Salmon wrap with sweet potato fries

Came into town to check out the minute man monument and trail and came in for lunch. So glad we did family owned business with fresh food. We waited about 20 minutes but it was worth the it. Stop in for a tasty meal and dont forget to get a shake.

What a happy accident when my hotel's breakfast buffet closed earlier than I expected, and I had to go into town for breakfast! If I hadn't happened, I would not have had a lovely breakfast at Helen's. The menu has a nice variety and the customers seem like a mix of visitors and local people. Lots of greeting each other by name which gives a really welcoming vibe. Staff were friendly and helpful. Felt like all the servers have probably been there a long time and they enjoy their work. I had the Joe's Special, made with turkey sausage. Very tasty. Their home fries are delicious. Really flavorful, almost like the potatoes were simmered in a stock before they were fried up. Or maybe whoever's in the kitchen just has a deft hand with seasoning Also had the biggest cold brew I've ever had in my life. It would give a Sbux Triente a run for his money, and it was delicious. (Their coffee is Bad Ass brand out of Hawaii.) Parking is on street and free (there are meters but the City has deactivated them). Even if you have to park a little ways away,Helen's is worth the walk.

Shrimp Po' Boy Wrap and Asian Salmon Salad

Great find in the center of town. Went for a late lunch on a Saturday, and it was packed, but we were seated very promptly and waited on almost immediately! I was very impressed with how friendly and efficient the staff were in spite of how very busy they were. The menu is extensive with a wide range of options. I got the shrimp po' boy wrap, which was great -- New Orleans-hot, but even better since it includes some perfectly crisp bacon for a surprising and wonderful crunch! My partner's Asian Salmon salad was also excellent. It's unusual to find a restaurant that can deliver on such a range of dishes, and we want to come back and try more of them.

Came here for breakfast the other weekend and not impressed. Food was not that great- The breakfast burrito was okay, the black beans were the best part. My husband had one of the samplers, and he wasn't impressed with any of lt. My mom had some toast and it wasn't even toasted! The server was also a little rude and not very attentive.

    Turkey burger and fries.

It's not very great for groups larger than four, but the food is so delicious. I highly recommend!

The Tack Room's menu is pretty interesting with a lot of things I don't usually see combined…read moretogether. Today I gave it a try and felt that it was good in some areas and just ok in others. Overall the food tasted pretty healthy despite having pork belly and chorizo. The seasoning was definitely on the lighter side, where the french onion soup was tasting pretty close to an extremely light broth. Tried the cassoulet which I've heard of before but never seen on a menu. It was very hearty but also a but bland. Pulled pork and pork belly seemed to have zero salt. Duck leg confit also very bland. It was cooked well but just bland. The dishes with citrus were quite tasty. Beets and arugala salad very good, good quality goat cheese. Alligator chorizo grilled oysters surprisingly good. Never had alligator chorizo before but it was crispy and not fatty even though it resembled bacon visually. The oysters were small, even more small in comparison to the chorizo but it was a good bite. I would recommend skipping the clam chowder, french onion soup (not really caramelized onions to be honest), and the cassoulet unless you feel empowered to salt your own food. The clientele was definitely in the 60+ range. Nothing wrong with that obviously but tastes change with age and maybe thats why the seasoning was so light. Today there were just two wait staff for the whole place. Seemed understaffed and it took almost thirty minutes for food to come out. Waiting for the check took about fifteen minutes. Staff was nice but definitely overloaded. Today was a holiday though.

Uncommonly kind and friendly service! Great burgers, drinks, and atmosphere on the outdoor patio.read more
