I scheduled an appointment with HelloTech, but the technician never showed up. I waited around and only got vague updates through chat that they were "working on assigning a technician." Hours later, still nothing. What made this worse is that I had to ask multiple times what was going on they never proactively updated me. Eventually, I had to cancel the appointment myself. this was still a complete waste of time. If you need reliable service, look elsewhere. I can't recommend HelloTech after this experience. read more

It was quite a bit more expensive than quotes we received from companies directly, but nobody else could get us in same day - our next soonest option seemed to be 4 days out. Definitely worth it! Our tech Rodney was wonderful! The studs in this house are difficult to locate (diagonal in places? we don't know.) and he tried and tried again until he got it. Then we just couldn't get it quite straight - again, this house is weird - and he kept adjusting until he got it. He was extremely professional yet fun to hang out with. I have used this service before and found setup to be adequate. This time I needed to have my surround sound reset. I also needed The tech that was sent you laptop internet connection reset. The tech was knowledgeable about the laptop issue. The TV issue ended up being a disaster. I had to get an additional HDMI cable which I took from another television. When he left I had not tested TV connections. The Apple TV was not connected. When I plugged the Apple cable back in, I had no sound. Components act like they are not connected to each other. This company hires independent contractors. Because company is not local, I don't think the contractors are fully vetted for competency in all areas that they have been assigned. I have notified the company and I got an apology. I guess I have to demand a return visit with a trained tech. read more

I paid $116 for something that I was doing before. I thought that the tech was going to go into my computer and clean it. I already used CCleaner, Malwarebytes and adware. Nothing was done different then what I have done in the past. I don't see my computer running any better. In fact now I can't even read my doc files. This was an online service. I ordered HelloTech to install a printer for my elderly father. The technician called and set the appointment for 10 AM the next day. The technician did not show up and did not call to let my father know he was not coming. I had to call HelloTech to inquire and have the appointment rescheduled for later that day. The technician that showed up was very nice but was not very knowledgeable. It took him three hours to connect the printer. A younger neighbor came over and is the one who actually did most of the work to get the printer connected. The technician commented that he, the neighbor, knew more than the technician did. read more

It was awful. Can I give 0 stars? After ordering a mounting for a 65 inch Oled television with the brackets already secured to the wall, specifically asking if there would be an additional charge because I thought it would require 2 people, I was told no. I was not home when the tech Richard S. Arrived because I was on the way home from a doctors visit, but my wife was at home. When I did arrive home the television was already on the wall. The first thing I asked was do you dispose of the box and the packaging materials, because it was all over my breakfast room and strewn over the floor. He quickly responded no. The tech then stated I need you to sign here. I said I'd like to check out what you've done first. I noticed the wires were all along the bottom of the television between the bottom of the television and the top of the mantle not zip tied off and very unsightly. When I asked if he was going to neatly bring the wires together, he said No! That I wasn't charged for that and hellotech didn't know how to charge for it. Again rushing me to sign off before I could finishing reviewing the installation. My wife then told me she had to help mount the television to the wall. I was in total disbelief. I had specifically ask about the number of people when I placed the order because I thought it would take two people, I just didn't know one of them would be my wife. There were chunks of styrofoam left behind the tv to allegedly keep it even. The tech had no Idea where the remote control was. The tech Richard S. Hello Tech cancelled two separate times on my installation after the Tech did not show up at the scheduled time. The tech showed up the third time. Hello Tech has a $25 cancellation fee for its customers that cancel within 3 hrs of a scheduled install, but apparently that doesn't apply to them. I actually came to the office over the 4th of July Holiday to meet the tech the first time, so that was a huge inconvenience when nobody showed. PS: I never ever received a call from them.....I had to call them and let them know. Not so sure these guys are "highest rated by the NY Times" or whatever that it said. read more

Ordered through Walmart when we bought a 70" tv and mount. Requested service on a Monday for anytime that week. They were unable to find a tech to install my tv after a week. They had dispatched to 12 different contractors and none would accept the job. You're at their mercy as to whether or not they take the job. Do not use this company. When the tech began to dismount the TV installed by another Hello Tech he commented on the problematic work. Two extension cords were discovered and pronounced in violation of the fire code. The wrong bolts were used to affix the screen to the wall and wasn't level. Also upside down. The final straw was learning if a fire had broken out I would not have been approved by the insurance adjustor due to use of extension cords. I paid good money for what I believed was proper service, was charged again and Hello Tech has yet to respond to my concerns registered via a phone call. read more
