Great service, food was ready in under 5 minutes. They were very quick in clearing tables and keeping the dining spaces clean too. I ordered the #1 single smash wagyu cheeseburger combo. You can choose either fries, onion rings, or tater tots. I went with the fries. The patty had crispy outer edges. At some parts, it was a little too crispy and tough, but the burger was pretty good overall. The sauce inside was similar to a chipotle vibe. Fries were solid too, no complaints. Overall would come again and would be down to try their milkshakes next time.
I heard great things about this place and I came here on a Friday night. I love that there's plenty of seating outside and inside. Street parking is also super easy and it's just right around the corner. The customer service here is great. The person taking our order was super patient and helpful. It was my first time and I didn't know what to order. I went with the #4 which is the jalepeno burger. I got a side of fries and a vanilla shake as well. They're super generous with their jalepenos yum! I tried out their garlic sauce, jalepeno sauce, and chipotle mayo sauce which paired so well with the fries. I can't wait to come back again to try out other items from their menu :)
Don't be like me and wait to finally try this place because it is now our #1 burger joint in San Jose! I couldn't decide what to order per usual but I ordered their all day breakfast sandwich with sausage and I just can't believe how savory it is! It's hearty, delicious and hits different. My spouse had their jalapeño double smash burger and he left no crumbs. It looked so gooey with the melted cheese and the meat was full of flavor. We were skeptical about their fries because beef tallow sort of grosses me out but we ate every single fry. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and the right amount of seasoning. On a Thursday at lunch, it was poppin with customers but plenty of indoor and outside seats.
Located off Santa Clara Street, a lot of action happening over here. The staff is truly amazing. Friendly and accommodating, always checking up on us. They have a little seating inside and some tables outside. Very big menu! Burgers were delicious and the fries were tasty as well. 100% recommend and would go back!
We had to take a phone for repair a few doors down so we came here while we waited for that. We had a GREAT meal. These are like, the smash style patties so they have that nice crispy edge to them. I got mine just the way I like it; swiss, tomatoes,avocado and mustard. Also tried the onion rings. And they had Stubborn Root Beer (YUM!!) the burger was really good, just the right size. Onion rings were a good, perfectly serviceable battered rings, but a little salty. Partner had a breakfast sandwich and LOVED adding their special hot sauce mix to it. He said it was a little unwieldy to pick up and eat sandwich style, but tasty nonetheless. The inside was clean, but the seating was sparse. However, the outside seating was very good, and a great place to people watch. My only real complaint is the medu ordering screens were hard to navigate, since the only place to "grab" the screen for scrolling was over easily clickable burger options, so going through the customisation list was like accidentally ordering MANY toppings I did not want and then having to carefully go back up and unselect them and then try not to re-select them on the way back down. So, in light of that, I would recommend ordering from the super friendly counter person instead.
Great place to go for a smash burger. Walking in gives you that nostalgic old‑school burger‑joint vibe. The service was excellent, and we were even greeted by the owner, Rick. Although it's a fast‑food spot, it doesn't operate like one, the owner and staff checked on us midway through our meal to make sure everything was good. A really nice touch. We visited during restaurant week and tried their deal: two smash burgers, two fries, and two drinks for $30. The smash burgers were tasty with perfectly crispy edges, and we loved the potato buns they were served on. The extra spicy sauce had a solid kick. The fries were fantastic -- crispy, flavorful, and easily a standout. They offer a variety of soft drinks (with free refills) and canned beers. Service was quick, and everything was brought right to our table. There's also a self‑serve water station. This place made a great impression, and we'll definitely be back to try more of their menu.

They are seemingly ordinary looking, in the heart of Downtown San Jose, but you are kindly greeted by staff at the front counter when you enter. They are patient and explain the menu items to you. And when your order comes, they have this knowingness, as though they let you in on a secret, "There you go. Do you want the spicy orange sauce?" Yas! The friendly personalities of the staff seem to be a standout. Go here to satisfy your wagyu smash burger hankerings. They are so flavorful and juicy, and well worth the visit! At grand opening, my husband and I were able to spark up a conversation with the owner. He had such a welcoming, amiable quality naming the other fellow smash burger joints in the area that he himself would recommend trying. It was then that we learned about his use of New School American Cheese, which they use for the burgers. This American cheese aspires to use premium quality ingredients that allow for a sexy melt that oozes on the smash burgers in an unprocessed sort of way. I find this to be a critical decision, and is one of the reasons why I continue to go here! But my review today really has to be for the Jumbo Ripper which I ordered with the tater tots. The hot dog is deep fried in beef tallow, creating a juicy snap to the hot dog. The tater tots had that excellent crunch factor. Dress both of them up either in ketchup or their Spicy "6" Sauce -- or both! Yeah! Just go here and try it! :D
Grub a dub dub! Sixth Street burger odd hella good! I've been twice and had the same both times. The smash Wagyu cheeseburger and onion rings. The burger almost melted mouth; the cheese perfectly balanced; and the size (height) just tight for taking big a** bites. The onion rings are just right crispness. Service vines with a smile and they check up on you. I'm only bummed that they serve Pepsi instead of Coke. The seating is a little weird as people line up in front of where I'm seated and the tv is cool but at a weird angle.
Love how attentive their staff are. Parking is plentiful with a public garage nearby (free for 90 mins). Location is in the heart of downtown San Jose right in front of city hall. Lots and lots of seating (inside and out). The smash burger has so much potential but I feel like the meat was not seasoned properly. You have to really eat it with their hot sauce. 3/5 The chicken sandwich, although smaller than most places, definitely had more flavor going. It is also very messy as the veggies are all "moist" and will fall apart, make sure you keep the foil on. 4/5
Came back for round 2 and got $50 worth of wagyu burgers, onion rings, tater tots, strawberry watermelon and blueberry cheesecake smoothie. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The service is always fast and friendly and people are happy to help out here! The food was impeccable and charged us for the next few hours. Absolutely love this place!
Delectable. We ordered a 1/4 lb delux smash wagyu cheeseburger and 1/2 lb jalapeno wagyu double smash cheeseburger combo (onion rings + pepsi) via Owner. The pickup process was seamless, and we ate our order inside. There weren't too many seats, but luckily it wasn't too busy, and pretty clean too. We both demolished our burgers, they were that good. I personally enjoyed having the lettuce/raw onion/pickles balance out the overall burger. Pickle ratio to burger was good too, very evenly distributed throughout. Only small area of improvement would be the bread, it was slightly floppy and felt like an afterthought compared to the rest of the burger. Onion rings were solid too. Would definitely come back again.
Food and service were absolutely amazing! What made my experience better was the great staffs. They kept checking to see if we need anything else and wanting to refill our drinks. You don't get to experience this kind of service anymore especially at a burger joint anymore.
TL;DR: Have to say one of the best smash burgers I ever had. Tater tots were excellent too. Was in downtown looking for a good sandwich or burger place for lunch. This place popped up on yelp and I trust my fellow yelpers for good reviews. Looking at the menu, there's a lot of Wagyu burgers. Wondered if it was legit and gotta say the meat was really tasty. Not sure how they cook it on the hot plate, but the meat was juicy and there's something about the taste that made it really good. Went with the jalapeño burger and got to say it was so good. Bite it after bite. Guess normally would go with french fries but decided to go with tater tots thinking it was the cheeky kind that you always get the frozen section at the supermarket but these were really good like almost double cooked so they're a little crispier. I went at 11:30 AM on a Friday and it was really crowded. Justifiably so because I believe the burgers here are excellent . Want to try their mushroom Swiss burger next time. But I'm telling you you have to try this place at least once if you're in the downtown area. The students at San Jose State have that going for them.

Found this place in TikTok and it's easy to find street parking and there were good enough places to eat inside or out. Been here many times now. Have been looking for a good smashed burger in the Bay Area . This is the place! Nice ambiance and good decor. This is the place I usually get my smashed burgers at. Their patties come out nice and crispy on the edges. I usually get the 1/2 lb jalapeño double cheeseburger, and add lettuce and tomatoes as having all burger can be too much. Since it's Wagyu beef, it can be a little greasy. It's easy to customize.i. I love their shakes but a bit expensive for a small size. Good onion rings but ok fries. I wish they offered garlic fries!! I was in the mood for a burger this past Friday, and ended up here. Street parking was plentiful less than a block away on Santa Clara Street, and free after 6pm. The interior of the restaurant was clean, modern, and inviting, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. Songs like "Play That Funky Music" could be heard through the speakers, adding to the carefree and casual vibe. And a code was needed for restroom access. There were ample employees on site and ready to assist at the front counter as soon as I stepped inside, though I opted to use the self-order kiosk to make my purchase. Got the 1/2 lb mushroom swiss wagyu smash cheeseburger for takeout. My food was ready in less than 10 minutes. Staff was friendly and offered sauces when handing me my bag (hot sauce, ranch, bbq) at no extra cost... obviously I went with the ranch which I was pleased to find was not hidden valley. The burger was made up of two juicy smashed beef patties, nicely seasoned and oversized for the bun, more meat than carbs just the way I like. The cheese and grilled mushroom and onion added great flavor, but the double layer of meat is what shined in this sandwich, so tasty and absolutely satisfying. I already wanna return to try more delectable items from their menu. read more
These smash burgers are pretty damn good and the tallow fries are the icing on the cake for me. Been here with my family and tried their 1/4 lb burger with their tallow fries. I thought it was good but I wasn't sure if it was worth coming back. The burger felt underwhelming. The meat patty was huge being bigger than bun. I know Tallow fries are much better for you compared to other oils so I love that they were crisp to perfection! I recently came back when attending the Dom Dolla takeover at San Jose City Hall. At the concert, we were getting a little bored and wanted to eat so Sixth Street burgers were surprisingly open. They organized the line differently and their wait time wasn't bad at all for your order. I got the 1/2 lb burger with tallow fries, and it hit a bit more than the other time. Another perk is that they are generous with the sauces. Inside is small with limited seating so it leans more of a grab & go restaurant. read more
We really enjoyed our meal here. They have an orange sauce that was bomb!! I told them they should bottle it. Our burgers were delicious and the onion rings were cooked to perfection with each crispy bite. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Parking is a bit of a challenge as its Santa Clara St. so expect metered parking unless you go on Sunday when its free. We got there during a free parking day and we found no issues for parking. We will be back for more soon. Interior is nice and clean, plenty of seating for dine-in. Update: Best banana milkshake in DTSJ!!! Gastro Maestro Approved! read more

San Jose has some excellent smash burgers being made at Sixth Street Burger. I recently did a smash burger tour around the Bay Area and this was my second stop. The burgers here are massive. The quality of beef is very good. To enhance the flavors they have many different ranch sauces that include jalapeño ranch and chipotle ranch. Sixth Street Burger also has their own orange sauce that really takes the burger to the next level. The onion rings and milk shake were solid. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. They have both inside and outside seating for customers to eat their burgers. Cool, hip vibe to the eatery. My burger score here was 8.8. read more
Bomb. Customer service was wonderful. Cute girl at the front was patient and accommodating- even offering us fresh homemade ranch sauces that were made that morning. The food. HOLY MOLY. Delicious!! So so good, I had the jalapeño 1/2 lb double smash burger and finished it in less than 5. My 14 year old nephew INHALED his and said it was 10/10. You can order on the kiosk or with a staff member. I shared a combo 1/2 LB DOUBLE SMASH WAGYU CHEESEBURGER, onion rings, and a drink with my friend. We also had a six street fries for the table to share. We sat outside since all of the inside seats were taken. The burger was good. The onion rings were well seasoned and the onions were tender on the inside and easily broke apart when bitten compared to other onion rings where you accidentally tear out the whole onion because it won't break apart. The six street fries were addicting. It's a nice level up from in n out animal fries. It was really filling. read more
I wanted to come here to dine, not for Valentine's but because I heard good things about this place, but my energy level was low so we DoorDashed. The burgers delivered hot and fresh. I ordered the 1/2lb Wagyu double smash cheeseburger. The chocolate milkshake was creamy and rich, just the way I like it. My burger was juicy and deliciously caramelized. Sixth Street Burger is the platonic ideal of a smash burger, exactly what you picture and crave when you conjure up an image of the American classic in your mind. Their double cheeseburger was excellent, topped simply with grilled onions, burger sauce, and a few slices of pickle. The fries, cooked in beef tallow, were perfectly crispy and seasoned, and you can ask for a side of ranch. As any lover of ranch will know, there is good ranch and bad ranch for dipping fries, and I'm pleased to report that Sixth Street Burger serves great good ranch. From top to bottom the meal was solid and I left without a single complaint. Beyond the food itself, the service was some of the best I've experienced in a while. Workers stopped by our table multiple times to check in and see if we needed anything, to offer drink refills and hot sauce, etc. It was a level of service you would expect from a nice sit-down restaurant, not a counter-service burger joint but it was greatly appreciated. I can see that I'm not the only one excited about Sixth Street Burger as it got pretty packed, even before noon on a random Tuesday. The word is out on this place so get down there soon before there is a line out the door! read more

Sixth Street Burger is not Messing around! This place really surprised me how good it was. These are pretty basic smash burgers but made so well! These are Wagyu burgers with great flavor and crispy edges. The cheese just melts perfectly and everything just works 9/10. The tallo fried tater tots were crispy and with their spicy sauce it just made me happy. The prices are super reasonable too. Service was way more than I expected with super friendly and attentive staff. The hype on IG is legit. read more

Sixth street burger is a fantastic addition to the Downtown San Jose food scene. The atmosphere is super casual, no frills with a menu stacked full of shakes, appetizers/sides to share, and mouth watering smash burger options. Right as you enter, you'll see kiosks on the right hand side which makes ordering a breeze. If you need to pay cash, I believe you can pay at the cashier as well. You'll need to find street parking nearby. Luckily the meters nearby are quite affordable at about $1-$2 per hour. The unhoused people outside can be aggressive so I would recommend coming during daylight if you're a solo diner. Smashburger - The meat patty was juicy although being thin in size. As far as seasoning goes, it was VERY well seasoned. Like to the point where is was too salty especially drenched in their housemade sauce and pickles. Bun was pillowy soft and delicious on its own. Overall, the burger was salty but not enough for me to stop eating. I just had to gulf down a few cups of water. Onion rings - Super crispy, tender sweet onions inside. Paired perfectly with the ranch. Highly recommend! French fries - Addictive in flavor and unique in taste being fried in tallow fat. My only note is to put less salt on their meat patties. Other than that, everything else is great! Sides are equally as good as the burger itself. The meal is quite filling and so much more satisfying than an in n out burger since the quantity is much more and the options are much better here. Interior is sparkling clean and the servers are so friendly and outgoing. This review is not fully representative of the quality of this burger joint, as I only had experience with their peanut butter wagyu smash burger - which I did not really like. The burger itself without the peanut butter was flavorful, and I did not know that you can request tomato and lettuce on the side, which may have made the peanut butter burger palatable . . . I came on a Saturday around 8:30. I ordered a 3/4 lb burger. It came out within 10 minutes. The meat is a bit salty but I overall enjoyed it! The employee was kind enough to get me one sauce without making me pay even though you're supposed to pay. This is a medium sized store. It's a great place for dates or small groups. tldr: easy to order, staff are cool, food is really good-- especially the fries, good vibes all around Stopped by on a Sunday evening for dinner and gotta say it was pretty full. You have seated patrons, those in line waiting to place an order, and those waiting for their order. Albeit, the line moves pretty quickly and staff are really on top of checking in. Whether you're dining in or taking it to-go, the staff do a great job and making sure you receive your food in a timely manner and to your liking. I'm basic and ordered the 1/4 lb mushroom swiss burger in a lettuce wrap instead of a bun ( bun sounded yum but I needed the space to devour their fries) Burger was delicious and huuuge. Did not expect to be as large as it was but then again it's just the lettuce. Fries are what I actually came for and they did not disappoint-- each bite was crunchy and seasoned. Onions rings were an impulse decision that I don't regret ordering. I've never not had an onion ring that breaks apart upon biting, so this was a pleasant surprise. And lastly the milkshake was a nice treat-- I originally ordered the fresh banana but they ran out. Luckily the girl behind the counter understood my predicament and recommended strawberry blueberry which definitely was a nice compromise. I know this place is good because my stomach didn't hurt after eating and honestly didn't get those gross meat sweats/ fried food coma. Inside there are some tables and counters and a few tables outside as well. Space is clean. Can be a tad loud if you're sitting right by milkshake machine but not too terrible. Overall, I'd def recommend and go again myself. It's gonna be pricier than others but you can really taste the quality and care that goes into each burger that comes out. If you're looking for a good burger , this place is it . They have the best smash burgers. Love the location , they have outdoor seating and the place is super clean & offer amazing burgers . 1/2 lb jalapeño wagyu double smash burger $13.96 : This is our go to order. The potato bun is so soft . The meat is super juicy with a little crisp on the outside, the melty gooey cheese with the soft bun that squishes in your hand makes it perfection . I also love the hint of spice from the jalapeños. I like to add tomatoes , lettuce and onion to mine which is nice to have that option. 5/5 Tallow fries $5.96 : Crispy fries cooked in beef tallow . I always opt for the truffle rosemary . Love that the fries are super crunchy and pair nicely with the burger! What is a burger without fries?! I've been to this place a few times & this has to be one of my favorite burger spots . The food is always on point & the customer service here is amazing !!
