a car or don't want to wait outside. Coffee was good and plentiful. The breakfast sandwich was rich and had a great kick of spicy ketchup. It could have used a side like some potatoes or a small salad or something but it was less than $8 so I'm not complaining. The owners were kind even though they were very busy. We will definitely be back!

Breakfast Burger

This place is an absolute gem! The food is always really tasty. The owners & the staff are so nice and they know how to make you feel at home. They also source ingredients locally! The past few times I've gone, I've gotten their breakfast burger. It is hands down the BEST breakfast burger in the area. They also have some fun specials they rotate in. The last one my wife got was the cannoli pancake special. The pancakes looked gorgeous and tasted awesome! Their coffee is also really good here. I'm a big fan of their cinnamon roast. Flavors will rotate. If you're in the area, this small little cafe is well worth the visit!

Baked French Toast with a side of fruit

WHY IS THIS PLACE NOT CLOSER TO ME??!!! Well I guess it is a good thing because I would be HUGE! This is another place that sits in a shopping center and you wouldn't think it's AMAZING, but HELLO it is. Oh and get here quick because once they run out of breakfast food they move on to the lunch menu! Walk on in and you will be greeted with amazing aromas, and a greeting as well. It's a very small location and can not hold big parties since they only have two tables that I believe can accommodate 4. The rest are 2 seaters. It's a very cute space. The menu is spectacular. I didn't order anything that I didn't love. Their pancakes are bigger than your face, they have French toast casserole that is basically bread pudding for breakfast (DELICIOUS!), several different bakery items that are also delicious. It's just a win win situation here! They do have items that vegetarians can enjoy but I can't remember if they had any vegan only items. I also believe the orange juice was fresh...but I could be wrong. The waiter we had was very pleasant and was very welcoming to our questions. All And all this place is a GEM and must stop for breakfast or even lunch when in the area. You won't be disappointed...& if you are maybe I'll come and take your food lol.

Lemon pound cake and chocolate pumpkin candy bar/brownie

My girlfriend picked this spot for my birthday weekend and we were both super excited for the menu of fun breakfast options. When we pulled into the parking lot we second guessed our choice since it's located in a run down looking shopping center however the inside is super cute!! It's got home-y, ma/pop shop vibes for sure. We really wanted to try the baked French toast and pancake special which had roasted pears, whipped ricotta, and honey cardamom syrup but both were sold out. We were disappointed but it worked out because then we both went the savory route. I had the breakfast tacos which was filled with peppers and chorizo. The side of beans was very flavorful and I liked that there were peppers and onions mixed in. My girlfriend was really impressed with the amount and flavor of the bacon in the burger. We got the lemon pound cake and pumpkin chocolate cookie bar to go which were both delicious. We would 100% come back when in the area.

Two eggs your way with sausage and hash browns

Wonderful, quaint little breakfast spot that uses locally sourced ingredients. The eggs have the most amazing color and the coffee is fresh and strong. Super small spot though - so it's difficult to come here with a group larger than 4.

I was on vacay in the Poconos and wanted to try a different breakfast spot. Kitchen-en did not disappoint. My only gripe is that they aren't closer lol. I ordered the buttermilk pancakes, and the breakfast burger. Both were fantastic and the service was extremely friendly. I will be back and I'll be bringing friends!

Breakfast Burger

I can only comment to a take-out sandwich I had, but i'd love to take the time to come back and sit down for a meal soon. I needed some "grub on the go" and called in for their Breakfast Burger one fine Sunday Morning. So this isn't your typical fried egg on a frozen burger patty. The exact description from Kitch-en is "a locally-sourced ground beef & pork sausage patty with gouda cheese, fried egg, layer of crispy onion hashbrowns & house made maple bacon marmalade served on a brioche bun". Uhhh...wow. Awesome sounding burger. And it was awesome. The burger itself was like a mix between a beef lunch burger and a breakfast sausage patty. The Gouda (I would have loved some Cooper Sharp American personally but the gouda was good) added a nice dimension playing off of the maple bacon marmalade. It was quite tasty. It was also a large burger. With that said, $12 for a sandwich with no sides is a bit steep for a breakfast item. Not being able to take in the interior decor and see how the staff was mixed with the cost was the reason for a 4 instead of a 5. I'd say it was more of a 4.25 if I could rate it as such.

Veggie sandwich and fries
C R.

Overall it was good. We went here specifically because several reviewers said it had vegan items. My friend was a bit disappointed because really the only vegan options consisted off holding the cheese off the veggie sandwich and they also had fries. But I can't really blame the restaurant for that. They don't advertise it as vegan friendly. It's the folks posting on Yelp who are giving false hope. For some reason the gps had trouble finding the location. But it's in a strip mall. The place is very small. They don't seat parties of over 5 at one table. They actually ran out of a lot of food before 1 and had to turn some other people away because they were out of everything. But the food we did get was delicious. The servers were very friendly. They were accommodating and did make things as vegan as they were able. The environment was cute and clean. The decor is charming. Despite it being small they made efficient use of the space they have. The bathrooms are nice as well. I got a burger, fries, and biscotti (I loved them all but ate them before taking a picture). The burger had thousand island sauce, cheese, lettuce onion and pickle. My friends are all vegetarian and/or vegan so they all got variations on the veggie sandwich and fries (some had regular fries and some had sweet potato) which everyone said was good. All in all, I'd recommend it as long as you have a small party. Try to come before noon.

Rude welcome

We were visiting from out of town and unfortunately there was 6 of us. We encountered this less than friendly sign at the entrance. Too bad, we were excited to try it.

Specials menu and coconut flavored coffee (coconut is roasted with beans) with a nuttiness that compliments the bean perfectly.
Jay I.

The location of this place looks a little offputting but once at the door you realize that you are in for a treat. The gentleman let me know that everything is made from scratch. He offered regular coffee or a coconut coffee. The menu has selections for everyone from vegan to gluten-free. I went with the bacon, Swiss and onion quiche, it was delicious. It came atop a small bed of mixed greens. The price was super reasonable. The gentleman who waited on me was nice and attentive. I will return. There were many baked goods available at the counter as well.

Smashed Avocado Toast and Sweet Potato & Kale Hash
Ian H.

Do not be mistaken by the half empty plaza it's located in, Kitch-en is a gem of a breakfast/ lunch spot. The staff are incredibly friendly, service is prompt and food delicious, the menu catered to our dietary needs. We had the smashed avocado toast, kale hash and oatmeal which set us up perfectly for the day. Try the specialty coffee! I read a previous review that the staff were rude to a BIPOC family who visited and while I am sorry if that was their experience, during our visit I observed the staff being extremely friendly to a group including people of color. I thought this was important to mention.

Kitchen Burger

I am never disappointed when I eat at Kitchen. I am greeted by wonderful staff with a smile each and every time. Usually, it's Dean. He makes you feel as though you're at home in your own dining room. I am quickly seated and attended to. The eating area is small but quaint and cozy. The meals are adequately priced for their large portions. Each delightful bite is freshly prepared. My favorite is the Kitchen Burger. The Buttermilk pancakes are to die for. Let us not forget the delicious baked goods .They are heavenly. I truly look forward to their weekly specials .

Do they have vegan options?

Ehh...it really shouldn't be listed as a vegan friendly restaurant. There are a couple of things you can *make* vegan if you ask them to hold some ingredients. But it isn't like the items are specifically made to be vegan.

Do they have gluten free options?

Yes they do! I listed photos of their menu on my review :)

Are there any vegetarian options?

Yes there are

Two words: Breakfast Sandwich!…read more Cafe Duet is a great little spot tucked away by the Monroe County Courthouse. They have great coffee, pastries, small bites, and lunch options. The breakfast sandwich is phenomenal! As their menu states, it consists of "two organic eggs, split and grilled Spanish chorizo, sharp cheddar cheese and baby arugula on a fresh baked roll w/ a touch of sriracha mayo." The eggs are cooked perfectly! The contrast of the cheddar against the chorizo and sriracha mayo is wonderful and the peppery arugula comes through at the end. I would eat one every morning if my wallet/waist could afford it! The cafe is both large and small (you'll really only understand if you go) but I never have an issue finding somewhere to sit. In the warmer months, it's really nice to sit outside in their patio area. The staff is always accommodating and the place is well kept. Sometimes you wait a bit for things but it's never super long and they are pretty good at keeping you in the loop if there's an issue. Definitely a great spot worth checking out!

The coffee to milk ratio was good and the chocolate flabor was not too overpowering- it still tasted like a latte and not hot chocolate. It wasn't watered down, and was still rich and creamy. The americano was a good cup- straight to the point and robust. We also had the banana nut bread and the pistachio-cranberry-white mocha chip biscotti. Both pastries were pretty good. Some tables had ordered hot food like waffles and soups, which looked pretty good and we might try this place out for a snack or breakfast in the future. Interior is pretty with plants, a record player playing jazz, and clean tables and chairs. Service is friendly, interior is old world charm, coffee and pastries are great. Public parking, ccs, Apple Pay. Public metered parking. Would recommend!

I've been here a couple of times with my wife before, food is generally fine. Service fine. Today…read morethough - Alana leveled a baseless accusation against me claiming I cursed at her on the street (for transparency, there was a mishap with Grubhub which had me waiting an extra 45 minutes and needing to pick up the order instead... I wasn't ecstatic and all smiles obviously but there was no confrontation and certainly no profanity. In fact, as Alana was walking away after giving me my bags, she was the one angrily grumbling some nonsense under her breath, raising her arms, and venting her annoyance as if I had no right to be frustrated with the situation, which is really why she made up the lie to begin with: entitlement). The owner Angel then gave me a "courtesy" call to tell me how she did not appreciate this, how horrible my mistreatment of Alana was, how "not right" it was, and how she especially did not appreciate all of the profanities. She claimed that my issue was with Grubhub and not them. (I found that "courtesy" call amusing, she had time for this call but not enough for a courtesy call to let me know my food was waiting for 45 minutes under a lamp). I immediately called back after I saw the accusation on my voicemail transcript, vehemently denied it and asked her to tell me exactly what profanity was used. I heard her ask Alana while I was on the phone. I also asked over speakerphone. Of course Alana had no response - she muttered something along the lines "oh so much has happened in the last hour I just can't remember". That's because it was all a lie designed to make herself a victim. It was just her entitlement at work - she was mad and thought of a way to get back at me by making up a lie. I'm sure this has worked in the past for her. It may work in the future. She should be fired for making up such an egregious lie really, but based on the "courtesy" call I feel Angel is likely supportive of these sorts of tactics. Alana felt she could easily accuse the big bad man of verbal abuse with profanity and everyone would just believe her - and they did for a while. While I understand Angel standing up for her staff, she did so with absolutely no evidence. How on Earth can you leave some long chastising voicemail on someone's phone accusing them of cursing at a woman on the street and you didn't check for video, and don't even know exactly what was said? Alana is actually a dangerous person - to make a false accusation like this against a grown man with a family is absolutely insane. Parents, keep your sons away from this person! This is a girl who needs to be seeing a therapist or something. Imagine how nuts you have to be to make up a story about a customer then watch your boss call them knowing you lied. I haven't been accused of anything since like 2nd grade. Bizarre situation. No apology from the owner when it was exposed as a lie. Very immature, absolutely vile behavior.
