I still don't understand the pickles thing! I also didn't know that there was toast, until I'd eaten half and discovered it underneath the meal. It should be mentioned. The size of the chicken tenders heavily outweighs most of the national restaurant chains! I had to take a loss, because I got my food and left without checking it. I will never get over the fact that in Texas you can't get fried gizzards with pickles, onions, mustard, hot sauce and ketchup. So, I am always going to mark down for this. Anyway, I was craving some gizzards. I decided on Henderson. The gizzards were not fried hard enough at all. The seasoning however hit well. Like real well! I have a couple of employees who have been bragging about Henderson chicken for a couple of years now . They were always comparing Henderson to both Rudy's chicken and hall's chicken, both of which I am also huge fans of . And I finally, got my hands on some and I have been stuck on it and craving it regularly, every since . One thing I'd like to say to give an idea of their chicken is they are in the middle of Rudy's chicken and halls chicken, where as Rudy's chicken is overly seasoned, halls isn't seasoned at all, but Hendersons chicken is seasoned to perfection. My kids said they have the best chicken strips in the DFW , and we'll continue to test their opinions as we come across other places . Now, It very important that you understand that location plays a huge factor in your experience. Personally, I love the Lancaster location not including the overwhelming level of anxiety that I get for them being so freaking tiny and having so many people standing around outside and inside of the restaurant, but because the Lancaster location workers are always so friendly , welcoming , I'm good spirits and the food is always hot, fresh and always good. Now I've read so many reviews regarding the drive thru locations in Desoto , and I can say my experience the couple of times I've gone have always been similar to the majority of the people's reviews. The desoto location, the workers are RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, GHETTO, IMPATIENT AND I can list a number of other unpleasant words to describe them. I exaggerate none when I tell you, I've gone before and was approached at the intercom with "what you want "??? And as I'm telling/listing to the lady what I want she would continue to interrupt me each time with asking " is that it"? Like I really wanted to snap and address her about her unprofessional behavior and rushing me as if I wasn't doing them a favor and aiding to their business with my hard earned money, but I also know better then to be aggressive with people handling your food. I will admit that her tone was different and changed when I got to the window , she even complimented me on my hairstyle. Or ??? maybe the lady on the intercom and the lady at the window are two different people??. Either way, they are always rude for no reason. And I only still go to that Desoto Location when I really want some Henderson chicken but I don't feel like getting out of my car and confronting my anxiety. My five stars is for the recipe it's self , all locations that I've gone to the food is always good and hot . but my 5 stars, are also for the great hospitality/customer service at the location in Lancaster. read more

always good service when i come, fast and friendly. they recently stopped accepting apple pay (just a heads up) overall great priced and can definitely feed a family on a budget. i recommend asking for extra seasoning on the fries and another thing i wish they'd do is put the bread on top - it tends to get soggy from the pickle juice. read more

Flavorless chicken, overpriced, overcooked. Horrendous customer service, the manager or owner has a bad disposition. Walking up to the counter to yell at the cashier, poor dude had enough and was sassing his dumass back. Honestly I don't blame him. I should've just canceled my large order which took 52 minutes to complete. I thought, well he took his time to make it fresh... Uhh no. The chicken had to have been sitting out in the kitchen where you can't see. The restaurant wasn't very busy but we waited for nearly an hour for our food. I'm assuming the wait time was due to the employees taking turns going in and out standing around outside smoking. They did appear to wash or sanitize their hands but they apparently for what we ordered because it was completely wrong. If you're hungry and want some hot, delicious, and reasonably priced chicken this is the place for you! I grew up on Henderson's chicken as a child since my grandmother lived in South Dallas and it's still the same. This was my first visit to this location in particular and like all of the rest, the customer service was great and the food excellent. Both my husband and I got a 3 piece white(2 wings and a breast) that came with peppers, fries, bread, and pickles for around $10. The breast was really juicy and not dry and the wings were heaven as always. There is one right up the street on loop 12 that is good but this one is really good. I couldn't find the CAMP WISDOM Dallas location this is for that location. I always go to Hendersons and enjoy their food. Today I went and the cashier asked if they had more chicken wings... The food doesn't taste the same without the "Magic Seasoning" if they say that they are out leave right away! 2. Moderation is the key! Because of the price, 5$ will get you 2-3 pieces of chicken+2 slices of bread+French fries + pickles and jalapeños....mix in some cold beer after work. You might think to yourself "I will just eat here every day" and you will for a entire month. 3. I hear the chicken is amazing but I went for the fish. Fish basket is well worth the long wait it takes to get it! Be sure to get extra seasoning. The filets are a nice size and fried to perfection. Ate here today for the first time. I ordered a 2 piece breast meal with fries. They cook it immediately right in front of you and everything was piping hot. Prices were (dare I say) cheap. Seasoning was good on the chicken and it was nice and juicy on the inside. The pickles were fabulous, too. lol I didn't eat the pepper. The fries were nothing special, just standard fries. I added seasoning salt to mine. They were better with the seasoning salt. The staff was super friendly and helpful. But the door is forever revolving, it's a busy little place. This place is a staple for us. We eat this chicken at least once a week. This us the best Hendersons Chicken that I have had. They cook it fresh and very well seasoned. A meal comes with fries, bread, chicken, and peppers and pickles. The menu has other items also not just chicken. just visited the Desoto Tx location. While sitting in line I heard the supposed order taker rudely YELL at the guys behind me. When I got up to the window I ask why was she yelling so loudly at him, she said 'he couldn't hear me'. I said it sounded really rude how you asked him about his drinks. She slammed to window but I heard her make a comment to me as I was driving off.. I went back and told her that I heard her and where was the manager, which was right there, 2 peas in a pod. As a matter of fact, the lady on the window was the same lady that over charged me during the summer and I went back the next day to talk to the manager for my money owed. This is the main reason I hate eating out in the southern sector (where I live). Stopped by Henderson's Chicken to get my granddaughter something to eat. I guess they assumes everyone want the pickles and peppers. When I got to the window I told the cashier my granddaughter could have pickled/peppers. She said she would redo the order. I thanked her. She left and returned the order to me. Got home and found that the p/p were not in the order but the bread at the bottom and a couple pieces of chicken was soaked with juice of the p/p. So we had to still discard most of the order. I hated for my granddaughter to see what had just happened. I trusted them to rectify the order but that didn't happen. Lesson learned: Check your order before you drive forward.
