I propose the name to be either Hella Mid Burger, Hella Expensive Burger, or just Good Burger. I ordered a Hella Fried Chicken Sandwich and man, was the price hard to stomach. I'm paying more for a chicken sandwich than ANYWHERE ELSE in the Bay Area. I get food hall prices can be elevated but come on man, this is highway robbery. Not everyone makes that much money... The order around 10min, so I assume it's pretty fresh. The mild option didn't really pack a punch, so at least opt for a medium if you can justify $20 for a chicken sandwich the size of a McChicken. There is nothing that stands out here, the burger tastes similar to other fried chicken spots with the exception that they skimped on the coleslaw. The chicken was juicy, but isn't that the BARE MINIMUM since you're ordering a dark meat chicken sandwich? The customer service is the only saving grace of this spot. If you're driving here for this spot, you probably either have some sort of discount/coupon. My coworkers love this burger place and always recommend it every shift we work downtown. I finally decided to give it a try last week on my lunch break. I wasn't sure what to get or what I might like so I kept it simple and ordered a hella good cheeseburger by itself. The staff was very polite and fast with my order. I ordered to go since my lunch wasn't very long and it was only about a 3 minute walk to the car. As much as I did enjoy the taste of the burger itself I was really bummed out in the less than three minute walk to the car the entire burger was completely soggy. I'm not upset at paying seventeen dollars for a burger I'm upset for paying for a burger that got soggy and completely fell apart in less than five minutes. Can't say it was "hella good" but have always been curious about this spot. I got the hella good cheeseburger and the hella skinny fries. It was ready in under 10 min on a busy bustling Saturday evening. The burger was nothing special, tasted like a basic burger you'd get at an event/festival/carnival/etc. I thought their "secret sauce" would be noticeable but I barely noticed any sauce flavor and it was pretty watery and drippy. I got the hella skinny fries which were solid. No complaints about the fries. On 1/21/26, went to lunch at San Pedro Square Market with my work besties. The lunch itself will be on a different review, as this is for dessert. After eating, as we walked through the market, Hella Good caught my eye as they had a Chocolate Dipped Cone. Around 12p, was first in line, and waited a couple minutes. I could hear someone behind the wall in the corner and said "excuse me". Probably wasn't loud enough so a couple more minutes said "excuse me" again. The worker (maybe the cook?) emerged from the back, and said the cashier would be back as they had went to the restroom. Continued to wait, and the cook walked past the front and headed towards the restrooms. I felt like at this point, I was committed to sticking to the end for this dessert! A few minutes later, the cashier came back, greeted and said thanks for waiting. I said of course, and I wanted to let him know that the line was up to five people but now only two were left. He said he was in the restroom. I totally get it, though I thought it was a missed customer opportunity for their business. Ordering the chocolate dipped cone was quick and the cashier made the dessert while I was paying. The cashier handed me the chocolate dipped cone - a vanilla swirl, drizzled with chocolate sauce, and an upside down cone at the top; eh I was all in a cup. Glad I was able to satisfy my sweet tooth! We came here on a weekend evening and were surprised at the long wait time given that we only had one person in front of us. For an order of chicken tenders and fries and tater tots with garlic and cheese, we waited over 10 minutes for the food. The food was freshly fried, but it wasn't anything special. The chicken tenders were average, though we would have liked it crispier. The fries were also pretty good. But the garlic tater tots were not very good. Definitely a hella good burger! Got the double smashed burger and each bite melted in my mouth like butter. Juicy, flavorful, cheesy, and the bun was super soft. It was packed and I couldn't finish it so I don't want to immediately shut down the price since I had left overs, but it is quite expensive! I'm a little disappointed in the onion rings though. Amazing chicken sandwich with other decent options for burgers and fries, and a very friendly guy at the counter! I decided to check out Hella Good Burger on my way out of town after a business trip and may have found the best chicken sandwich I've tasted so far. It's unique in that it's battered similarly to beer battered fish, which provides a really nice crunch and texture to contrast with the softer bun and flavorful array of condiments. I also liked that they don't try to do too much with the chicken, but they allow it to speak for itself, and it works in my opinion. I thought the insane burger was adequate, the meat was not overly cooked and the bread held up its end of the integrity bargain, but I would have liked more cheese. Not much a fan of the crispy cheese on the bottom, but I like mine oozing more. I also tried the garlic fries and tater tots with garlic crumble, and they are NOT shy about the garlic. Definitely had to brush before getting home to my wife! All in all I thought this was a pretty good find, and I will definitely be coming back for another date with that chicken sandwich! read more

It was evident that our shakes were mixed with water instead of milk, which was so disappointing. :( The restaurant also did not include half of our order with our delivery. :( (They have a responsibility to hand off all the items ordered to the delivery driver.) It was supposed to come with lettuce, sauce, two patties, cheese, and grilled onions. First of all the hamburger patties were not smashed.. smashed burgers had that thin crispy outer part which was missing from this. There was a good amount of sauce and the bun was toasty but they forgot my grilled onions!! For a $15 burger, you cannot afford to forget one of the four toppings. While it was cooked fine, the flavor (likely dill) was overpowering, and as much as I enjoy dill, it completely dominated the taste. I first tried this place at Enchanted Christmas and I got the Western burger which was soooo good! The restaurant is right inside the San Pedro Square building surrounded by a bunch of other restaurants. A couple things.. the chili cheese burger did not have enough chili inside, there was barely any. And the hella good burger had so much sauce to the point of both my hands drenched/ sticky.. so I would recommend having a fork close by when eating the hella good burger. Also, you would think the chili cheese burger would be the one dripping with the chili, but no.. Overall, they were pretty flavorful burgers and fries, just super messy and on the pricier side.
