Delectable. We ordered a 1/4 lb delux smash wagyu cheeseburger and 1/2 lb jalapeno wagyu double smash cheeseburger combo (onion rings + pepsi) via Owner. The pickup process was seamless, and we ate our order inside. There weren't too many seats, but luckily it wasn't too busy, and pretty clean too. We both demolished our burgers, they were that good. I personally enjoyed having the lettuce/raw onion/pickles balance out the overall burger. Pickle ratio to burger was good too, very evenly distributed throughout. Only small area of improvement would be the bread, it was slightly floppy and felt like an afterthought compared to the rest of the burger. Onion rings were solid too. Would definitely come back again.

Jalapeño double smash wagyu cheeseburger with Swiss and side of tater tots.

TL;DR: Have to say one of the best smash burgers I ever had. Tater tots were excellent too. Was in downtown looking for a good sandwich or burger place for lunch. This place popped up on yelp and I trust my fellow yelpers for good reviews. Looking at the menu, there's a lot of Wagyu burgers. Wondered if it was legit and gotta say the meat was really tasty. Not sure how they cook it on the hot plate, but the meat was juicy and there's something about the taste that made it really good. Went with the jalapeño burger and got to say it was so good. Bite it after bite. Guess normally would go with french fries but decided to go with tater tots thinking it was the cheeky kind that you always get the frozen section at the supermarket but these were really good like almost double cooked so they're a little crispier. I went at 11:30 AM on a Friday and it was really crowded. Justifiably so because I believe the burgers here are excellent . Want to try their mushroom Swiss burger next time. But I'm telling you you have to try this place at least once if you're in the downtown area. The students at San Jose State have that going for them.

We really enjoyed our meal here. They have an orange sauce that was bomb!! I told them they should bottle it. Our burgers were delicious and the onion rings were cooked to perfection with each crispy bite. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Parking is a bit of a challenge as its Santa Clara St. so expect metered parking unless you go on Sunday when its free. We got there during a free parking day and we found no issues for parking. We will be back for more soon. Interior is nice and clean, plenty of seating for dine-in. Update: Best banana milkshake in DTSJ!!! Gastro Maestro Approved!

I was in the mood for a burger this past Friday, and ended up here. Street parking was plentiful less than a block away on Santa Clara Street, and free after 6pm. The interior of the restaurant was clean, modern, and inviting, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. Songs like "Play That Funky Music" could be heard through the speakers, adding to the carefree and casual vibe. And a code was needed for restroom access. There were ample employees on site and ready to assist at the front counter as soon as I stepped inside, though I opted to use the self-order kiosk to make my purchase. Got the 1/2 lb mushroom swiss wagyu smash cheeseburger for takeout. My food was ready in less than 10 minutes. Staff was friendly and offered sauces when handing me my bag (hot sauce, ranch, bbq) at no extra cost... obviously I went with the ranch which I was pleased to find was not hidden valley. The burger was made up of two juicy smashed beef patties, nicely seasoned and oversized for the bun, more meat than carbs just the way I like. The cheese and grilled mushroom and onion added great flavor, but the double layer of meat is what shined in this sandwich, so tasty and absolutely satisfying. I already wanna return to try more delectable items from their menu.

Bomb. Customer service was wonderful. Cute girl at the front was patient and accommodating- even offering us fresh homemade ranch sauces that were made that morning. The food. HOLY MOLY. Delicious!! So so good, I had the jalapeño 1/2 lb double smash burger and finished it in less than 5. My 14 year old nephew INHALED his and said it was 10/10. Would def recommend and come back and try more burgers!

You can order on the kiosk or with a staff member. I shared a combo 1/2 LB DOUBLE SMASH WAGYU CHEESEBURGER, onion rings, and a drink with my friend. We also had a six street fries for the table to share. We sat outside since all of the inside seats were taken. The burger was good. The onion rings were well seasoned and the onions were tender on the inside and easily broke apart when bitten compared to other onion rings where you accidentally tear out the whole onion because it won't break apart. The six street fries were addicting. It's a nice level up from in n out animal fries. It was really filling.

These smash burgers are pretty damn good and the tallow fries are the icing on the cake for me. Been here with my family and tried their 1/4 lb burger with their tallow fries. I thought it was good but I wasn't sure if it was worth coming back. The burger felt underwhelming. The meat patty was huge being bigger than bun. I know Tallow fries are much better for you compared to other oils so I love that they were crisp to perfection! I recently came back when attending the Dom Dolla takeover at San Jose City Hall. At the concert, we were getting a little bored and wanted to eat so Sixth Street burgers were surprisingly open. They organized the line differently and their wait time wasn't bad at all for your order. I got the 1/2 lb burger with tallow fries, and it hit a bit more than the other time. Another perk is that they are generous with the sauces. Inside is small with limited seating so it leans more of a grab & go restaurant.

San Jose has some excellent smash burgers being made at Sixth Street Burger. I recently did a smash burger tour around the Bay Area and this was my second stop. The burgers here are massive. The quality of beef is very good. To enhance the flavors they have many different ranch sauces that include jalapeño ranch and chipotle ranch. Sixth Street Burger also has their own orange sauce that really takes the burger to the next level. The onion rings and milk shake were solid. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. They have both inside and outside seating for customers to eat their burgers. Cool, hip vibe to the eatery. My burger score here was 8.8.

tldr: easy to order, staff are cool, food is really good-- especially the fries, good vibes all around Stopped by on a Sunday evening for dinner and gotta say it was pretty full. You have seated patrons, those in line waiting to place an order, and those waiting for their order. Albeit, the line moves pretty quickly and staff are really on top of checking in. Whether you're dining in or taking it to-go, the staff do a great job and making sure you receive your food in a timely manner and to your liking. I'm basic and ordered the 1/4 lb mushroom swiss burger in a lettuce wrap instead of a bun ( bun sounded yum but I needed the space to devour their fries) Burger was delicious and huuuge. Did not expect to be as large as it was but then again it's just the lettuce. Fries are what I actually came for and they did not disappoint-- each bite was crunchy and seasoned. Onions rings were an impulse decision that I don't regret ordering. I've never not had an onion ring that breaks apart upon biting, so this was a pleasant surprise. And lastly the milkshake was a nice treat-- I originally ordered the fresh banana but they ran out. Luckily the girl behind the counter understood my predicament and recommended strawberry blueberry which definitely was a nice compromise. I know this place is good because my stomach didn't hurt after eating and honestly didn't get those gross meat sweats/ fried food coma. Inside there are some tables and counters and a few tables outside as well. Space is clean. Can be a tad loud if you're sitting right by milkshake machine but not too terrible. Overall, I'd def recommend and go again myself. It's gonna be pricier than others but you can really taste the quality and care that goes into each burger that comes out. Staff are so friendly and made it a point to make sure every patron had a good experience.

Milkshakes were sooo good!!

I wanted to come here to dine, not for Valentine's but because I heard good things about this place, but my energy level was low so we DoorDashed. The burgers delivered hot and fresh. I ordered the 1/2lb Wagyu double smash cheeseburger. The chocolate milkshake was creamy and rich, just the way I like it. My burger was juicy and deliciously caramelized. I really appreciate the red hearts on the bag. I might stop by today after my class to dine in-person!

Food: The Smash burgers did feel kinda small, BUT THE FRIES IS SOO GOOD!! So together pretty good meal to treat myself ;D! Service/ambiance: VERY CLEAN AND FRIENDLY! Very homely diner vibes!

Quick and dirty smash burger in the downtown, but with extraordinarily helpful staff and more premium leaning offerings. Sixth St Burger sits in that funny niche of local offering, fast-food-esque, but still warm and cozy. Offerings are pretty straightforward, with rotations of burger toppings, some non-burger offerings, (loaded) fries and beverages. I've generally had a deliciously juicy burger, oozing rich cheese, and friendly folk behind the counter for anything else I need. Hard to ask for more! They use Marianne's for their ice cream shakes too, so that helps too.

probably the best smash burger in all of the south bay. great flavor and use of high quality ingredients. only thing to warn you though is likely due to the use of 70/30 or 60/40 beef, you'll feel a bit sluggish afterwards. worth it though. if you like chili, their chili which is one the chili cheese fries is one of the best chili's I've had out there. it's friggin good! the chili cheese fries are a hole run!

Great food!

This is their current location, but I don't think it's their permanent place of business. Just for the time being. Google maps will take you to a parking lot entrance that's closed, blocked by a chain, so make sure you enter the parking lot on Locust Street. I ordered online, and the wait time was a bit long (20+ minutes) but not terrible. And once you arrive, there's a sign near the parking lot directing you to walk down an alley-like path. No signs at the door, just a dumpster outside. Yup, that's where you pick up. It feels like you're walking through the back door of a restaurant kitchen. Actually when you step inside, it indeed IS the kitchen which doubles as a pickup spot (no seats, no signs, I just showed the guy my order on my phone and he handed me my food packed neatly in a paper bag). I got the perro loco which comes with fries on the side, and an arepa with cheese. I didn't like that customers can't customize items when ordering online for pick up. Also wasn't a fan of the pineapple sauce, though I think that's one of the things they're known for. But the hot dog was still good, generous with the toppings and certainly unique. The sausage was plump and juicy with a mild flavor. The fries were delicious as well, and didn't taste cheap. And the mini arepa with cheese was buttery and had a nice texture. Altogether it made for a filling meal.

The menu is extensive with a mix of options (including a vegetarian burger). I ordered El Apto which came with a beef patty, bacon, shredded chicken, lettuce, tomato...all between a brioche bun. This came with fries and a side of pineapple sauce and apto sauce. I dipped my fries in the apto sauce and it was so good! The pineapple sauce goes well in the burger and also on the fries. The beef patty was perfectly seasoned and so juicy. All the flavors were amazing and tasted so fresh. I loved the crispy bacon and the shredded chicken. The chicken was well flavored and they put an ample amount on top of the burger. Wow! What a great combo. I also tried the maracuya (passion fruit) drink and it was so good! I like that it wasn't too sweet. It's fresh and refreshing. They are pretty busy because it's their opening so there might be a wait but it's totally worth it. There are tables around for you to sit so it's casual. The owner is so nice and you can tell he is very proud of his food. Highly recommend!!

The hostess was very friendly and showed us to our table. We had a table inside, which was an intimate upscale casual area with a bar. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms for a starter. It was so hard to pick one because everything on the menu sounds so good. Alas, I have a small appetite. The mushrooms were very tasty and a nice start to our meal. For entrees, we had the halibut and prime filet with a side of broccolini. Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Drinks are on the pricey side- I had a Hero Old Fashioned and the Taylor Made, $20 each. They were nicely crafted, so worth the price. They brought out a Carmel Popcorn Sundae for my husband's birthday and even gave him a birthday card which I thought was a nice touch. Service was slow and steady. We had ample time to enjoy our food without feeling rushed, but never felt like our server forgot about us. We spent about 2 hours for dinner. Probably not a place to go if you're in a hurry. I'm eager to return and try some more of the starters. It's the kind of place I'd love to take out of town guests - high quality fine dining in a casual and relaxed environment.

The restaurant had a nice visual ambience, but also felt casual as there was a lot of chatter, which isn't a bad thing depending on what you're looking for. Our waiter was especially friendly and helped us decide what to order. I really wish I could remember his name, as I'm posting this a bit late, but he was a huge reason why we had a great experience! Here's a quick rating on the food itself: Stuffed mushrooms (3.5/5): This was recommended by the waiter as a favorite among patrons. The mushrooms weren't bad or anything, but for some reason, it gave me combination pizza vibes that I wasn't expecting. It was good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to order it again personally. Bone-in ribeye (5/5): an amazing cut that was cooked perfectly. Exactly what you would expect from a good steakhouse. The compound butter was fantastic! Bone-in apricot glazed pork chop (3.5/5): this one may hit different for different folks. The pork was perfectly cooked and juicy, but the apricot glaze was definitely a little too sweet for our palettes. If you're looking for something more savory, I might try something else. But hey, sweet might be your thing too! Caramel popcorn sundae (4.5/5): we got this one complimentary for being our special day, which was a really nice surprise! And it was a full serving! This one was obviously sweet, but surprisingly more subdued than it sounds, which was really nice! Overall, it was truly a memorable night with great food. And though some things didn't quite work for our palettes, I can totally see that it may for others--so that didn't impact my ratings because they were still good--just not for us. That said, the care that we received on our anniversary was what truly made me land on a 5/5 rating. Definitely coming back for future special occasions!
