My son and I dropped in on Hello Shawarma looking for a quick lunch between weekend sporting events. As we entered one of the line workers greeted us with a friendly hello and offered to answer any questions we had. We each had a shawarma sandwich on pita. Our pitas arrived stuffed to the point of overflowing. I had the steak with all of the toppings plus a dollop of hummus and my son the chicken with pickles. We were both very happy with our meals. Tons of flavor and perfectly prepared. As we were leaving we noticed the trays of colorful pickled vegetable by the door and my son asked what the purple ones were. The friendly gentleman behind the counter encouraged us to give them a try. Not sure how often we'll make it back to Palos, but if we do Hello Shawarma will be on our to do list. read more

The rice killed every flavor in that bowl. Horrible idea to be using biryani rice for bowls. Or at least make it an option. I couldn't distinguish between the flavor of my shawarma and everything else. And I suggest arranging the bowl better because I had to dig to the bottom of the bowl for the toppings. read more

Great concept great choices of protein. Order and pick up is easy and simple. We ordered few wraps to go, came in little boxes and unfortunately it was cold when we got home and all the wraps tasted bland. not much flavor at all. Hello Shawerma had a large variety of different shawerma and even falafel sandwiches. The employees were very nice and welcoming. I was surprised to see they even had turkey shawerma just like back home. It was fresh, juicy and delicious. I loved the bread as well it lives up to its name- fluffy pita. Stopped in to get food to have a little picnic at Lake Catherine and we were blown away by the food and amazing service. We were warmly greeted and had the menu described to us. They're proud of all their items but especially excited about the different breads and pickles/olives. We ordered a variety of sandwiches and wraps, plus hummus, olives, and allllll the sauces. I was a little skeptical about this place at first because I thought it was like a fast food chain but it's not and serves authentic and fresh Arabian food! The owner, a younger guy, was very helpful and friendly my first visit and continues to be every time I stop in. The service there is probably the best I've experienced in years! The food is excellent too! They have 3 rotisserie spits with lamb, beef, and chicken. All meats are fresh and excellent! My favorite dish is the lamb mansef bowl with a side of garlic sauce! And if you like pickled vegetables, they have an assortment that seems endless! They have this sandwich that has a sesame bun, I can't remember the name of it but it's like a Mediterranean Philly cheese! Hands down the best Shawarma sandwiches in Chicago area. The owner is always present no matter what time of day or night I stop by and he is always looking over everything and ensuring customers are taken care of. Food is made to order and fresh. You can't go wrong with the shawarma on a baguette. There is a good amount of seating but sometimes it gets so busy you may have to wait to catch a table but it's never been more than a 10 minute wait for me even at the busiest times. This is a well run restaurant and always lively for good reason! Also open late which is a plus! read more

The fries are soo good and seasoned to perfection! The bowls have cucumbers, olives and feta which is a nice difference to a lot of the other shawarma bowls around the Bridgeview area. Place was very busy when I went but the service was solid. The owner came and took my order himself. They also have an automated screen near the entrance to place your order to speed things up. I ordered the chicken shawarma meal and mansaf. The chicken shawarma was solid and the seasoning on the fries was excellent. For a fast food restaurant, the mansaf was REALLY good. It was made with lamb shawarma and the laban wasn't heavy or salty like some other restaurants. I'll be coming here regularly. read more
