Mashawee Guy is the epitome of a hole in the wall. Minimal parking, fast food interior dressed up to look fancy, so-so service... But there was a steady stream of customers, so I figured it had to be decent. I didn't pick the best time to go, as there was a large group there and the small staff was busy preparing their orders. After I got someone's attention, I asked for a few skewers with a side of rice. They didn't have rice, so I asked for pita bread instead. I ordered one kufta skewer, one chicken skewer, and one beef (filet mignon) skewer. In addition to the pita bread, they served the food with hummus, pickles, and some sort of tomato salad. Although you order and pay at the counter (no paper menus), they did bring the food out to the table. The kufta and chicken were decent, but a little dry. The beef was excellent; tender and juicy. The hummus and tomato salad were delicious, especially the former. The pita bread was fine, but it would have been nicer if it was slightly warmed up. The interior isn't the nicest, but there is an extension with additional seating. Decent food and a good value. The total with tax and tip came out to just under $25, which was enough for a light lunch for three people. read more

I just ate at Mashawee Guy and throughly enjoyed my meal. The wings were great, the beef and kufta were very flavorful, and the chicken kabob was also well seasoned. The sides that come with the meats were also delicious and provided a great addition to the meat. There was hummus, baba ghanooj, pickled veggies, and an Arabic salad in tahini sauce. The service was quick and attentive. We placed our order and took a seat to wait for the meat to be grilled as everything is made fresh to order. The restaurant itself is small and inside seating is limited however there is a space outside that allows for smoking. But, it's also the best baba ghanouj... and the best smoked wings... and the best kafta.... and the best filet kebab.... and, I swear, it's the best falafel I've ever had. Only review you need to READ! NOT a family place, meaning if you're looking for a server to bring you water or ask if you needed anything else this is not that place. This is delicious food, good quality meats and seasonings are outstanding. But not your typical restaurant. Food prices are a bit high but that's everywhere you go nowadays. Is a great place for guy friends to hang out, grab a great bite. I came here with my family was not what I was expecting. I will definitely return but not with wife and kids. Food quality and flavor are on point. However, we went on a Saturday night at 6pm and they were already out of Falafil and Lamb. There should be better planning for weekends. Food pricing/value are not great for the small portions. Ridiculous surcharges and price gauging. When we got the bill we were charged a 3.5% credit card fee and $4 per water bottle when the can of sodas were only $2, how does that work? We will most probably not go again. read more
