    Chicken shawarma meal with fries
    Jonathan W.

I discovered this place on YouTube on an episode of the "Golden Balance". Open parking, take credit card. Schwarma chicken meal $13.49 Schwarma sandwich $9 Comes with a large heaping of seasoned fries, Toulum sauce. The chicken schwarma sandwich was excellent, lots of good flavor, moist, and the bread was nice and had some chew. I would only get this next time. Schwarma steak sandwich $11.99- steak was soft, tasty. But didn't have the same level of flavor as the chicken. If you desire beef, this is a good option. 3 Chicken tenders $9.99- comes with fries. I would pass on this. It's good for kids.

Delicious food, generous portions, and great prices! I've tried the food from this spot before through Uber Eats, but I recently visited in person and it was as great as delivery! We got the half rotisserie chicken meal and half fried chicken meal - we were told we'd have to wait a while for our food, but the wait was worth it. While we waited, we were given a complimentary soup, which was such a nice (and delicious) touch! When we got our food, it was piping hot, wonderfully seasoned, and perfectly cooked. I'll admit that we were impressed by how juicy and tender each piece of chicken was, including the chicken breasts. The rice was amazing, fries were great, and had a variety of drinks to choose from. The restaurant was super clean, service was wonderful, and all in all a great experience. I will absolutely continue getting food from Alasala, both for dining in and delivery!

I've been trying to find great rotisserie-style chicken in Chicago since I've had the best from Holy Land in Minneapolis. I had hope for Alasala in Bridgeview, but I will still be looking. The portions are huge, and everyone in the restaurant was nice. We ordered the half chicken rotisserie meal, the half chicken broasted meal, and the shawarma meal for three people in our party. The portions were so generous that it would have been enough for six people. The shawarma was great! The broasted chicken and the rotisserie needed more flavor. We got served complimentary tea while we were waiting for our food, and it was a small cup of warm hospitality. The best part of this restaurant is that they have a separate section for prayer. Hanging out with family and having a comfortable place to pray is much appreciated. I would come back here for the shawarma and the generous portions. Each meal was bought for 13.49.

We were able to try out Alasala shortly after its opening. Apparently it was just a soft opening for now, as only a few menu items were available when we went. It's a standalone building with ample parking; it kind of looks like it used to be a bank with the drive-thru lanes. The interior was clean and spacious with plenty of natural light. It's a fast casual place, but the tables looked fancy. Service was decent. We ordered a steak shawarma meal, which came with fries and a drink. We also ordered a half-chicken rotisserie meal with rice. In hindsight, I wish we had ordered something with fried chicken like the zinger burger just to test out their fried chicken. The steak shawarma was excellent. Lots of flavor from the meat. The fries were decent; the seasoning on them was different than what I'm accustomed to. This dish included tahini sauce and something like a salsa, both of which were tasty. The rotisserie chicken was also pretty good. The white chicken part was kind of dry, but I think that's usually the case with rotisserie. The dark meat part was juicier and more flavorful. The skin was also crispy and flavorful. This dish also included some bread and a lemon wedge. Decent food overall, but I wasn't blown away. I'd like to try their fried chicken in the future.

He took excellent care of us, made us feel genuinely welcome, and added a personal touch that made the entire experience even better. Why did it take me so long to get here?…read more I have been driving past this place for longer than I would like to admit. Always saying the same thing, "I'm going to stop next time." Well we finally stopped and sat down for seafood feast that I have not been able to stop thinking about. We were greeted as soon we walked in and asked if we were dining in or ordering out. We were dining in and there were no available tables so we were escorted to a seating area until one was available which didn't take long. Danny was our server and quickly came over and introduced himself and took our drink orders. As I have said before, service is extremely important to me and Island Shrimp House is not lacking in hospitality. Danny did a great job and we appreciate his recommendations. We ordered: Mini Crab Cakes Claim Chowder Seafood Jambalaya Breaded Shrimp Half Beast From the East (Lobster Roll) Stuffed Lobster I already said it feast! I truly enjoyed the shrimp jambalaya. It was so flavorful and had chunks of seafood in it that I could actually see and taste which is very much appreciated! The half beast from the east lobster roll is exactly what you would expect if you were sitting in a seafood shack in Maine. Buttery soft roll with fresh lobster chunks. I could only finish half the roll. The stuffed lobster tail was extremely popular and for good reason. It was on the specials menu and you see the photo, nothing else to say! I'm looking forward to my next several visits as the food was delicious and the service made you feel at home. That's just my palate, go try it for yourself and let me know what you think!

She was pretty nice and very knowledgeable about the food menu as well as the drink menu. For my meal, I did enjoy the bone in ribeye steak with a baked potato with the added shrimp! You can add 4 large shrimp for an extra charge and it was worth it. The shrimp tasted like it was cooked on a grill and had that smokey flavoring to it. My steak was also cooked perfectly and was jam packed with flavor. It literally melted in your mouth! The potato was also good; their butter made it 10X better. I'm not sure what kind of butter they use but it was really good on that and on the bread they serve at the beginning. My fiance had 2lbs of king crab legs and while they were very expensive for only 2lbs (we get it - market price but this was A LOT), they did taste like they had been frozen for awhile. We were not impressed with them at all and he 100% regretted getting them, especially for that price. We were very disappointed in those. If we do come back, we will definitely stick to steak or maybe another fish. What made this visit so awesome was that our waitress gave us a slice of cheesecake on the house to celebrate our anniversary, which we thought was so kind! They even put a heart around it! We honestly had a great experience here and I loved that the restaurant wasn't jam packed and it just felt very intimate and cozy.

I have a hard time finding carbonara pasta in the Chicagoland area, and I was glad that this pasta was delicious and semi authentic. For dessert, the sticky toffee carrot cake is good! Needless to say,…read morethere was not a good restaurant in Alsip so we had to go to Oak Lawn for Francesca's on 95th! We had a great time, with great service and really good old fashioned Italian food!!! For our appetizer, we had the sausage and peppers. GAME CHANGER!!! Neither of us had eaten this classic Italian appetizer before and Francesca's version was a great introduction to this dish. Surprisingly, it was NOT the sausage that was the star of this presentation - it was the sauce and the peppers. The sauce was part top notch olive oil, part Italian seasonings and it was a wonderfully delicious background to each bite. The peppers (green, red & yellow) were perfectly cooked, luxuriously soft but still with a little crisp to them. Those peppers were perfectly cooked! I do think the sausage, while okay, was not up to the standard of the rest of this dish. For my main, I had the Linguini Alla Caruso - shrimp, garlic, olive oil with a basil-pine nut pesto sauce. It was very good, very good. Be warned though the sauce leans a little to the sour or harsh flavor. Not too bad, I certainly ate it up, but there was certainly a sharp taste every once in a while. My spouse had Dana's Bolognese. He was very happy with it! The overwhelming reaction to our main dishes was "holy crap" that's a lot of food! The dishes were as large as a coffee table and we NEVER could have eaten all that food no matter how long we sat there at dinner. Each dish was big enough to feed both of us and several people at nearby tables!!! But the best part of Francesca's on 95th was the service. Everyone was so friendly, so nice, hard working and willing to take care of our every need. Seriously, the staff worked their butts off and provided some of the best service I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Hats off to everyone from the hostess to the server to the bus people. You all really took care of us that evening. You will NOT walk away from Francesca's hungry! Is the food the best Italian I have ever had? Probably not but it is definitely solid and a great place to enjoy a good meal.
