Bakery case - chocolate cupcake was fun and yum!

We found this gem on our first morning in South Pasadena and went every morning during our recent trip to LA. Breakfast is amazing! Large portions and fresh ingredients. The bagel I had with smoked salmon, cream cheese, and cucumbers was so satisfying. We also enjoyed an omelet, an egg scramble, and incredible croissants (one with ham and cheese; the other with mushrooms and spinach). The fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious and I loved my dirty chai latte. The staff is helpful and friendly. We loved the option of sitting inside and outside, and the easy access to the South Pasadena LAMetro stop. We highly recommend and can't wait to come back!

One of my fav So Pas brunchie spots. So consistently good with fresh baked items. It is a great spot to meet friends and unwind from a long week. The food is tasty and the coffee is on point for a weekend morning, the drip they offer is a smooth pick me up without the jolt. This place is what every neighborhood needs. Don't remember when it opened, but this bakery is always a repeat visit for me. My normal MO is grab n go after a workout. There bakery display case is always a winner, I can always find a treat when I stop in. The best items for me are the mushroom spinach croissant or the savory scone. Always a mood enhancer after the first bite, happy thoughts moving forward. Note, when walking up to the display, remember to look at the whole selection. There will be a special item either on a pedestal, plate, or piled neatly in a corner. Those are the unique items, and worth trying; it might not be a winner all the time but worth the experience. Today, I came across a savory Danish that hit the right buttons, it was a cherry tomato and ricotta with a hint of pesto. So, delicious, fulfilling in an easy way where the pesto wasn't overpowering the sweet tart tomatoes and creamy cheese. Delightful pastry.

This is a great casual spot for breakfast or lunch. I've been here a couple of times and each time the service has been warm and welcoming. I've gotten their roast beef hot sandwich, ham and cheese croissant, and iced matcha. Everything has been delicious. They have a free parking lot next door as well as street parking. Definitely recommend.

I highly recommend Heirloom Bakery and Café. All of their food is freshly made, and their baked goods are absolutely amazing, along with the rest of the menu. You truly can't go wrong with any choice. It's definitely worth stopping by if you're in South Pasadena.

    The pastries looked amazing!!!!

Such a cute bakery and cafe. I wish I was able to sit in the space but I ordered a Cuban sandwich to go. The staff was very friendly and the sandwhich was good. I want to go back and grab some pastries and sit in their seating area and enjoy the ambiance!

We really enjoy their meatloaf sandwich! Although, we wish there were more gluten-free options.

Heirloom Bakery (est 2005) is a corner local breakfast, lunch, cafe and pastry shop located at Meridian ave in So. Pasadena. They are literally in front of the MTA Gold line station. I came here today for brunch. I was warmly greeted by a young female staff. I told her it's my first time and she kindly showed me the menu. I decided to order one of their Specials. Veggie omelet, cafe au lait and orange juice. I liked my food and drinks. Indoor/outdoor atmosphere were relaxing. Their indoor seats were limited, however, they have more tables outdoor. Service was on point. Staff was cordial and professional. Prices seem economically fair. Side street parking and free public lot next to the cafe are available. Overall, I had a good meal and dine-in experience. I recommend this bakery and cafe restaurant.

Ham, tomato, onion, and cheddar omelette with side greens. Delicious!

I love coming here after a hard workout, or to do some work. The coffee is top tier, and the pastries and breakfasts are varied, so there's something for everyone. It's a warm and homey environment, and it never takes too long for things to be made. You can also take cupcakes and other goodies home, if you have the discipline to do so!

Awesome local bakery and cafe. It has inside and outside seating. Close to metro parking structure. Therefore, parking is free and available. They have friendly staff and food are delicious. Definitely a great place to grab breakfast and brunch

WELCOME BACK, SALLY!!! I heard the original owner returned, and I noticed the TV monitors were gone, so we stopped in for lunch on our way home from jury duty. It was as if Mom came back to feed us. We had: French Chicken sandwich Mac & cheese Green Goddess pasta Chocolate cupcakes Key Lime pie It's probably a little silly how happy I am to have Heirloom back the way it's supposed to be.

You must try Heirloom Bakery. The overstuffed sandwiches are amazing. I had the BLT. Delicious, fresh homemade bread and perfectly crispy bacon. My friend loved her breakfast sandwich, my brother raved about his turkey sandwich too. We had the option to order a 1/2 sandwich. I may do that next time! Cheerful service We greedily shared the pumpkin muffin and almond croissant the staff included as a thank you. Will definitely return.

The place was packed, and we were lucky enough to grab the last available table. I ordered the stacked pancake breakfast along with an iced matcha latte, which was refreshing after a workout class nearby. My husband chose the brisket lunch burrito. Our food took quite a while to arrive, close to 30 mins! But the staff was very apologetic and even brought us a complimentary muffin while we waited. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and delicious. I swapped the bacon for tofu, and it made for a satisfying breakfast. However, my husband wasn't as impressed with his brisket burrito, saying it was a bit dry. Hospitality is not for the weak, and it is oftentimes a difficult endeavor, but LLK went above and beyond, from conception to execution. Given that they are the catering company for our wedding venue (Castle Green), we were initially apprehensive given wedding food's reputation, but thankfully our concerns were quickly put to rest once we started working with Kevin and Kari (the dynamic duo!) on developing our custom menu. They are so skilled and creative in working with an array of flavors and cultures. The entire team-Kevin, Kari, Brooke, and staff- was passionate about making our day special and committed to collaborating on a custom menu that we adored and felt good about sharing with our loved ones. We couldn't have asked for a kinder, more open-hearted group to work with. Our friends and family (some of them are notoriously picky eaters) were so impressed by the food--"wedding food" doesn't always have the best connotation, but the food served at our reception absolutely knocked it out of the park. Everything is customizable to your heart's content and they do an incredible job at guiding you through it all. Choosing linens, glassware, etc. was also a breeze. Commitment to getting it right and honoring our vision and my Chinese heritage. It was a small detail that was deeply meaningful and completely unexpected. From sourcing a specific brand of ingredient down to using Calrose rice as a nod to my husband's family roots in rice farming, LLK's menu was a fun nod to our respective family backgrounds. We had mentioned enjoying orange chicken but beyond incorporating a bit of Americanized Chinese food, I didn't anticipate that any other cultural food would work. LLK took it to the next step and proposed a tasty soy marinated/five spiced deviled egg with pork sung on top (a crowd pleaser and my favorite appetizer from cocktail hour; also a childhood staple for me growing up). The charcuterie table was phenomenal and all plating was elegant, fitting to the occasion. Our tasting with Kevin was an event all on its own! We had such a fun evening of genuine conversation and enjoying Following the tasting, LLK's team checked in with us regarding our tasting notes. We were impressed by how well Kevin and the team were able to recalibrate the final flavors accordingly to deliver exactly what our taste buds hoped for based on our initial tasting notes. Communication with them was always easy despite their busy schedules. We can't recommend them enough and hope to visit them at their restaurant pop ups!!

We had a premiere party at Castle Green in December where your only choice for catering by contract with the building is Little Lily's Kitchen. Kari and Booke were very nice, but their prices were insane for what we needed. In any case, we moved forward with an 8K invoice for a "finger-food" order for 250. When we found only 70 had RSVPd, we obviously had to honor our non-refundable contract for the 8K, which we did in good faith and ahead of schedule. But since we were at 1/3 capacity, I asked for an additional choice of finger food, which they did. The problem came in the fact that we paid for 6 servers and received 3. The food didn't begin circulating (by a very sweet wait staff) until 45 minutes after guests arrived and then it was very intermittent with many never receiving food. For 8K I expected non-stop food for our 70 guests, instead what I got (and didn't find out till later) was a lot of hungry people. On top of that, we had 16 guests report stomach issues the next morning - the commonality being goat cheese. When I addressed this to Brooke and Kari, I was not looking for a refund - after all, maybe it was a stomach virus that circulated within 24 hours, but I was dismayed by the fact that they didn't respond at all- zero, zip, nothing, not even a thank you for our business. It was the BIGGEST ripoff I've ever experienced with a caterer. For anyone having an event at Castle Green that doesn't involve a very large payout for the owners, buyer beware.
